She still cried, but it was less, her eyes redrimmed and puffy, tear streaks making lines across her cheeks. She had been so afraid, afraid she would never see him again, or any one else that she held dear. She clung to him for dear life. She never wanted to let him go again.

"It's all my fault." she said, sounding dejected and depressed. "If I had warned Rikku sooner, made her listen, then she wouldn't have been taken too, and if I had been so blind and overconfident..." she trailed off, unable to really continue. "It's not your fault, it's mine." She said, as if to dive her point home.

She looked up, hearing soemthing odd in his voice. An ear twitched, trying to pinpoint it, but unable to. "You're not weak." She said, wiping away tears. "You're the strongest person I know, and I'm not sure ANYONE I know now is weak, you least of all." She didn't like the distant look in his eyes. She wanted him to smile at her again, and was suddenly afraid that recent events had caused his to go back to his old ways.

She shook her head, but whether is was in response to what he said or to wake herself up a tad was hard to say. "If you were weak, then so was everyone else in this city." Neko told him. "And what do you mean, you'll stop something like this from happening again?"

She cocked her head to the side, still not quite understanding. Sherested her head on his chest, her ear over his heart, and was comforted by the sound. And yet, even that as differnet. And that frightened her.
"What's happened to you?" SHe murmured, not realizing she had said it aloud.
