Izzy looked up into Ilandere's face as the words sunk in. She opened her mouth, but Izzy silenced her with a look. "You're not well. Don't even think about it..."
Ilandere looked up set, but Izzy lead her back to the couch. "We'll get things sorted out don't-" But Izzy stopped mid sentence as her ring, for the second time to day twitched.
"Again?" Placeing it on the floor, they went throught the familiar sound and light show. Just like before, another peice of cloth was on the ground next to Izzy's normal sized ring.
Ilandere looked fearful.
Izzy bent and picked up the short message. She was quiet alarmed to see that it was written in blood.
"IT isn't Themba! Don't beleive him! Izzy, please, it's Saint Dane!" She read in a quivering voice.

Lily could do nothing more for Themba, so she sat by his side, her hand squeezing his. The pain, which had fled when Saint Dane had entered the cell, came rushing over her like a flood. She needed to sleep, but fear kept her eyes wide open. What if they didn't get her message in time? What if they couldn't find them? What if... Themba died before they reached the cell?

Ilandere saw Izzy’s ring start to twitch again. She didn’t even want to see the new note that had come so she headed towards the door.
“Wake everyone up.” She said numbly, “We need to get to Zadaa. Themba is one thing but another traveler…” she let her voice trail off as she stared at her feet. “I can only hope we’re not too late. If we don’t make it in time then Themba and Lily are dead.” Ilandere took a shaky breath and she turned away. She limped back down the hallway to and to the street where she sat on the curb. She put her face in her hands and started humming a melancholy tune. The song she had heard Themba sing to her while she was unconscious in the hospital.
It slips like sand through my fingers

I see the mask that hides my features
Am I crying, I cannot tell
The tainted tears drip from my face
They ripple my reflection
I make a wish just for a kiss
A wish just for deception
I trick myself into love
Then later do not understand
Why I was poisoned, and forsaken
And buried beneath the sand
As she sang the last lines tears began to drip from her face. The song always had a hidden meaning for her. The first thought to come to many people’s mind when they hear the song is that there was love and one killed the other. But if you looked closer you would see that the world is jealous of the love the two people have and they cannot accept that they themselves are not capable of this love. Death comes upon one of the lovers as he is poisoned but they do not let this boundary restrict their love. For in their dreams, the wishes from the wishing well bring them together.
Themba had explained this to her when she was still recovering. The sad melody was what comforted her in times of pain because she knew what it truly meant. He sang it to her almost every night when she was in the hospital and when she wished for the embrace of her father JinRah. She wished he could sing to her now.
Ilandere repeated the song several times, each repetition bringing a new flood of tears. Her sides began to ache to the point where she could no longer sing, then she could no longer cry. She just sat there clutching her arms, rocking back and forth, the song still playing itself over and over in her head.
