Okay I got a bunch of ideas to consider.
1. Shinon moves to 15 and hits either the fighter or the myrmidon with bowfaire+prescience+iron bow. Then, either Vika or I can rescue him and then Leena can take and drop him back on 14 or 12. Meanwhile, Seth tries to do a hit and run on either the myrmidon or fighter if he rolls high enough to canto back to at least 15.
2. Shinon tries moving to 18, where he fires at the fire mage with prescience+iron bow boost. Hopefully he kills the b***h, but if not then at least it's almost dead. Then Seth can try rescue and running on Shinon, where he cantos back to at least 15 and then Leena still takes and drops Shinon to safety. This is incredibly risky because it requires Shinon and Seth to roll well enough in movement.
3. I remembered that Vika and Mihira can fly! One thing we could try doing is going over to that fort and taking out the thunder mage, but that is ******** risky.
4. I remember the last time we attacked a mage and didn't kill it, it tried retreating. I assume it would have gone back to the fort for healing. If Shinon can at least hurt it badly, then maybe it will retreat like the other one. Just hopeful thinking, but the payoff would be one less mage to deal with next enemy phase, which could mean the difference in somebody dying.
5. Fire mage will be in tomefaire range no matter what it rolls next enemy phase, so Seth might want to end his turn on 14 or 12. The thunder mage needs to roll a 2 to get in tomefaire range, so I'm thinking it might also be beast for me to fall back, but at the same time Vika can't tank and we can't all move, because then Rin and Ziaram are in danger and we lose our poison trap choke point. So if it's for the greater good, I'll volunteer to hold the line and hope I survive.
Personally, I think we should try our best to go on the offensive.

Disregard my sick a**, I woke up from sleeping all day to send a PM and hadn't seen this. This. I like this. Let's do this. Alternately, either Mihira or Vika can bail to the Shop to grab some Holy Water.

Well I just replied to your PM, but let's move the talk to here. I have no idea what is best to do now because regrouping inside the village didn't seem like a good idea, since retreating isn't going to get us anywhere, but going back for holy water would actually be helpful and give a meaning to falling back.

Quoting Vaida's PM to me here for some strategizing: Quote: Shinon falls back- and he should move to the right to try and snipe those mages with bowfaire once they get closer. I can rescue Rin or Ziaram. Seth can rescue the other. You go for the shop and buy at least 2 holy waters- if you can't reach, then take and drop somebody. Leena can take and drop the other. I'll stick with you, since I need to be on the front lines and need the resistance help from holy water. Seth can cover Shinon on the other side of the village, since canto means he doesn't need holy water as much. I still like the idea of hurting the fire mage in hopes that it will retreat though, but that puts Shinon or Seth at risk of death if Seth can't pull off a strong movement roll. What I'd like to clarify is that Rescue counts as an action. So I can't Rescue then move.

I was saying just in case you couldn't reach the shop, it's better to have us all out and ready to go next round rather than at least one of us still rescued. If you can reach the shop then yeah, buying holy water is first priority. If we're falling back.

If you can reach the shop then yeah, buying holy water is first priority. If we're falling back. I don't think the foot units have any choice but to fall back. Any one unit staring down the face of a fighter with Counter, a myrm with a 44% chance to get at least a ten from his die roll alone, and two mages facing a team with pitiful RES displays is pretty much guaranteed to die. Fortunately, the Thunder mage is on 21, which is right in range of that fort, but Vika has a 20% chance of oneshotting it and Mihira a 10% chance. I'm not touching those odds, considering that Mihira and Vika have a 14% chance of both rolling enough to reach that fort. If people can fall back, maybe use the trap to their advantage, and whittle down the front while not dying, maybe in about two turns Vika and Mihira can cut across the terrain and do some damage from the rear.

Yes, if the mages come closer, we can ideally fly up and take at least one of them out. So. Shinon tries to move to space 7. If he can't reach 7, he goes to 8. He does not go to 11, because mages could tomefaire him. I will move to 12 and rescue. I will hold the line here. Vika will try to go shopping on space 9. If she cannot reach, then take my person and drop them somewhere. Seth rescues and tries to canto to 8. Leena moves to either 8 or 3 and then takes and drops somebody. Also, and this is minor, but the fact that she's given a card makes me think that there could be a secret shop somewhere and she needs that out in order to find it. At least until her inventory is full of stuff she actually needs out. Thoughts?

He has a one in three chance of dying from a full mage attack plus a tomefaire, but stacking that with the odds that the mages would roll well enough to land in those positions I'd be willing to gamble on it. If he settles on 12, he lures the mages to 19 to hit the trap. That also has the added effect of protecting you. Vika can't rescue and move. Rescue ends turn, and she'd have to drop the person next turn. Other than that, everything sounds cool.

Because it was driven into my own head and from Quote: Vika will try to go shopping on space 9. If she cannot reach, then take my person and drop them somewhere. I'm getting the impression that it's being suggested. She can do this, but it's a two-turn maneuver, and as long as that's understood and cool, I'm good with it, but I'm just making sure that we're clear before we jump into a plan here.

Taking a rescued unit and dropping them is not a 2-turn maneuver. It works the same way it does in the games.

Nomad Rath Taking a rescued unit and dropping them is not a 2-turn maneuver. It works the same way it does in the games. See, here's where my confusion's stemming from. I'm under the impression that if a unit without Canto either picks a unit off the ground or takes a unit from another unit, it ends the turn instantly. If you're telling me that this isn't the case, and Vika can pick up a unit and instantly drop it and then end turn, then that's clarification and confusion allayed.

It works the same way as it does in games. You cannot rescue and then instantly drop. You can only take a currently rescued unit and instantly drop.
