"And only a few hours' sleep," Kyrie added with a smile. "Who knows what might happen after a full night's sleep and some real food and rest?"

She leaned against the arm rest of a chair. "Think you'll be up to changing rooms soon?" she asked Earendil. "Mari has asked the room across the hall to be prepared for you so that you don't have to move too far, but this is Cael's room after all."

Earendil shrugged. "With help, I'm sure I can manage," he agreed. "What about Miyuki and Andarien?"

Kyrie looked to Lin. "What do you think?" she asked her. "The room across the hall is a suite like this one, three rooms - you could have it for yourself and Earendil and the kids could have rooms of their own, or you could set up some tents in there and all be together."

"Together," Andarien said hopefully.

Andarien's entire face lit up brightly, and he grinned as he went back to eating. He was beyond pleased that they would all be rooming together.

"We get our own tents in there, though, right?" he asked, just in case. "I wouldn't want to bother Mi all the time."

He knew he wasn't the easiest person to get along with at times, and he knew that Miyuki needed her space; and as long as he was in the same general area as the rest of his family, he would be fine.

"Well, now that you have your things, why don't I go back down to the others and when your rooms are ready for you I'll come get you all again," Kyrie suggested. "It may take a while, but at least you can rest while you're waiting. I think Mari and Cael are planning on going out soon, though ..."

The guards would be returning form their posts in a while, and they needed to be ready for them.

Kyrie nodded. "You all just focus on staying safe," she told them. "I'll see you later."

And with one final wave, she was gone, once more leaving the family alone with their guards.

Once Kyrie was gone, Earendil looked to Lin. "So what's going on now?" he asked her curiously. "I think I've been missing quite a bit ..."

Earendil sighed. "Everything is always so complicated," he murmured. "I hope it goes well. Are they just starting now, then?"

Between lapses of consciousness and his difficulty hearing things, he really was out of the loop, even on things that had probably been discussed very near him.

Earendil nodded. "I wish I could help somehow," he sighed, reaching for a glass of water. "I know, I can't, I can hardly sit up even when I'm propped up ... but I still wish there were something I could do to help."

Andarien looked at his father, puzzled. "Ada, you always say I should listen to Kaito because he's my teacher, right?" he asked

Earendil's eyes flickered towards his son, and he nodded slowly. "Yes ..."

Andarien frowned. "Then isn't he right when he says that everyone needs to know when there are things they can't do, and when they should limit themselves?"

"Hey now," Earendil said defensively, though he was smiling, "I was just saying I wish I could - as in, if I were well. And if I had my -"

He stopped abruptly, and a look of panic on his face.

"My things," he breathed. "They took it all - my elfstones ..."

He tried to stand but he couldn't even lean forward in the chair. "Lin," he said, turning towards her, "has anyone said anything about where my things are? I know most of my things are replaceable but my stones ..."

Earendil calmed down, though only slightly.

"Thank you," he murmured. "I can't lose those stones ..."


A few more hours passed before there was a knock at their door again, this time two servants who bowed low to them and told them that their new rooms were ready for them. The Pokemon had fallen asleep by that time, and Andarien woke them carefully so as not to surprise them. He'd done that once with Zeus, who had been more than happy to pass on the shock of being suddenly awoken.
