Never Again...

As Emma passed through the door she would see the signs of Herald's passing. The rugs were torn haphazardly as if someone with sharp claws had been stumbling over them. There were smears of bright green blood on the walls where Herald had fallen against them while trying to walk through the halls. Several of the candleholders and vases that decorated the halls were knocked over or smashed, though they lay where they had fallen, indicating they were knocked over rather than thrown or smashed. Herald was no where to be seen, though the blood trail led deeper into the castle.

Never Again...

The blood trails and smears on the walls would lead Emma lower into the fortress rather than upwards towards the living areas and bedroom. It was an area Emma hadn't seen yet. The damage and blood would eventually lead her to a large set of double-wooden doors. They had been closed but not locked. There was something strange about them, and they were thick enough to block out all sound on the other side. There was a smear of bright green blood on one of the handles showing that the door had recently been opened and closed by the wounded Herald.

Never Again...

As the massive door slowly creaked open, it would reveal a wide room with a high ceiling. Unlike the rest of the castle, instead of stone the walls, ceiling and floor were all a smooth and unbroken bland, grey color. The room was completely empty of any decorations and although it was well lit, there were no apparent light sources in the room. The most unusual thing was that there was a very strong presence of magic in the air. It was an unusually high amount, so much that one might almost be able to smell it or physically feel it. The room was undamaged but the floors were smeared with more of Herald's blood. In the middle of the room stood Herald, seeming more injured than he had before. His back was to her and he seemed to be staring off into the distance, unaware of her arrival.

Never Again...

After several moments Herald finally turned, noticing her presence. "What....how did you find me?" He asked her. He was clearly out of it from blood loss and hadn't realized the trail he left. He slowly sank to one knee, to injured to stand.

Never Again...

"I'm....fine," he told her, moving to a sitting position. "I'm ready....to...." He closed his eyes tightly before opening them again, trying to clear his blurry vision. He raised his arm with the shattered bones and forced himself to clench his fist. He didn't let the pain show on his face as the bones ground against each other. He opened his hand again before looking back at Emma. "I'm fine..." he repeated.

Never Again...

As Herald sat still, several spirits rushed into the room at Emma's call. They looked around for a moment before spotting Herald and hurrying over to his side. They began healing him quickly, focusing on his most injured areas first such as his arm and his lungs. They moved on to other areas as quickly as they could and within around 15 minutes they had healed him completely, restoring most of his energy before running out of energy themselves. Once they were done they slowly floated out of the room, leaving Herald and Emma alone. Herald was still out of it due to blood loss, but at least he wasn't losing any more.

Never Again...

Herald looked at Emma as she talked to him. He got up slowly, looking down at her. He narrowed his eyes, though it was in an attempt to focus rather than out of anger. "Divine is dead, but his spawn lives on," was all he said, clearly still pissed about Mirai. He was a little calmer, but his feelings towards the girl had not changed.
