Neither looked especially thrilled with their replacement, one leaning against the wall (Hisoka) and the other looming ominously, glaring down at the summoning terminal as if daring it to suddenly work so that they could take down the Septentrione that had been dogging them all day long.

Now!" the Boss called out to Hisoka as the two of them ducked behind a concrete pillar to avoid the passing of Jolly Beige Turnip and its Roots of Doom...though to be fair, it didn't look like Benetnasch had roots of any kind, but that was beside the point. Was wasn't beside the point was that the Septentrione was back on the prowl and looking for anyone it could annihilate with its delicious vitamin-filled flavor...err...with its tremendous and otherworldly power to dismiss demons and nullify humans at the same time! And then blast them into ******** particles because that's what they like to do, apparently.
They would have to be more careful from now on and keep their eyes peeled. They couldn't count on that thing missing them over and over and over again...the way it hadn't done that before with Kei and Kaori. Now, the two of them were officially on notice. "I have the most loving, beautiful, understanding wife in the world...okay I said it, honey, you can stop poking me now, all right?"Benetnasch passed by and they were fortunate enough not to get completely annihilated in the process; that was definitely a win in the book of normal humans like the Vultures and their unusually pale Boss. They'd have to chalk that one up in the 'Not Dead' column...which was generally synonymous with a win for them...and quickly move on to the next target before things got particularly hairy. Next target...the same target they had been dealing with for the past thirty minutes...and the last who knows how many hours before that: Trumpeter! Convincing that flying sack of bones was proving to be the single hardest thing since Diamonds. Diamonds were hard, yo. Look it up.
"Demon!" he called out as he stood and blasted the devil over the shoulder of his companion, only to hear him shout, "Demon!" And BAM! Dropkick over his shoulder leveling a devil before Pazuzu finished it off with a gust of wind. Teamwork. Kakyo called out at his ally who leaped into an alley and ducked away from MondoTurnip and his Nutrients of Doom...but the Boss himself could only try to duck behind the concrete barrier again and this time, Benetnasch seemed to be ready and aware of just where they were...or at least, that there were people somewhere back there. In hiding, the Boss could only listen as a sudden burst of incomprehensible language filled the air...followed by an explosion of force that would have likely knocked him senseless or killed him if he hit an obstacle was suddenly blocked by a toot of the horn of his own Trumpeter.

Kakyo called out from his hiding spot as Benetnasch unleashed another unforgiving barrage upon their hiding spot, but this one sailed high and avoided hitting the Boss, instead hitting the Toubyou that Hisoka had aiding him in scouting the area just before it returned...annihilating it instantly before it could even be dismissed by the usual pulse. Well...s**t, that was damn near impossible to beat! And it was terrifying to think that it could do that in one attack to a demon, when they were only humans...did that mean they were little more than a speck of dust to be obliterated to the Septentriones. Ants? Fleas, even?

His breath escaped him at last in a relieved gasp; his feet slowly began to drag him to his feet as they remained quiet just in case the big bad Septentrione was still in the area. They wanted to remain silent...to examine the area and continue doing what they had been doing while making as little noise as possible so as not to draw Benny in, demons, humans from other factions, or anyone else...they just needed to learn how to draw out Trumpeter and they could be on their way. A few more minutes of perfect silence would be Golden, really. He could work, let his nerves calm down, finally take a minute to ease his mind and-

The fight now was complete chaos because not only were these devils numerous, but they could ******** FLY! Could Kakyo or Hisoka fly? Hell no! They were rooted to the ground like little, idiotic trees right now or mammals of some non-flight-capable sort and it was really giving them trouble when their enemies could go into the freaking AIR against them! "I have the most loving, beautiful, understanding wife in the world...okay I said it, honey, you can stop poking me now, all right?"So, another horde of demons had come running after Shiva's little outburst, and Hisoka and the Boss had been forced to take care of them again. Ogres, Gozuki, Mezuki, and a couple of Kishin this time! Which meant intense, powerful, and oftentimes brutal physical combat in close-quarters. He was fairly sure he'd cracked a molar when Jikokuten punched him in in the face just now...and Hisoka was definitely nursing a sprained if not broken elbow that was currently being stitched together by healing magic from the demons and good vibes. And Shiva? Shiva was sitting in the corner of the clearing with his eyes staring at the corner, occasionally trying to sneak a peek out of a third eye opening on the back of his head only to be shut down with the vigilant anger of his master bearing down upon him.
"No third eye, Shiva! No fourth eye, no fifth eye...two eyes, staring at that wall. And don't you even think of coming out of there until I say you can. Got it?" After a little bit of tinkering with the buttons (and about fifty kicks to the summoning terminal kiosk) the thoroughly exhausted (mentally and physically) Kakyo had finally managed to summon Trumpeter without opening his phone...and as the trumpet rang out overhead it almost sounded like a joyous song of absolute joy. And now that he was here...the Boss realized he STILL had absolutely no idea how to appeal to this ******** devil!

...Or maybe he did, you don't know! Maybe he was secretly a member of the Green Lantern Corps and someone else had blown up Coast City and he had tried to go to the planet Oa to appeal to the council to let him rebuild Coast City because it was his home and the people he loved were there when it was destroyed, but they denied him for no good reason or something about some code or something and so he absolutely ******** SNAPPED and murdered every last Green Lantern and became a full-fledged SUPER-VILLAIN! ...What? Don't tell me it's not possible, you all HAVE Green-Lantern-themed Power Rings!
Instead of doing all that stuff, though, Kakyo collapsed against the concrete divider even as Hisoka fought off a couple of weaker demons for the time being. Was it even worth it staying here? They had absolutely nothing to work on Trumpeter. And he was steadily losing sanity no matter where he was. Couldn't he at least rest in the arms of the person he loved if he was going to lose his mind? This had been established long ago, of course. What with the having six brothers who were all doing their damnedest to wipe out humanity and taking their turns killing humans and demons left and right...but you know, Kakyo hadn't wanted to judge the 7th on the terms that his brother had set. ...Same thing. He really couldn't stand to listen to the demon shout out the name of his attack any longer, but after being saved by the big God of Destruction he supposed that he owed him a few. Didn't mean he had to like it, though, nor did it mean that he didn't wish he could plug his ears with beeswax the way that the sailors on Odysseus's ship had on the trip back to Ithaca when passing by the Isle of the Sirens. It would be preferable to this even if there were literal bees in the wax and they were stinging him in the ears...maybe they would swell shut? That would be a blessing right now.

Either way, the last two blocks back to the warehouse had been quite interesting with one of those on their tails. Running swiftly as they could down the road they had been forced to dodge it twice and have Shiva (Oh. No. Please Stop. -deadpan-) step into the path of one as it crashed into the God of Destruction and mutually laid waste to the two of them temporarily...but soon as Shiva dispersed back into the App the car-devil had come rushing after them again! And it was only when they slipped through the doors of the warehouse that Zaou-Gongen had raised its blade before him and cloven the car in twain with a single stroke, ending the threat as Hisoka and Kakyo struggled to catch their breath.
