::The door to room 11 flung open and Nyx stepped out into the hall. She pushed the door closed and started down towards the main room, but she froze dead in her tracks just as she passed the door to room 7(?). It was just barely open a crack. She stared at it for a moment. Silently, she tapped the door with foot to get it open just a little more and peeked her head in.::
::Blink.::
Tavin...?

Hi... yeah, it's been a while. ::She paused, looking down to the floor thoughtfully, then back to Tavin.:: So, um... how are you doing?

Well, Nyx... I've been better. But i would suppose that any time I'm not nearly dead is a better time than when I am. Its given me some time to think, though. And think quite a lot.. Frankly, I've had so much time to think, its been scaring me.

Hum... ::Nyx drew in a breath and looked at the floor once again. She went silent for a painfully long moment.::
And... what sort of things have you been thinking about, with all the extra time you've been given?

About us. About The Brink. About The Seraphim. Mostly... about the future. Both of The Brink itself... as well as those of everyone here...
*Tavin snapped out of his haze of inner reflection*
But what about you, Nyx? What have you been thinking about? What's on your mind?

Wellll. ::She pushed the door open all the way and stepped into the room, leaning up against the wall opposite the bed.::
I've been thinking about The Brink a lot, too. I'm starting to wonder why I let myself get so deep into all of this. I always wonder how things would have been if I'd have been able to turn my back on everyone I met here before it was too late, before I got so... attatched.

........................ and do you think that things would have been better for you if you had not come here? Do you believe that it was a mistake that you came?

Yeah... I do believe I would have been better off, but I don't believe it was a mistake that I came. Everything happens for a reason, right?

Or so they say. Frankly, I don't believe that everything happens for a reason. I think that many things occur for no real reason at all. And I don't believe that you WOULD have been better off if you had never come here, either.
Let me tell you a story. There was a man who climbed to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro, a mountain that was quite inhospitable. Along the way, he ran into wolves and storms, avalanches, and illnesses. When he finally made it back down, he was barely alive. They had to amputate a leg from frostbite, and innoculate him to help control several diseases, not to mention inflating a collapsed lung. After six months of recovering in intensive care, a nurse looked him over and mused, "All of these injuries you've sustained.... I'll bet you wish that you had never even gone in the first place." But the man looked back at her and smiled. "What I have braved, very few have ever braved. What I have accomplished, even fewer have attempted. And what I saw on that expidition was something that less than a hanful of people have seen. No, I wouldn't trade that for a new leg or a new lung. I wouldn't trade that for the entire world.
*That said, Tavin closes his eyes and lays back down on the pillow, unable to stay concious any longer*

Tavin, I... I... ::Nyx stopped as Tavin drifted out of conciousness. She quickly moved over to his bedside to make sure he was alright. Letting out a deep sigh, she plopped herself down into the nearby chair.::
::And she just sat there, solemnly watching over her friend and musing over what he'd said, until she disappeared.::

**Enter Maggie from Main Room, 326**
*Maggie walks down the hall from the main room, her steps slowing as she approaches Room 7. She pauses outside the door for a moment, then opens it slowly. She can see that Tavin is still asleep, so she enters very quietly, moving across the room to stand by the bed. He looks much improved since last she saw him*
I'm sorry, Tavin. *she whispers, still feeling guilty for how she reacted to him in her panic before* I'll tell ye again when ye're awake . ..

Tac runs into the rooms area, stops at his door to prop it open with a boot, then runs back to the main area.
Several minutes later he slowly returns, dragging an unconscious Cora. He slowly and carefully drags her into his room, and to his bed. Not saying it wasn't difficult or anything though. He's not exactly known for upper body strength without magical aid. After he is sure she is safely on the bed and soundly sleeping he pulls over a chair and simly sits next to the bed for a while, staring at her arm. Its not a critical or judgemental stare, but merely...curious. She had been...frightened when it began speaking and started to issue warnings. Perhaps she was alarmed that is was going to 'shut her down,' which it seems to have done. Without full mundane medical knowledge, he couldn't be sure if it was truly a tranquilizer in her system, but it was pretty obvious. Although the words 'system shut down' continued to ring in his head. He didn't connect them with biological systems, but more with technological. He shook it off after some time...Cora couldn't be a robot...could she? He found a piece of paper and something to write with, quickly drafting out a note in case she would not awake before he faded out, placing about her person where it wouldn't be readily seen by others if she went back to her time, but she would be able to find it. He didn't even stop to think about her ability to read it or not.
