@JK: It's okay; Shizuka is definitely one of those characters that is a bit of an acquired taste. XD But I can vouch that she is at least a little less annoying in the Japanese anime compared to the dub and the manga. Her voice in the dub is just so whiny... like she's always going to cry. And every time I think of her, all I can remember is hearing this one quite, "I'm scared you guys..." that was so whiny and annoying I wanted to smack her. Then in the manga, she's far more of a minor character, who doesn't really do anything. At least in the anime, she dove in the water to save her brother (right after recovering her sight), learned to duel decently enough, and showed some bravery for Jounouchi's, Mai's, and Honda's sakes here and there. And she didn't whine about it like she did in the dub. Of course, she still had her weak moments (like when she refused to get her surgery because Jounouchi hadn't shown up to the hospital, and when she was too scared to continue the duel at first when Honda was 'killed'), but she usually made up for them, and then tried her hardest to improve herself, and to be more brave for the people she cared about.
It's not so awesome having gray hair at the moment, since it's only a few hairs here and there, and I keep seeing them in the mirror and think I got white stuff in my hair or something. XD;;
I saw the scene in Japanese at first, where Kaiba saves Jounouchi, since the manga hadn't started airing in English yet, and I was like, "O_o Kaiba, what the ******** are you doing?! Are you trying to kill him?!" then Jounouchi grabbed the key and swam up, and so I forced myself to translate some, and realized Kaiba was just trying to test Jounouchi's limit... still, what an a*****e! But I love him... ~_~;;
@Apo: Shizuka's my favorite female character too! X3 Mai comes in second, then probably Isis. Mana is pretty cool too.
@Ghost: Ah, okay, then we're really close in age. XD I'm a Sophomore in college right now, though I'm so old because I have one of those birthdays that just baaarely missed the cut-off date to be old enough to get into kindergarten, so I ended up being one of the oldest kids in my grade every year. Though I miss seeing my friends as often as I did in high school, I think I prefer college, because of how much freedom you have. It's also nice being able to drive now, since I can visit my friends freely outside of school. You get a lot of homework in college though, which I hate. XP
Dude! There's nothing wrong with having a fictional role model! D: Sailor Jupiter was mine when I was younger, and now it's actually one of my own original characters... it's like... I designed him as my ideal type of person, and now I strive to match that ideal myself. XD;;
Naturally, my hair is super dark brown. I've never dyed it before, though I probably will dye is temporarily black for Halloween this year, since I'm going to be Elphaba/The Wicked Witch of the West. I have the right hair style and length already for her, so I'm not bothering with a wig this time.
I feel old too. XD I'm already getting weird stuff going on like a cyst in my ankle and sore shoulders and little itchy bumps always on my legs. I need to get a physical; it's been too long... ~_~;;
@JK: Isn't it fun roleplaying characters you don't like? XD I tend to enjoy it as well, somehow.

@Kitsune - Yea, whining is not the way to my heart haha. Even so she's one of the characters I dislike the least so she definitely has the most redeeming qualities. Like no tired friendship speeches...^_~. I suppose finding white stuff in my hair might be annoying, guess you'll just need a few more grey hairs then xp .
Hmm...I think I might have liked the scene better if I was initially confused about Kaiba's intentions. Would have at least given me more of an emotional response to what was going on then just "that's lame."
and it is TONS of fun to roleplay characters I don't like. It feels very free I think 3nodding .
Oh and noting your comment to Ghost, my brother was like that too, the age cut off. His birthday is 3 days after it so while he did grade K sufficiently at a private school, when they were trying to transfer him into the elementary school I was at they forced him to do it again. He could have stayed at the private school, done first grade, and then transferred (they don't make you redo first unless you need to). But my parents wanted us at the same school. I guess as a guy it isn't such a bad thing to be one of the oldest in your grade. So he's a junior in college now rather than a senior.
@Whoever - and what? YGO characters are annoying at times? That's certainly news to me. They are all so serious and pragmatic and follow logical paths of destiny while sporting the most hip and with it fashion statements of the Goodwill. No no no, I have to say with few exceptions I've noticed no annoying attributes at all... rofl

@Kitsune~ My birthday is in December so I was always average in terms of age with kids in my grade... but for some reason December birthdays were rare so I was always the odd birthday girl in my classes... I was odd in general.. I was the little girl that swung by herself at recess because no one would play with me I wish I could drive! My parents were always too busy taking each other to court to help me become independent. I didn't get my permit till I was 17 and then no one would take me driving... so here I am, an 18 year old college student that can't drive with no money because she can't drive. Then my parents are always mad when I tell them I need money.... -sighs-
I've always had problems with my joints but it seems to be a lot worse now that I'm older.. I have carpal tunnel & tendinitis but that runs in the family and is common for artists, I guess. My back always hurts too, but that is caused by my chest size (my sisters are lucky that I took their portion of gene pool in that area). I've never been in top physical condition(I've never been fond of the outdoors) but I've never had any illnesses caused by lack of actually working out.
@Apo & Jk~ I think my favorite female character would have to be Mana... just because she become DMG... Mai was okay till season 4 but then she turned all evil and crazy so I lost interest in her... I used to like Isis but when she dueled Seto I lost interest in her when she basically told him he fails...

@Ghost - I'd probably agree with you on Mana, she's at least my 2nd favorite - I think if she had more time than just a small part in the final arc it would be no contest. I also love Mahaddo, and as DMG and DMG girl are my favorite cards all is just so spiff. I do recall Mai becoming annoying but as I watched Domo - end pretty much all within the span of a few weeks, on youtube (and yes I missed some episodes - oh and the whole Kaiba Grand Prix or whatever arc, that's not on youtube, neither was Noas arc but I had seen that on TV) I didn't really get a chance to build up annoyance with her. So my opinion/judgment is mostly based on DK and BC - in which I love her lots. And yup, Isis got on my nerves too.
Also noting your comment to Kitsune, I use to play alone too - mostly because the idea of talking to other kids didn't cross my mind. I had my own elaborate fantasy world and I found no reason why I'd come out of my head and live in reality. At the end of 2nd grade (2nd grade was my first year at this school) one girl started playing near me (I knew her from GS but we never really talked) and somehow we became friends and I began living more in the waking world.
One of my other close elementary friends was a new girl in third grade. She had been "shown around" by all the "popular" girls all week and then randomly came up to me and "asked me to be her friend." While I of course was confused I didn't exactly think I could say no. So yea, I tried to be weird and anti-social as a kid - but throughout elementary school nobody around me would let me have it, hahaha. I think it's a leo thing...^_~.
Besides, I think it's much better to have good true friends than multiple friends. Also, one of my best freakin' friends is about to turn 23 - and STILL has no license, so don't feel too bad on that account either... razz

Yes, for a while for that scene I was all, "Was Kaiba trying to kill Jounouchi? Or... *fangirl heart thump* was he trying to SAVE him??? OMG! But that's so dumb! And I'm just really confused and suck at translating Japanese but here I go anyway!" In the end, apparently Kaiba wanted to test how long Jounouchi could hold his breath, but at the same time did intend to save him, since he 'pitied his stupidity, in that he would take time to take off his duel disk instead of grabbing his key' XD. That was pretty funny though. Kaiba's excuses for saving him... >_> Please let me have my fangirlish fantasies in peace!
The school system is silly. What makes it even worse is that like allll my best friends from high school are a year ahead of me. They all graduated the year before me, and left me alone in high school when I was a senior. ;_; If I had just been born a little sooner, that wouldn't have happened...

@Ghost: Awww, for me, as fate would've had it, my next door neighbor was my same age, so we grew up playing together and went to school together. XD Through her, I met other friends, and then my parents forced me to do girl scouts, so I got other friends through that. It just seemed like fate didn't want me to be the lonely girl I was supposed to. I never felt like I quite fit with my elementary school friends though... I think I just didn't understand that I was the type of person who could do fine without friends, so clung to these people I didn't even really get along with that well anyway. But then I got to high school and met my current group of friends, and suddenly it seems like I couldn't live without them. XD
Aww, the only reason I'm driving now is because college is too far away not to, and my parents don't have time to drive me around. I hate driving, and was terrified of learning, but it was a necessity.
Wow, our bodies sound a lot alike. The artist hand thing, and the chest thing, and the not being fit, but not suffering for it thing. XD;;
I kind of have started to understand where Mai was coming from better in Doma, though I still would've preferred if she hadn't've acted like that. However, you can tell that that wasn't who she really was or wanted to be, and she did get passed it, so I still love her, especially since that never even happened in the manga. Isis is such a loser sometimes, but I still like her. XD
@JK: See, I've never liked the Black Magician Girl, so I was surprised that I ended up liking Mana. XD I do believe though that 4Kids has been adding dub YUU*GI*OU episodes to a YouTube channel, so you might want to check that out.
Somehow I seem to be that person who doesn't get along with anyone, but if I sense a 'nerd aura' to someone, then I usually open up to them more. XD I've ended up getting a lot of friends, but I still consider most of them really good friends, rather than just casual friends. I don't get how I ended up having so many...

Oh def have all the peaceful fangirlish fantasies you like, hehe. I think the big thing for me and that is it wasn't a surprise (like I said my friend told me) so I built up expectations which weren't met, so it was kind of "aww." I think I would have felt much differently about the whole thing had my friend said nothing. Stupid friend...haha.
And yea most of my friends tend to be my age or younger. I think leaving half my friends behind and watching them continue to have fun without me in old routines while I was stressed was college probably sucked as much as being left behind. If you are going to be alone it just seems easier to be so in the familiar. I could be wrong though.
I don't think Mana is as much like Magician Girl as Mahaddo is like his counterpart, so that doesn't seem too surprising. And yea I have a lot of friends I consider really good friends, and they are really good friends. Although sometimes that's stressful because there are so many different people I want to hold onto, and nobody holds onto that many right? Most people grow up to only retain a handful of the friends of their youth, so I wonder who am I going to lose?
Also, you might have noted I have further shortened your username. I can ramble on and on endlessly and yet am so lazy when it comes to names, I compulsively shorten them (however in actuality I love long names precisely because they can be shortened. My 4 letter real name is therefore an epic fail). If you tell me not to do this I will attempt to remember to fight compulsion. If not you might be Kits for awhile, unless I think of something better... 4laugh

@Kitsune~ I had some friends as a child but they would either move away or decide that I was a complete freak and blow me off I know what you mean about the nerd thing.. I'm a huge nerd myself and when I sense another nerd I explode all over them especially anime and such. I dress like a nerd too... today I wore my retro Rockman shirt today and my Triforce shirt yesterday... I also have pokemon, Rurouni Kenshin, Yuske and Hiei, lots of Charlie the Unicorn, retro Bowser and various other nerd shirts... I <3 my Boo shirt and my Blues.exe shirt~<3
I actually impressed people with my shirts.....
I hate not being able to drive... I have to walk to and from my school, but I live on campus so it's not that bad I guess... but I have to lug all my art junk 30 minutes one way and back... I just wait till winter....
As for Mai, I guess I find it flustering that she was all like 'I hate you Jou and you little group so I'm gonna be a biotch and a half and try to kill you' and after Jou lost her soul she snapped out of her attitude problem.... it's kinda like Noa, but at least no one actually died that wasn't dead to start with...
@JK~ I made a fwe friends like that in High School... and for some reason all the kids that thought I was a freak in elementary were super nice to me and wanted to be friends.... needless to say, I rejected them... >=3
If you go to youtube and lookup lumistar29 or something like that, she has every ep in English up...
I HATE not being able to find a show on youtube... I'm trying to find eps of Rockman.exe but NO ONE on the internet seems to host them.... it makes me sad because they only showed a small fractions of the show here in America... and then they didn't even release them all to dvd!! It's one of my most favorite animes and I can't find it to watch it!
I think it's kinda weird that everyone that wanted to be alone had friends and vise versa....

I think I would've preferred being alone in a new environment, because I was left with a bunch of little J Rock fangirls who felt the need to see me as their 'Sempai' and follow me around everywhere. It's like they decided to corner me once my herd had left me... *shivers* That was a sucky year, and I very much preferred starting college all alone and not knowing where to go.
Waah, I don't want to think of losing my current friends! D: *luffs them too much*
I don't mind you shortening my username. You can pretty much use any variation you want of it without bothering me, as long as it's not Kit. I had a friend who always called me that and well... she was a total b***h, and stole my Neopets account when I trusted her with my password. So I don't care for that name so much anymore. Kits is cute though. XD
@Ghost: Awww, but it can still hurt thinking back on difficult childhood memories. D:
Heehee, nerd explosion. XD Most of my shirts are video game ones from Wal-Mart, because I'm too cheap to order all the awesome Charlie the Unicorn and Boo ones online, though I do know what shirts you're talking about, and have wanted them very much. XD
Oh, you're an art student too? Totally know your pain. We have a huuuge campus, and it's not fun trying to figure out how to carry those giant sketchbooks while riding a scooter... XD;; It's worst for us in the summer though, since it's so friggin' hot, but doesn't snow in the winter.
Yeah, Mai went pretty crazy in Doma. I think part of it was Orichalcos messing with her mind. Another part was her fear of what Yami no Malik did to her; she had to deal with her first game of darkness without feeling like she had any support from the people she was just barely feeling secure enough with to consider friends, and then she lost, and was tortured for it. Varon took advantage of how freaked out she was after that, and got her to join him, and then she started using Orichalcos, and went nuts like all the other characters who were using it. If anything, I think it says a lot about her that she was able to regain control of herself for Jounouchi's sake.
People who bullied me in elementary school were suddenly nice to me in high school as well. XD It was strange.
Aww, that's too bad, about your Rockman.

@Ghost - lumistar29 *makes mental check mark* thanks! I watched most of the Egyptian Arc in Japanese half guessing what was going on, half looking up what was going on in between segments. Haha. I was on a roll and wasn't going to let language barriers halt me.
Hmm...don't watch Rockman so not sure I can help you back...umm, have you checked Veoh, Dailymotion, and surfthechannel? Those are usually the first places I hit up (the last of which being kind of cool b/c it links to a lot of other sites). I wish you luck.
I just used Dailymotion to finish Yami no Matsuei which I realize was recommended my way by Kitsune (as well as this manga Okane ga Nai which I recently found and started reading) over a year ago. Coincidences are fun! I suppose this means I didn't discover Okane but subconsciously remembered it, hehe. And gah I love YnM SOOOOOO much *explodes with happiness*...I wanna read the manga but I hate incomplete things, I probably shouldn't torture myself.
@Kits - Ok Kits it is! Hehe, if that ever becomes too close to Kit let me know - I do promise never to steal your neopets!!!
I just don't (well, I'd like to say didn't - I am working on this and I feel I've had much success) handle change well so it was hard to me adjust being so far from home and almost alone - my best friend was there too but college kind of drove a wedge between us. We are still friends, but we are only recently starting to hang out more again (and not just be friends by default), though this at least makes me happy. But yes sad thing to think about, changes subject away: So yea like the Abridged Series...haha, that's what this thread was too right?
@whoever I feel like I'm turning (or at least contributing to turning) all the threads to tangents. Oops!
SO yea 42 was the last new episode of the abridged series right? I want more!!! Also I wish LK would go back to updating the TAS site, that was more convenient. I search on youtube and I either miss things or I end up pulling episode ## from the first season. Yes this IS a serious plight.

@Kitsune~ I go to Hot Topic for my shirts... I don't like buying over the internet with the whole ALL SALES ARE FINAL thing.. besides, at the store you can try it on to see if it'll fit. Yeah, I'm an art student... and I hate having to walk around with my sketchbooks... I've hit too many people with them cause of their massive size...
I never took that into account... never thought of it as Valon taking advantage of her... I mean, I always thought that he wouldn't do anything like ot her since he had a thing for her... but I didn't really pay attention during that arc... like Night said, I was bored.... lol
@JK~ Yeah, I've been to youtube and veoh... people are starting to put a few eps in English up FINALLY after like, what? 5 years? I'll have to check those other two site out.. And when it comes to Rockman, all the "hardcore" gamers play the Xseries because it's the "toughest" series in the Rockman franchise... so not a lot of people actually watched the anime which is a shame, the animation beautiful and storyline is wonderful(I'm more character-based plot than anything), especially during Axess( broke my haert, that it did).
As for the abridged series, he's working on ep 43. He said so on his youtube account.

Yea, it sucks when you can't find things, especially since anime is so bloody expensive. If it was reasonably priced I'd just buy it, it's not that I don't want to buy things, but $30-$50 for something like 4 episodes is ridiculous. I bought Chrono Crusade though awhile ago (that and Loveless are the only series I have that aren't burnt) because it was under $30 for the whole 24 episode anime which was more than reasonable. I haven't even seen it yet but it's possibly my favorite manga series so I figured the price was good enough to buy it blind (and I hear that it's supposedly pretty true to the manga, so yea).
I'll let you know though if I think of anywhere else and/or happen to stumble across Rockman.exe

Aww, thanks<3 It's also called Megaman... the anime was called Megaman NT Warrior here in the states.
I would LOVE to buy it on dvd but in order to get the WHOLE series I'd have to buy from Japan and I don't have $60 to spend on 4 episodes at one time... I'd end up spending over $3000 for the whole series, not including the movie. I feel bad for watching it online, but for now it's all I can do. Besides, Capcom has gotten enough of my money through Mega... heaven know how much I've spent on the games and I have the whole .exe manga series... why do people have to make kick a§ series?? They take all my money!
LK says it's comeing along smoothly, so hopefully it'll be up soon<3
