oh gosh...this one caught my eye...its bursting with cuteness!! heart my new years resolution:be cute gonk heart sorry I cant get on much but I see yuu has been able to! you know the holidays plus chinese new year! cant wait but I'm here and ready for some clerising! oh would you mind if I posted a few pictures?

but this made me happy because even though I have no clue what a mary-sue is from this I'm pretty sure aerith isnt!

This is good. To the point, I likies... When it's put that way, Aeris is definitely NOT a Mary-Sue. Mary-Sue's are basically hardcore fangirls who often put themselves in the story in fanfic or fanart or fan-anything form, and whatever they desire (more like whoever they desire) is theirs. And they are often very VERY annoying to the point where you just want to find a way to physically reach them through the internet and strangle them to death where they go to hell where there are no bishies or no anime or no manga, nothin' just real people and they live out their miserable lives and there are no fantasies for them no hopes for their pathetic little wishes and everyone is ugly; even them.
So yea, that's a Mary-Sue. Good day. sorry about that rant heart sweatdrop

no no! your rant was o so lovely thanks so much! now I understand heart I do very much agree that Aeris the original self is not a Mary Sue. However, what I'm about to say is very mean.... A Mary Sue is was many Aeris fans have turned Aeris into. When Aeris-bashers call her Mary Sue it is nearly always in reference to Cleris fanfiction. How so? There is another method to being Mary Sue... to be fair plenty of Cloti have done this to but not nearly as frequently and badly as Cleris. The second method of being Mary Sue is when the character is only the same character in name. The fangirl author has altered the character (unintentionally usually but still) to be the what is basically the author if she were Aeris. This result in Aeris losing all of her depth... she either becomes Belldandy or essentially what you see above. And since many people do not try and avoid distinguishing between was the character is and what fandom has turned the character into; Aeris in the eyes of her bashers sadly she has been turned into by her own fans... a Mary Sue.

thats why I'm not a big fanfic fan I only read a few if friends recommend

but wait...I'm not one of these people am I? err I hope not gonk Honestly, I really couldn't say if you yourself were or not. I haven't read any fanfiction on Aeris by you. As much as you talk about your fandom and defend it... I've never seen you give an indepth essay on why you like Aeris without attaching her to someone else, and (no offense) but most of what I do see in your essays usually simply parrots others' opinions. But it's not that hard for you yourself can find out. Just look at Aeris this way... 1: If all other characters were to drop of the face of existence... no relationships, no friendships... just the character... do you still like her? 2: Can you think of any faults no matter how small in the character? If so, do you like the character despite these faults? 3: Finally, take away all of her tragedy... she now has never gone through any bad experiences... do you still like her? If you can get through these questions honestly... then no, you're not a Mary Sue Aeris fan.

ya I know well now if I write up something its usually just my own words
atfirst I guess the reason I used others essays was because I never really had my own opinion on where I stood in the whole love triangle debate
its kinda new for me so I guess I tried reading through and observing other peoples arguments and tried to figure out what I most agreed with
I mean when I first played ffvii I never knew some whole debate was going on I played it the way I precieved it so I mean I do have my own preferences just didnt know how to use that and try and make a point
1. of course. the first square game I ever played was kingdom hearts believe or not then FFX then FFVII VII IX etc
and I really liked Aerith in kingdom hearts I really didnt know much about cloud and plus you met cloud later in the game[or atleast I think]
I justiked her attitude and how she was nice [plus she gives you curaga whee ] but ya she was my first favorite character
because before I was a cleris fan I was an aerith fan
the reason I got intersted in final fantasy was not only because of kh itself but I wanted to know more about aerith and the other final fantasy characters
seeing the end of kingdom hearts I guess sparked my cxa interest
just not as big as I am now
2.aerith isnt perfect I mean no one is. I mean if she was perfect why would she need a bodyguard? also I know she isnt always happy like the time in cosmo canyon. she's a regular human she gets jealous happy angry w/e. and of course I still like her. always have always will
3.well I guess it depends. if nothing bad happened to her and that overall changed her completely then we'd have to see. but as long as she stays true to herself reguardless if she had a good or a bad life then its all good
ok then I'm pretty sure I'm not a mary sue then : D
