i play timpani in the front ensemble, or played it this year, and the music was really fun, and extremely fast, which made it fun, so yea, but next marching season i will be playing marching bass drum or snare drum. smile i'd rather play bass though, so yea, i enjoy band! in our band, everyone knows each other, and it's really fun cuz you do all kinds of crazy stuff!! then again, you need to be really serious about it... the music we played is: Overture to Candide Nessun Dorma Dance of the Jesters... and that's the order that we played it in smile feel free to listen to how good this music sounds!! (you'll like it!) of course, being more of a type of creative band, especially drumline, we added more fun parts to this music and only one more thing to say...
Percussion Rules!!!!! Batter AND Pit!!

I graduated from high school back in 1999, but I am proud to say that I was our marching band's only pit member my freshman year, but had built up so much interest in what I did that, by my senior year, our pit was 12 members strong.
I played mallet percussion, primarily the marimba and vibraphone, as well as support percussion (chimes, rattles, snaps, etc.).

(He's band director now.) He started working with me to do some really cool stuff in the pit--yes, I can play using 6 mallets at once--and the rest of the band was impressed with what I was learning, I guess, because a bunch of people registered to play pit instead of their other instruments.
