Commas, like most other forms of punctuation, can be over used, to a severe extent, and can, or will, get annoying.

Bad attempt at a pun. xP

And this is just using wooden weapons. ~:Shrugs slightly:~

Hnn. This inspired me to go back and find the thread for the first annual Leviathan tournament way back in the beginning of 2004.

The OOC made me laugh my arse off. xp I'd forgotten all the god worship. stressed

Enki Leviathan
The way we set it up, is we made it so that eeveyoje is fighting someone who is somewhat equal to themselves, minus whoever is fighting Jello.

*Rolls on the floor laughing his a** off... or in internet lingo: ROFLMAO!!*

As for the fight... yeah, wooden. I wish we'd have gotten to finish that, but he had offline issues to deal with. crying

Jonathan Faulkner
"Indeed. Ready when you are." He spoke, and proceeded to walk some distance away from Jello. Performing a 180 degree turn then, he faced the man. And with that, his body began to shift. Soon, he was in an odd position, with his Bo Staff in his right hand, which was extended foward. The staff itself was held horizontally, perfectly motionless, as was its wielder. Jonathan had shifted into a fighting style called Hiju. It was a fighting style alien to Gaia. Literally. It was a Yautja fighting style, that used the Combi-Stick or similar weapons. It was a style that was literally made to disembowel an opponent. Fortunately, Jonathan was not using a bladed weapon, so the disembowelment would not take place in the fight. And with the patience of a Yautja, who were the ultimate hunters, Jonathan waited for Jello's first move, his silver orbs waiting for the most insignificant of movements geared towards the offensive. A smirk was now played upon Jonathan's lips; he knew this would be one helluva fight.

themightyjello
Jello took a step to the side with his right foot, leaving the left one planted where it had been, merely widening the stance a bit as he pulled down the bokken from over his left shoulder where it had been resting, holding it out in front of him vertically as he rubbed his right hand down the back of the wooden blade.

"I figgured that since this is all fun and games, there's no sense in running the risk of anyone actually getting hurt, eh? So for the sake of argument, let's just use our imaginations here? whee "

He then pressed his fingers agaisnt the sides of the wooden blade, pulling the tip down to his right as his left wrist acted as a pivot point, bringing the weapon down agaisnt his right hip as he slid that leg back a bit. His left hand still held the hilt of the dummy weapon, the arm crossing over his stomach to reach the other side as his right hand still tenatively was touched to the side of the weapon.

"Are there any fun bits you'd like me to consider for your toy?"

Jonathan Faulkner
Shaking his head head slightly, Jonathan let Jello know that there was nothing special about the Bo Staff (If thats what you meant sweatdrop ). It was just a simple piece of polished, hardended bamboo, that could kick some serious a**. Jonathan could not be blamed for his lack of words now; he was Zazin. Totally centered, within one's self. He knew that the opponents he would face in this tournament would be excellent fighters, and would take his utmost concentration and patience to compete against them. He would, however, not permit himself not to have in these fights, as they were friendly bouts. It was not as if he were fighting for his life. It was one of the reasons he would not use his more "extreme" Psychokinesis as one of his 3 moves. He didn't fancy the prospect of smearing an opponent over the arena floor with a Psychokinetic wave. Literally. Jonathan observed Jello's stance. His eyes were keen; the slightest movement geared for the offensive would set of alarm bells so loud in his mind that it would wake the dead. And with that, he waited for Jello's move, that smirk still played across his face....

themightyjello
Jello nodded in reply, seeing that words weren't something that were going to be in much use here. Some people fought with their mouths, others fought with their actions... today would be a time for action.

What was noted most above everything about Faulkner's stance was it's defensive nature (and that it was never actually described xd ). It said quite a few things about what his feelings were at the time, even if his face or words did not, but above all of those, it said that Jon was waiting for him to make the first move.

Jello slid his right foot back a bit more, the wooden handle of the bokken clenched tightly in his left hand as it sat against his right hip, his right hand resting lightly upon the back of the guard. He had taken a second to adjust to the weight of the sword and the lenght of it, wanting to be able to judge these things accurately when he needed to do them on the fly, and, he supposed, it was time to put them to the test.

The ball of his left foot pressed down hard into the dust upon the arena floor as he pushed off, bringing forward his right leg alongside it as he stepped forwards, then repeating this action over and over in something most referred to as 'running'. The bokken raised up on his side slightly, away from the body a bit more as his arms tensed and he neared Faulkner.

Things would start slow, he assumed, so there was no need to rush, a simple test of the waters would be enough for now.

The bokken struck forward, curving on an arc upwards and to the left from the right hip where it had been situated, Jello himself moving towards a point just beside Faulkner's right shoulder as the bokken blade curved upwards towards the center of Jon's chest.

Jonathan Faulkner
So it began. The silver haired human knew that for now, it would be a matter of mere tests, and not true fighting. For now, he would test his opponent as well, to gauge his capabilities. To see what he could do. The real fight would not begin in earnest until this "play fighting" would end.

His movements were swift, and defined with a disturbing amount of skill for a being his age. He was just human, after all. Thrusting his left hand out now, its hand's fingers wrapped firmly on the left end of the Bo, he moved the staff down and to the left, positioning the bamboo weapon in front of the bokken, making the point of impact between his left hand at the left end of the bo, and his right situated in the middle. As this occured, everything seemed to slow down, as if time and space was suddenly being anchored by an unseen hand or force. When the bokken struck the Bo, Jonathan felt the impact reverberate throughout the bamboo weapon and into his hands. Instantly, Jonathan pressed the offensive once the defense had been completed.

Using his left leg to balance himself, Jonathan let his right foot leave the ground, and with the thrust of his leg, he sent the foot out in a kick, aiming 'tward the solar plexus of Jello.

themightyjello
He had known that such an obvious attack would be blocked from the start, but what had surprised him was the method of Jonathan's block... the bulk of the bo was still to his right, and the weapon was off center from what he had expected...

...apparently he hadn't expected enough of this opponent.

The bo had, incidentally, made a barrier that Jello was hesitant to attempt at crossing, but if he were to continue with his dash, however, his momentum would take him over it. Stopping would leave an opening, turning would take too much time, the only option that remained was to go forwards.

His weight shifted behind his right shoulder as he slid his right hand up the backside of the bokken as it made contact, leaning upon it as he pressed his hand down near the tip. He stepped far to the right with his right foot as he pushed off with his left, redirecting the momentum of his run to center upon Jon himself, using the staff as a fulcrum while the bokken swiveled around it.

His weight was kept upon the upper portion of the blade as it turned, himself coming to pass now on Jon's left side rather than his right, and the blade of the wooden weapon screaming swiftly towards the backside of his head.

EDIT: (( Oh, in regards to the kick, as that was the right foot, and I moved to your left side, that would basically have completely missed... that and I forgot to include it because of that fact, since it was now just a minor detail... ))

Jonathan Faulkner
Jonathan knew he would have to be quick to dodge the upcoming blow coming from Jello, who was now positioned to his left, with the Bokken he wielded aiming for the back of his cranium. If it were to strike, it would be -quite- painful indeed. And not only that, it would almost undoubtedly stun him, and even though it would be a short period of slight helplessness, that would be all it would take for his opponent to exploit his weakness. But the human would not allow himself to fall into such an undesired position.

Hearing the whistling noise that was the bokken piercing the air in a slash, aiming towards the cranium, Jonanthan proceeded to quickly c**k his head to the right, and at the same time, shift his body downwards and to the right. He could feel the wind generated by the momentum of the bokken soar right past his left ear, signaling that he had dodged the blow, but barely.

As his body continued to make its was downwards, his knees bent to accomidate the sudden movement. If Jello had been behind him and to his left, Jonathan could of dodged the Bokken, and then thrust the Bo staff back past his left side, into Jello's gut. However, his opponent was positioned to his left, and not his behind, so a different strategy would have to be used in this situation.

Sliding his right hand quickly down to the right end of the staff, his left followed right behind it, the space between them the same distance from earlier when they were in position to block the blow from Jello. Near the end of the Bo, the digits of his right hand wrapped firmly 'round the bamboo weapon, with his left firmly wrapped around the center. As he performed this, he moved the left end of the weapon up, pointing towards Jello's form. As he did this, the right end of course began to point 'tward the ground.

Now in position, Jonathan put all of his weight into his right arm, and proceeded to thrust it and his left arm up and to the left at the angle it was at, which was directly pointed at Jello's right side (Or gut, wasn't clarified in your post, but I think you catch the drift of my attack). The momentum in which he began to propel the Bo was great; the thrust would almost undoubtedly be very painful. Blocking would be almost impossible at the angle of attack in which Jonathan was thrusting his Bo 'tward Jello. Dodging would be a much more viable option.

themightyjello
Perhaps the bokken might have stopped when it hit Jon's staff, but the momentum from Jello's previous charge had still remained, and it was that momentum that had carried him past Jon when the strike was made, pivoting around with the bokken in a tight circle. By the time that the bokken passed over Jon's head the momentum was more under control, but still... the larger the better...

In responce to the dodge, Jello raised up his right leg, keeping the momentum as much as he could, and brought it up to slam the knee into Jonathan's lower back. It should have thrown him off balance and gave him a bit to think about... but mainly it was meant to stun for a moment as the other part of the attack came...

The bokken flipped over in his hand, the right still pressing down upon the front as it pushed against the bamboo staff, but now, instad of the 'sharp' side pointing into the staff, it now pointed downwards, and Jello's right hand was pressed against the flat of the blade, his fingers curled around the back of it.

And then he pulled back. The bokken coming back towards him at a downwards angle at it launched itself off of the surface of the staff and downwards towards the upper chest of Faulkner, who was being thrust forwards and upwards from the force of the knee at his back.

And that's where it ended because he had to go away for a while.

Not really saying that it was a particularly awesome fight, but JF had some talent and I'm sorry that it didn't get to go on any longer.

Man... so much OOC to dig through, though. xp
