Sunstrike In FAAAACT if we demodded all the mods that get emo and throw a hissy fit...we'd be down to the ones that aren't here/don't do anything/don't give a flying ******** populace is probably something you could attach the same statistic to. Cause you know, being one outta three ain't so bad.
i'm standing RIGHT HERE.
fenix> lately, it's all we're doing. somoene gets offended, half the people laugh, half the people get up in arms, so we're deciding who's more correct in their feelings and punishing some party.

Is this still over the Akira thing? On how B didn't do anything, and whatever? Good. Kraun shouldn't have had to do anything. The situation was handled. Akira didn't like it, he stopped posting, and went somewhere else for a couple hours. Then it was Reiko and Shou talking amongst themselves about p***y. Reiko talking about p***y!? MY GOD. SO NEW AND FRIGHTENING.

What does it matter? Mods don't need to get involved, let them take it out into IC and fight. That's how it was done in 03 and through 04. I mean, it's not solving anything if mods interfere, they're only really apologizing because a Mod said to apologize. Which makes it pointless.

Jello mentioned a republic. Republics are very good, and they work as long as the voting populace actually knows the facts about who they are voting for. In a close-knit situation like a guild, that will obviously be the case since everyone knows everyone else, or at least the people that are popular enough to be considered for voting.
Has there been a vote at any point in recent history, a guild-wide vote, to elect the moderation staff? In the backreading that I've done, it seems that the senior mods simply pick newer mods: the elite promoting the elite. That is NOT a republic, that's more of an oligarchy, and that's no good. What it means, to put it simply, is that those with power are representing those with power, and not those without.
Of course, I haven't been around much, so it is entirely possible there was a vote and I just missed it. If that's the case, mad props ... or something?

fenix1> more than that, it extends to baldy's banning of parties responsible for making akira feel uncomfortable and his leaving for 24 hours since he can't be banned by more than enki or vahn.
fenix2> let's close the thread for a month. OLD SCHOOL MONTH.
kana> who wants him demodded amongst mods? sierra's the only i've heard about who comes close to it.
sun> what about threads? sorry.

Yes, Old School Month.
And none of this "but we want the ooc thredd" tomfoolery. *gives X ten dollars to keep from being sued*
Then we can all see how our e-feelings are doing in thirty days.

Direct quote from Josh, since he can quote me when he pleases, I'll quote him: "Ed dictator'd B in and we've been voting on demoting him.", "...you see is arguments in the OOC. Which B was in charge of. Which he definitely shouldn't be in charge of anymore."
Baldy is quite clearly causing a problem. People want him de-modded.

Old school settlements are so much more interesting and actually settle the disagreement. Personally though, E-feelings are crock of bull. Why should anyone give s**t about someone else feelings over the internet? ... It's like throwing sticks at ghosts...

Omg... e-feelings this... e-feelings that... there is no such thing as "e-feelings" there are only FEELINGS... that can actually be hurt... and people can actually be insulted.
Levi is supposed to be a community where people can come to have fun and relax. They shouldn't have to worry about being insulted and harassed. They should be able to depend on the Moderators to show them some kind of support and to not just sit back and watch and go, "Hey, that person's cool, let's give him a shiny badge and make him a mod because we like him." The members make this community, not the mods and the mods should show the members just a little more respect and they should do their jobs like they're supposed to.
Don't give me any of this e-feelings bullshit. Just because you people can be apathetic about everything in life doesn't mean that everyone else can. People talk on the internet and things are said on the internet and anything that is said, whether vocal or written, can hurt another person.
That's why they have cases and disputes over Internet Bullying and Harassment. If it wasn't a real problem, there wouldn't be legal cases saying it is.

Why should anyone be nice when everyone but a few are not nice? It makes no sense... People never cared about my feelings by what they say to me, so why should I care about theirs? Or anyone's for that matter for the possibility of them being a d**k? Of course I'm not going to blatantly yell at someone. "You're a c** drinking dirt bag." Without any probable cause, but I'm not going E-pat someone on the back either... Furthermore, I'm not going to have someone else settle my dispute over someone, I'm a grown young man, I know how to write... and display what needs to be said to rectify the situation.

All this can be YOURS for the low, LOW price of $99.95! Mods should not be here to hold the hands of people that get offended when they, themselves have the tools to stop it.
