UreshiiNyoko SirSka I started dating my gf in highschool, she played flute, melephone, trombone. I played t-bone, and we are still together, and in band, and pursuing music careers. The band nerd love flows even in colege. whee If you have children it may just be BORN with a mouthpiece attatched and buzzing instead of talking. or even better: 2 hardcore band parents and the child plays...... Cello. My wind ensemble BD and his wife both play sax. He brought his kid (less than a year old) into to wind ensemble rehearsal once and he started crying when the altos were out of tune. So our BD cut them off, his kid stopped crying and we tuned and then we played that same phrase and he didn't cry. It was cute.

I have two stories on this actually.
My freshman year, I thought the tenor drummer was cute. I told my friend in guard, and a month later I'm apparently stalking him. My band are such gossipers, and it usually gets distorted lol!
Last year, I had an actual crush on one of the tenor drummers (the other one, we only have two. oh, the one from freshman went to snare, so we had identical twins on tenors!!!). Anyway, so we had drum-guard sleepovers because DL and Guard were like attached at the hip because the DL didn't play in the ballad so they picked up flags and did work with us! Anyway, so the night we won sweepstakes, he told me he liked me back and thanks to my captains, we ended up going on a triple date. We fell in love, and I dated him for a year and four months. We're currently broken up because of issues, but we're trying to work through them.

Oh, and practically everyone in my band is dating someone else in the band lol. Guard and DL take the cake though. Last year, we had 3 DL-Guard relationships. Two of which lasted over a year and are still going on now if you count mine as going on.

There's no point in dating anybody who's not in band! (Or choir, for that matter...) Only cool people are in band! And you don't wanna date someone who's not cool, do ya? Lol. I'm currently in a "band-lationship" with a trumpet (I'm a flute) and my friend (also a flute) is with a tuba, and my other friend is a percussionist, who's with a french horn... the list goes on and on.

And I'm even dating within my section (to an extent... my jazz/pep band section anyway, we play different instruments for concert music). It just gives me an excuse to look forward to band even more, haha. Sure, we got teased some (and we probably will get teased in the future, because that's just how our band is XD), but it's not that bad.

There have been "band-lationships" in at school but most of them have ended pretty badly. And I rather not date anyone in my band sweatdrop Not that there is anything wrong with anyone in band but yeah....Its better to date someone out side of band incase the break up gets mad and everyone knows and it ends up being a very large mess.Thats just my point of view for my band though blaugh

My flute section leader(she's AWESOME) is going out with our Homecoming king(trumpet section leader).
...do I see a pattern here?
Here's the relationships I know of:
Percussionist(Not in band this year) + Flute Percussionist + Flute Trumpet + Flute Trombone + Saxaphone Trombone + Trumpet?(They like each other but don't want to express it!)
...
I agree when people say if you don't date a band geek you shouldn't date at all. XD
I mean, think about it, you both like music...why not date?! Makes perfect sense.
Plus, the girls in my band are all cute in some way and the entire flute section either admires me or thinks I'm cute.
...it's good to be a male flutist. XD
