"I think it might be an interest thing," Miyuki murmured thoughtfully, "He's far more interested in the science field than the magical field. He'll dabble in it,but it's not his field of interest..."
Which also meant it wasn't necessarily his field of knowledge either, so Andarien was right that Shiro should ask Lancaeriel or Cael.
"So it might not have occurred to him," she hummed a bit, thinking about this.
Magic required energy, just not electricity, but electricity was a form of energy that magic could create. Was it possible to turn electricity into a magical force? If you could, then you could use that as an energy source to contact between worlds, since Miyuki had assumed that a caster doing it would be very draining as between worlds was more difficult than traveling between distances.
"I should ask Lancaeriel...." Miyuki mused more to herself.

Andarien shrugged again, still stroking Kaede, who was basking in the attention.
"I'll leave that to you," he murmured. He glanced towards the fire, where Lancaeriel and Cael were talking with Lin, Earendil and Daeron. Wren had already disappeared, as had Iorlas and Amir, and of course Shiro had gone for a walk, and Kaito had been in his tent since bringing Shiro his dinner.
Shoneah wasn't in sight either, and he wondered very briefly where she might be; but then he shrugged it off.
"I'm going to bed," he told his sister quietly. "G'night."
He motioned for his Pokemon to follow him and started towards his tent.

Miyuki tilted her head, but murmured her good night to her brother as he left. Her parents had a bit of a talk with her about Andarien, and she in turned talked to Eron to know more. She wondered (something she hadn't before) if Andarien was avoiding the couple.
Granted they must be bright, but were they perhaps too bright even with the googles. Were there lens that filtered such things out even more? Musing on this, Miyuki got up, and wandered over to the group of adults talking. Her Pokemon followed her like little ducklings, with Ai in the lead.

"There are a few places we've been considering," Cael was saying as Miyuki approached, "but I think Lan's grown rather fond of traveling and I also have to admit I'm curious to see some of the places she's been telling me about. If you all don't mind, I think we'd like to continue with you for quite a while longer."
"Well, you know you're welcome for as long as you like," Daeron smiled at the two of them. "I think we've all grown rather fond of you."

Lin agreed, "Yes, and I know that feeling of wanting to travel. That is how Earendil and I ended up on the road. Though I don't think when we were children we imagined doing so with a whole family and then some."
Honestly, she didn't know what her child self was thinking way back then. Certainly wouldn't have imagined marrying the guy she was plotting with and then having kids.
"So we get to keep you for longer?" Miyuki asked as she sat next to the rest of the adults.
Despite being an adult herself, she would probably always consider them the adults.

Eyes turned to Miyuki as she joined the rest of the group, and Lancaeriel smiled warmly at her.
"Yes, for a while, anyways," she agreed. "When Cael and I settle, we need to be somewhere we feel comfortable, somewhere we won't be bothered for being different."
"It's the first time we've ever had to take that into consideration," Cael added with a grimace.
Lancaeriel smiled and put one hand on his knee, though she kept her gaze on Miyuki. "Besides," she added, "you've rather intrigued me about the people in the Borderlands."
She turned to Lin. "We were asking Miyuki earlier if we might know anyone from there, and she said that one person, a man named Aragost, is quite old, but unfortunately she couldn't tell us anything more about him. The name is unfamiliar, but do you know how old he is?"

"Ah...." Lin mused on this.
She looked thoughtful, she could never be sure how much Aragost still liked his privacy. Honestly, he had changed a lot over the years, but as things had become peaceful, she sort of worried he would leave one day.
Miyuki had never seen her mother think on this so much before, and she wondered why.
Lin explained, "Aragost is a first generation elf, it's actually a pseudonym he uses for his name because he's quite a private person. Despite the fact every child that has grown up in Haven adores him. Unfortunately I can't tell you his actual name, that is his business to tell and no one else's."
The way Earendil found out didn't count because someone wasn't paying attention to who knew and who didn't.
"You make it sound like being private and being adored by children are two things that can't exist along side each other," Miyuki told her mother in a confused fashion.
"Let's just say he wasn't very approachable to the adults when he first arrived," Lin grinned.

Lancaeriel blinked at the description. "Now that does sound like someone we know," she commented, glancing at Cael.
Cael was also looking at her, slightly anxiously. "Maybe we shouldn't go back with them," he said quietly, clearly speaking directly to his wife. "Just in case it is him."
"We could just see and get it over with if it is him," Lancaeriel pointed out. "Besides, if it is him, he probably won't say anything anyways, just give us one of those looks of his."

Lin tilted her head. Of course Miyuki wouldn't know what they were talking about, but Lin did.
Her lips quirked upwards just a bit, "Are you referring to the look that feels like it's weighing you? Or the glare that normally sends people running, which by the way, I've never seen but I have heard of it."

"Both," Cael replied promptly. "Except that while he makes you feel like you're being judged, and you want to run away, he makes you feel like a complete idiot no matter how much you have studied."
"Only because he knows that those who don't listen to his advice are fools," Lancaeriel grimaced. "And if for once he chose to say 'I told you so', we would deserve it."
Cael sighed and looked into the fire. "He truly is a wise man," he murmured softly.

"Ah...." Lin murmured, "That does sound like Aragost. I would say just go ahead and meet him. He knows anyways, he always does, so he's not going to hold it against the two of you."
That was the nice thing (granted still creepy thing) about Aragost knowing everything. If your intentions are right, if you try to do the right thing, he would accept it,because he already had seen what you've done.
"He would?" Miyuki asked.
Lin rolled her eyes as if it was an old joke, "He knows everything. Just accept that and it won't break your brain as much."
She paused a bit.
"Well... almost everything, he didn't know about the elves of Nauros, but that might be because he wasn't looking."

Lancaeriel smiled. "Then we shall accompany you at least so far. Someday we will want to settle down again, but for now we stay with you."
"But for tonight," Cael murmured, pushing himself to his feet, "it's time to rest." He took Lancaeriel's hand and pulled her to her feet as well, then smiled at the others. "Good night, all. See you in the morning."
"Yes, good night," Lancaeriel added warmly, brushing off the back of her skirt.
"Good night," Earendil and Daeron echoed, and Earendil waved slightly as the two headed off.

Having the question slip her mind, Miyuki said good night to everyone as they headed for their tents. Another two weeks or so passed, everyone had more or less kept busy.
Lin with Earendil, had kept their promise to visit Mailon, though they weren't sure what was going to happen to him now that he remembered.
Eron kept busy with lessons, and Andarien watching, but there was still a lot of spare time on his hands. Still, he was making progress and he was no longer distracting Miyuki by tripping over his own magic during meditation.
By this point, they were earning a good amount of coin for their performances. People were honestly interested in what life was like in other lands. Miyuki especially found that showing places that were very foreign helped a great deal. Like the snow covered Borderlands, the tropical island of Nauros or even the forests that they have traveled through so far.
With that coin, she could now begin phase two of her idea, finding things that she could sell, that simply could not be sold in other countries due to environment and distance. This would mainly be raw goods rather than finished products, but if the finished product was unique to the society, she planned to take that too if she could.
There was also the fact that if Eron and Shoneah were to travel with them, they would need things. Which was also why Miyuki was dragging the both of them on a shopping trip.
"We're going shopping!" Miyuki announced to Eron and Shoneah before they could part after breakfast one day.

Despite having been with the group for several weeks now, Shoneah still more or less kept to herself, except at meal times. She didn't like that they were sitting in one spot for so long, knowing that it was only adding to the time it would take her to get home. That, coupled with her bouts of homesickness, was making this a very difficult time for her.
Still, the loneliness had become routine. She didn't get to talk with Eron as often as when it had been the two of them, because unlike that time, he had no trouble with talking with the others and getting to know them. He also had the goal of relearning his magic, which gave him something to work towards, not to mention that he was helping the entire group with Andarien's issues.
She still hadn't decided whether or not to learn magic, and with everyone else having their own things to do, she ended up spending most of her time caring for her weapons, wandering the forest near the camp, and, occasionally, hunting; though after the first time she went with someone else and they reacted adversely to her eating the heart of the raccoon she'd caught, she made a point of only hunting alone.
So accustomed had she become to being on her own that Miyuki's announcement took her completely by surprise. For a moment, she was certain Miyuki didn't mean her, but when she double checked and found the kitsune looking directly at her, she blinked in surprise.
"Shopping?" she repeated dumbly. "What for?"

"For your traveling supplies of course, and it'll give me a chance to scout out for items I might want to purchase to sell else where too, but the main mission are your traveling supplies," Miyuki replied as if this was the most obvious thing in the world.
Eron blinked and then nodded, "I guess we could use some provisions before we go..." "I'm not talking about food, I'm talking about clothing, weapons, bags, shoes, and..." Miyuki frowned and took out the list her mother gave her, "Brush, razor blade, unless you want to keep growing that beard, cloak or coat, and at least one hobby item."
Miyuki looked up from her list with a sheepish grin.
"I've never shopped for a trip on my own before, so mom had to make a list for me."
