"Want company? Not yet been to there. Far distant nor near even unknown."

Just then A.C. came back with a Coke, and lemonade, and a bottle of something alcoholic. "Dig in," she invited, setting the manicotti and Coke in front of Blitz and the beer and spagetti in front of Corellia. She took the lemonade and ravioli. "Hope you don't mind pop, Blitz. I forgot to ask about drinks, and I tend to just get people Coke when I don't know what they drink." She shrugged and started eating. "You want something else, lemme know."

"Coke is fine thank you." He quickly inspected his manicotti for spit, drugs, or any other foreign object. "Your company would be much appreciated." He was about to check the coke too, but his hunger won out over his paranoia and he began to eat.

"What? Core, where are you going?" A.C. asked over her pasta. Blitz's coke was spiked with extra sugar, but that was all. His third piece of manicotti, however, contained a fingernail, just to see what he would do. Normally, this restaurant is suspiciously clean.

"Some such metropolis as might be called--twas it Krovh?--or the like. We've neither of us ventured to it, so an adventure it mayhaps might be. Good spagetti," she added.

Blitz was pleased by the extra sugar, so when he got to the nail, he just put it off to the side and didn't mention it. He simply nodded at the mention of Krovh, Corellia was doing a good enough job explaining on her own.

A.C. was displeased both that Blitz didn't make a scene over the nail--so she could politely inform him that he needn't ever return if he didn't like their cooking--and that the extra sugar didn't make him hyper. She secretly loved watching people hyped up on a sugar rush.

"Hm," was all she said about it. "So, whatcha ya gonna do there, Core? Get in a fight, join the war, wander aimlessly as usual..." Her voice ended with a bite.

Corellia considered her as she twirled some spagetti on her fork, and took a mouthful before answering. "Dunno. Don't have thought as'n to what might be there, so we'll see on arrival, I expect. Unless Blitz knows more 'bout the city th'n I, which is no doubt likely. Why, Sarli? Did you wish to come with or some such? I've a thought as to your business." She pronounced it "busy-ness."

"Like Hell," A.C. sneered back.

Corellia slapped her. "You know," she said when A.C. looked at her. "Thou art to mind thy tongue, save not even when alone."

"Eat your spagetti, Corellia," A.C. ordered back darkly, leaning her head on her hand--oh so gently--to cover the mark. "I'm no child, and I'll mind my tongue when I choose."

Corellia's eyes fell flat and narrowed. "Ye shall mind it in my presence, girl. Ye're a child to my years and memory, no matter the look of ye in versus. Mind the lessons taught in youth," she reprimanded, meeting A.C.'s eyes over the point of her fork, "nor wind nor sword shall I come for you with, nor the Lord, methinks. Yet lose our wisdoms to the cause of manners and the world entire shall someday crash upon thee." She resumed eating. "Surliness be'n a bit uncalled for, I'd suggest't to ya that ye apologize."

A.C. just glared at her, then started picking at her own food and pretending to eat it.

Corellia tapped her fork on her plate impatiently, not looking back up.

A.C. glared up at her again, then jerked her head over to Blitz and muttered "Sorry" really fast, like an sullen child, not meaning it.

Now I wonder. Is it me, or is Corellia the one she doesn't want to travel with.Blitz smiled at the whole scene, but that smile faded when he realized that he would be traveling with Corellia. Would she call him out too? They were going to be traveling across dangerous territory and the odds were high that he'd let out a 'god damn it' or '******** hell'. "Apology accepted." he replied back just as quickly.

A.C. looked like she was about to shoot back another childish response, but she bit it off. Don't act like a child, Aryn, she said to herself. The more you do, the more she'll treat you like you're five still. Just--let it go. Breathe. She took a quiet breath and let it out.

"Now, see, that wasn't so hard!" Corellia said brightly. She sounded like a mother who finally got her child to show a modicum of decorum, and was too tired to push sincerity. She turned to Blitz apologetically. "Don't mind her, Blitz, she's just sulky sometimes. sometimes I think she's still six, with all the..." Corellia kept talking, but it just sounded like a recitation of a modern mother's babble.

It is so weird to hear that from someone who looks like a teenager... A.C. finished her ravioli and quietly got up. "If you'll excuse me, folks, the evening crowd is coming in soon and I have to get back to work. You two have fun in Krovh."

Starting to leave, she had a sudden thought and turned back to Blitz. "Just so you know... She only does this to me because she met me when I was very young. I don't know how much she remembers and how much she's blocked, but even when I got older she always treated me the way she did the day I fell off her garden wall; like I was a delinquent kindergartener. I can't seem to shake it--somehow she always brings out the inner child--" she gave him a wryly twisted smile "--but she doesn't do it to anyone else I know of. Swear all the ******** you like." And before Corellia could correct her, A.C. has gone.

Blitz nodded his head to Corellia, only half listening. "Have a good day at work." He half yelled to the fleeing A.C. Lying b***h. He turned to Corellia. "So when should we head out?"

((Lying..? cool Actually, that was a rare moment of total honesty...))

Corellia shrugged after a long moment looking after A.C. "When the meal is done, I suppose. Sarli will not present me a bill, and I shall not allow her to offer you the like. I'll finish shortly." She had two bites left.
PostPosted: Thu May 17, 2007 8:53 pm

"Sounds good. But if you'll excuse me, there's something I gotta do while you finish up." Blitz got up from his seat and strolled toward the exit. Within 3 seconds of the door closing, he returned wearing a completely different set of clothes.

Corellia ate her last two bites and exited the booth, wiping her mouth on a napkin. Seeing Blitz, she raised an eyebrow... just like A.C. does. "Quick change. What be the provokation?"

((Is he wearing anything radically different, or just like changing one T-shirt out for another?))

((Radically different. He broke into the closest apartment he could find and robbed some clothes. The shirt is pink and a size too small.))

He shrugged. "I don't like walking around in dirty clothes. I hadn't changed since the fight, and it was bothering me."

Corellia burst out laughing. "Wherefore ye chose such attire, I shall never contemplate. Shall we away?" She couldn't stop laughing, but she held out her hand like an old-fashioned English lady (the way ladies hold out their hand for a man to kneel and kiss) for him to take and lead her out the door.
