Gaven had no luck in finding his way around the city and even less in making any sense of posted directions, the writing was too complex and they used rather large words. Finally he gave up and began looking for just any inn to stay that seemed nice. It was then he noticed the woman on the horse, looking exhausted and just a little frustrated. He decided to follow her on a gut instinct, hoping that she would lead him to an inn. His feelings proved right as he saw her lead her horse into an inn's stable. He regarded the inn for a moment before deciding he was too tired to look for another place and headed in.

The man at the desk looked up and kept looking up until his eyebrows nearly reached his hairline when he finally made eye contact with Gaven.

"How may I help you... sir?"

"I would like a room... and a hot meal... and a bath set up... please." Gaven answered, trying to figure how much staying here would cost him and remembering to be polite at the same time.

The man jotted that all down and looked back up at him, "Alright sir, we'll have a bath set up shortly and your meal will be prepared after that. Isabel, show the good sir to his room."

A maid came forward when her name was spoken and she took the slip of paper given to her by the man before nodding her head meakly and leading Gaven away. She kept her eyes down the entire time she led him and quickly left once she showed him his room. He shook his head, to tired to care at the moment as he entered his room and began to shed himself of armor and weapons.

Viken spent his hour enjoying the atmosphere and the... *ahem* company of Lucrecia's Lair. He enjoyed it so much in fact, that he took the time to meet the whole staff.

Suffice it to say, they were sad to see him leave.

Bidding them all farewell, Viken headed back to the forge to pick up his sword.

Hello?

Ah, there ya are. Startin' to get worried. How was the hour?

Viken grinned.

Quite enjoyable.

I'm not even gonna ask. Here.

Viken recieved his new sword. It was slightly lighter, and thus differently balanced than his last one. However, it wouldn't be too hard to adjust.

Thank you very much.

Just be careful with that around any dark people. It'll glow with the light of a thousand suns to them.

Viken grinned

Good to know. Thanks.

Viken headed back to the temple, armed with a new, light-imbued weapon. He walked up to a student at the entrance

So, who do I talk to about helping guard this temple?

Sir?

I'd like to help keep that... schmuck out of here as much as you would.

Well sir, talk to one of the temple guards, they're in charge of that aspect.

Thank you.

Viken headed into the temple to seek out a guard, or paladin.

Elisabeth watched the water mage head up the stairs with the child while she herself sat down at a table, requesting a light repast while she waited for the two men to get their act together and bring the things inside. She wasn't really hungry but she needed to keep up appearances. So she placed the spoon to her lips when the food came, making sure she was eating. Having always been prone to fainting spells, she knew she needed to eat regularly. She watched each member of the room, carefully taking note of faces and voices for future reference.

Himmley had awoken with a stupor his head clogged and his face saoking wet, thugs had been so kind as to give him something to drink to help wake him up, they just forgot the cup. Shortly after Himmley recognized he wasn't out on the streets anymore the thugs that had woken him up dragged him to a new area. Himmley soon found himself infront of the man that had knocked him out and seem to be the leader of these band of thieves. "So your awake" said the leader with a quaint smirk on his face. He muttered something to an associate at his side and then waved him off. Zaine didnt catch it cause he was still trying to clear his head from the throbbing pain.

"Well then whats your name? I never did catch it" Himmley didn't reply he was preety sure there was no point in telling him anyways. "Scum what a nice name, I like it" Some of the men in the room around him laughed to themselves at the horrible joke. "Well scum since you have a debt to pay and you dont fancy talking, ima put you to work immediately. This place needs a good tidying up so I think.." the leader stopped for a moment as one of his goons interupted him. "What?! Zaine did what?! Find him slit his throat I don't care what you have to do send some men afte rhim. No one gets out of my debt without paying the price!" The leaders slammed his fist down on table he was obviously annoyed. "I should of killed that Matzer while I had the chance, but he will get whats coming to him." His eye crossed over to Himmley for a moment and his mood changed a bit "Well arnt you lucky it seems scum, your the new Zaine around here. Your going to help with a kidnapping today." Himmley finnaly got the courage to speak up and quickly remarked "What if I just decide to run away like the last Zaine" The leader face grinned turned a bit wicked, "You wont be so lucky as him besides, Im preety sure I have something of interest to you." Himmley couldnt help but wonder what in the world he could have that Himmley would want. The only thing Himley had of meaning to him was his-- "Yes thats right I have your weapon its a fine piece of work as well, it should make a preety penny out in the market."

Himmle became obidient after that, his father weapon was the only thing he could keep from his past. Even if it wasn't something great it, it was the only thing that he could his. He sighed and muttered "What do I have to do?" Some adventure this turned out to be, instead of being the Hero, he was going to be the crook. He was preety sure there was an irony in there but Himmley wasn't in the mood to look for it. The leader smiled and began to talk "Well Zaine....

Himmley was suppose to help out with a heist of some rich person jewel. he was suppose to do mutch except sneak inside and open a few doors. He couldnt try to run because if he was caught inside he would proably be killed on sight by the house guards and if not the theives that were with him would. But the heist wasn't till night and he needed to acquainted with the area. Why the hell Himmley was being trusted with such a task was beyond his reason he guessed that theives were getting caught a lot more often these days. His mind wondered what the proable penaltys for theivery where while his body followed the thugs that were dragging him along to the building. He hated this, this wasnt what he had planned for he didnt want to be recruited into some theives gang. He wanted to stop theives and be the hero. He sighed and then thought at the stupidity of his earlier dreams. What was there to be a hero about, a war rages on quietly in the distance and how can one man stop that? He looked down and noticed one of the thugs that was leading him pickpocket somone that had been 'accidently knocked over' in the streets. He wish he was still starving rather than being here at this moment.

When Himmley eventually came up to the building they said they were going to heist, he didn't pay attention much to busy trying to think of a way to escape. So far he hadn't come up with mutch except that it wasnt going to happen soon. When Himmley was preety sure they looked over the place enough and where going to head back, one of the theives spoke in a hushed whisper "Alright Zaine, over the wall". Himmley blinked confused "It's still day! And my names Himmley." The theif retorted "Your name is mud as long as were still around, now move." Before Himmley could protest he was grabed and toss up the wall. He had to catch the ledge of the wall or fall back down on top of the others, something he was sure that would of ended with cutting of skin. Once he grabbed the ledge he pulled himself ontop but was still disoriented and quickly fell to the ground on the other side, landing on his head.

The noise Himmley made on the ground was a bit sickening and made the other theives wonder if Zaine had broke his head on the ground. One of thought it was funny but the others were to concerned about the jewel and being caught to laugh. After a couple attempts to talk with Zaine on the other side of the wall they heard a reply. They ordered him to open the gate and let them in. Oddly enough he complied with out objection, which made the theives think he was up to something.

When Himmley opened the gate he was shocked at how the theives just entered as if they were supposed to be there and no one second guessed it. He would of questioned more as to why he was allowed to do that, but stop trying to think after he felt the pain in his head grow worse. Something was about to go horribly wrong and Himmley didn't know whether to think it was headache that made him beleive that or just instinct.

As Hoshimi wandered out from the Temple of Light, she kept looking back as if somehow it wouldn't be true, that Tsai would be alive, that only his shoulder was injured, that he needed to sleep but her 'sight' told her otherwise, that he would be buried along with the rest of the students. At least it was an honorable death, gained fighting to protect her. She lifted a hand, the fabric from her silk kimono dropping to her elbow as she wiped away a tear. Tears would do no good now. She wasn't sure who she wanted to blame but it didn't seem fair that so much had been taken from her.

One foot in front of the other, the long silky black hair trailing her back side, the crowds seeming to part for the petite woman, who still radiated the authority of her postion even while mourning. The silver blue eyes glanced about her only to look around, still not really seeing anything. Passing by the river, she glanced down but for a second before a water spirit appeared and began flitting about her shoulders. It was then that one could see how truly beautiful the young woman was as her face lit up in a true sign of pleasure. At least she wasn't alone. And according to her stomach, the first order of business would be food. And there not 50 feet away, was a tavern. Gracefully, she stepped inside, not noticing how people moved back a few feet a little wary of one who could summon a spirit so easily and unconciuosly.

Getting the barkeeps attention, she asked for a simple bowl of rice and water and found an empty and secluded spot that looked clean and sat down, waiting for her food.

arrow Light Temple - Courtyard

"Is he going to be okay...?"

The question was asked in a barely audible tone, seeming to have more squeak to it than actual wording, though the intent was still clear. Edwin, a ten year old student in Sol's third class had been following the Sage around for the better part of an hour as Sol waded through the makeshift infirmary that had been made of the courtyard. The boy's brother had been knocked down when the crowd had rushed forwards before, and Edwin didn't know any better than to run to his teacher and ask for help.

"He'll be fine," Sol responded with a smile, though in an obviously tired tone... It had truly been a long day, and the young man was eagerly awaiting the end of it so that he could perhaps have a bit of rest and time to himself. Though, noticing how the boy clung to the hem of his robes and hugged closely behind his leg as he went about, checking on the other, more seriously injured patients, he saw that it would take a little bit more than that.

Bending at the knee, the Sage lowered himself down to the boy's level, resting one knee upon the ground as he looked down. He placed one hand calmly on Edwin's shoulder and smiled at the boy before adding, "...I promise."

Edwin sniffed sharply after that, bit his lower lip, and nodded.

"Th-thank you, teacher Sol!" the boy almost shouted, happy to hear that his brother would be alright; before he turned quickly around and ran down the aisle, nearly bumping into three acolytes, towards his brother.

"I doubt that," Mick said with a chuckle. "I bet you that the two are still conked out in their respective beds.... or so we should hope," he added, making an overly loud laugh then stopping abruptly, as he was accustomed to do when he made a not-entirely-funny joke.

"Tell you what Espa. I'll go out and find us some good grub; the stuff here is nothing compared to what we could cook on our own. If you need me, you know how to find me," the moon mage said, tapping his forehead with his right index finger. He then followed this with a quick kiss to Espa's forehead, saying, "Later!" and then slapping her on her butt before he ran off towards the market. They were going to eat like kings tonight, so help him, kings!

((If anyone would like to interact with the overly-charming Mick, now would be a good time to run into him))

She had finished a meal and felt the better for it. Tsai was never far from her mind but she had found the strength of will to stay strong as he had taught her. Hoshimi was tempted to go back to the temple but she needed to make sure of her feelings first about....well everything. So with payment for a tip in hand, she walked up to the counter, paid for her food and asked directions but recieved barely more then a grunt of such. The old silken robe was much worn for wear so she paid a little extra and was allowed a small room in which to change in. Quickly, she did so, finding much to be disgusted with in said room, but leaving much more elegantly attaired then before.

Once out of the tavern, Hoshimi lifted the fine silken sleeve and glanced about the crowded city, wondering where she was going to head to. Undecided in the least, she simply wandered about the city, trying to remain unobtrusive and for once, she apparently suceeded, only to land the young oriental woman (young as in 15 years old) right in the path of the ever so charming Mick who was simply barrelling down the road.....
PostPosted: Sat May 14, 2005 11:36 pm

The collision was unavoidable, especially since Mick was very interested in the market ahead of him instead of the young girl in front of him. And it didn't help much that Mick was quite bigger than the girl, thus knocking her to the ground.

"Oh shi-" Mick began before stifling himself. This was a young girl wearing very nice and expensive-looking clothing; swearing was not the way to go here. "Miss, are you okay? I'm so, so, so, so, so, so sorry ," the moon mage said, bowing profusely, his bag of puppet equipment clunking with each fall.

He halted his bowing and extended his hand, as well as a very warm smile. "I didn't see you there. To be honest, I was kind of distracted by the smells from that market behind you."

((Bah. I figure I'm going to have to insert myself into the RP at some point or another.))

Pademelen was sitting on a grungy doorstep near Laburnum Market, munching contentedly on a filched apple. It would have been easier to steal it had he used his magic, he reflected, but Pademelen still was reticent about disturbing timeflow. The temporal mage relaxed, sighing and leaning back against the sooty concrete. Wandering was all well and good, but nothing beat the city life. Out of the corner of his eye he caught a large man hastening down the street towards the market. Pademelen watched him carefully; a man like that could be a thief or a cutpurse, and thus warranted his caution.

Abruptly a very young girl stepped out into the road, directly in the path of the fast oncoming man. She'd be seriously wounded, perhaps killed, if the man hit her, as he appeared likely to do. Pademelen flung out his hand; the air blurred for a second as he warped time slightly, enough to significantly reduce the man's momentum. Hopefully, he reflected, as the man crashed into the girl and sent her sprawling, neither of them would notice.

He stood and walked briskly toward the two, to see if either had injuries. "Pardon me," he said lightly when he had approached them. "I saw that unfortunate accident, and wondered whether I might be of assistance? Would a doctor be required?"

(( eek gonk sweatdrop I'm confused!!!! ))

Hoshimi did indeed go sprawling into the ground, the elgant yet functional hakama flowing around her as she was swept to the ground, her hand barely brushing against the ground before she twisted in and landed away from the larger gentleman. Dusting off her clothing the young oriental woman looked up at Mick before turning to the other man who came nearby, not knowing anything of what had happened except for feeling the merest brush of the spirits touch.

Silver blue eyes looked back and forth between them in utter confusion before she tried speaking in broken Western. "I sorry?" her hands staying on her staff defensively, her stance guarded and cautious. " She obviously understood little of common or Western, the slight eastern inflection on her soft voice, not quite so slight. XP

The man who had approached them seemed harmless, for the moment, and a mage, like himself. When he saw the girl's reaction it became very clear to him what this must have seemed like.

"Hey," the moon mage said to the man, "I think she's just fine, but let's back off a bit. She seems a bit confused and I think she thinks we may be trying to rob her or something."

After taking a few steps back Mick talked to the girl again, this time in Eastern dialect. "I'm terribly sorry that I ran into you, miss. I was distracted by the smells of the market and wasn't watching where I was going. And you can relax; I'm not going to try to rob you or anything like that, and I'm pretty sure this guy isn't going to, either."

Mick bowed to the girl, his warm smile still on his face. "My name is Mickael Ansen Brightman, but most people just call me Mick. There, now you know my name and can give it to the authorities if you distrust me in any way," he said with a laugh.
