I was watching The Soup (a weekly pop culture show on E!) and they started talking about the stagehand stirke on Broadway.

Joel: I can deal without Prime time T.V. for a week, but if I can't see Wicked for a magical fourth time, HEADS ARE GONNA ROLL! Where do the stagehands go?
Tom: *enters dressed as Erik* I'm the Phantom of the Soup! *pours some coffee for Joel* I MAKE THE COFFEE OF THE NIGHT! Now, I'm off to destroy the set!
Joel: We don't have a set.
Tom: Screw you! *leaps off-camera*

Elanchana
Look at them squirm like worms in mud,
Blaming a ghost who's flesh and blood.
Crossing the line, tossing the dice,
Making decisions and paying the price.

I very nearly made a Stallah reference on my English quiz today. It was about Keats's Grecian Urn poem, and we were asked about the quote "Heard melodies are sweet but those unheard are sweeter". I was writing that we can hear good music but we can imagine perfect music-- HOLD IT! My brain imediately started singing "PERFECT MUSIC PERFECT LOOOOOOVE" and I almost burst out laughing. I changed perfect to ideal, I don't know why. The weird thing is that "perfect music, perfect love" applies to a whole stanza of that poem.

If I were really a ghost, my dear,
I'd find a better Hell than here!
-Erik, The Phantom of the Opera, Tom Alonso

I referenced Phantom in class today. Twice.

We were writing a story of English and I was so braindead that I named a character Mulheim. Mulheim, as some of you may know, was the last name given to Erik in Phantom of Manhattan.

And in French class, we had to write positive and negative sentences using the verb etre.

Lazzy during French Class

Raoul est un frere.
Raoul is a brother. (Raoul has siblings.)
Christine n'est pas une souer.
Christine is not a sister. (She is an only child.)

ZOMG SOUTHPARK!

The eppy where Cartman pretends to have tourettes syndrome.

'Did Time Rice's mom give him 20 minutes to finish the score for Phantom of the Opera?'

My uncle and I were talking about different places we wanted to go, and we ended up talking about the Hershey's Chocolate Factory.
My uncle: Hah! I'd stow away there- become the Phantom there! And I'd steal all the chocolate.

I was watching a documentary about Mae West the other day and I spotted this image. Guess what I immediately thought of.

West would make possibly the worst Christine ever, imo.

Hmm I could have sworn I saw a reference found in Brother's Grimm in this thread but i cant seem to find it...I was wondering if it was something about a chandelier being dropped on somebody, I'm pretty sure i saw that... in fact there are many chandelier droppings...a few ive seen recently which i havent mentioned are one in Stardust, one in this Nancy drew computer game and one in deathly hallows
(which i noticed now that ive reread it...must have gone right over my head the first time i read it since i was plowing right through it so i would know what happned)

Anyway I also saw an adversismenet in one of those skymall magazines and it said "Learn to play chess form the phantom!"i was like O_O! I almost squealed.
It was this electric chessboard that taught you to play chess and the name was Phantom something. Now that I think about it he probably was a fine chess pokayer as intellectual as he was!!

Okay, this isn't exactly a reference per se, but when I went to see Sweeney Todd, during the song "A Little Priest", when Mrs. L sings "That's fop, finest in the shop" instantly made me giggle and think "Somebody's going to eat Raoul..."

oh, and for Phantastic and Lazzy:

I was watching a show on SciFi called "Scary but True", and they featured a theatre which was hautned by a ghost called "Precocious". Precocious did mostly harmless things, but once she dropped a chandelier.

Erik can teach new phantoms frokm beyond the grave~

Odd PotO spotting:

Phantom perfume??
And another one... Also lol @ the customer review:

Quote:
WHEN YOU READ THE NAME IT DOES MAKE YOU CURIOUS AS TO WHAT TYPE OF FRAGRANCE COULD THIS BE, BUT WHEN YOU APPLY THIS RICH FLORALLY FRAGRANCE TO YOUR SKIN IT LASTS AS LONG AS AN OPERA BUT NOT AS BORING.

I was hoping they would at least smell like death. <.<
