[[entering]] Azmodel pushed the door and entered in the tower, immediately realizing that despite the people hovering around and taking the stairs there was absolutely no sound. It really was eerie. But the ghoul did not let that deter her, even if she was weary of the building. The last one crumpled right as she reached it after all... Az felt like this trek would be a long one : she couldn't even she the top of the staircase from where she was. And the silence... it was really unnerving her, she would have to keep her eyes wide open in case something came tumbling down. The former shadow know as Death was starting to be bored... all those stairs were the same... One feet, then the other, one feet, the other, again, and again, and she couldn't even hear the sound of her own footsteps ! it was driving her up the wall ! Or up the tower in this case... Here was the Voice again, at least it would distract Azmodel for a while. It's tone of voice announced unpleasant things... Jackdamn right she was. What did it expect? The former Shadow was born from Revenge... Her whole existence fake, with no future in sight, only death and the void of nothingness. Of course the ghoul would try to take all she could from the one that slighted her. Almost there... the ghoul could see the exit of the stairs just a few meters ahead. She gingerly crossed the last steps when the Voice made itself heard again. The silence was getting to her. Davyne was not much for admitting it, but the total lack of sound - her footsteps, breathing, the slide of her hand against the wall - was beginning to affect her. In the beginning, it had not seemed so bad, but then, she'd had Nkosazana then and the assurance of holding her hand. Now that the other woman was gone, it was simply her, alone, and that left entirely too much time to notice things, to ruminate and feel so very alone in her world of no noise at all. It was remarkable how much sound really meant, and how much it affected her mental state. But then again, at this point anything would affect her mental state. The trek upwards had been reminiscent of the Silver Tower, and somehow this made her more determined to reach the top. She may have passed by others but she wasn't in the right state of mind to be around others. She was still livid, and the sense of wrongness in the atmosphere, the eerie silence, with not even the sound of footfalls to distract her wore on her patience.
Worse still? She could still hear the Voice. Maritess threw her hands up, fingers curled just shy of a fist, as if clawing at the air in demand of whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy??????

She refused to relent, and though her burst of energy from earlier was beginning to fade she trudged on up. Teeth bared, taking two steps at a time, uncaring if her pace brought down the whole Tower. Hell, given the Voice? She didn't know how far or how close she was to the top. Her goal seemed to stretch for miles and miles. She was winded, her legs ached, but it was the good sort of pain. It grounded her. Made her aware that she was still there, that despite what the Voice said, despite what she was shown, she was still here. The Voice was starting to sound a little whiny in Maritess' opinion. And would she been able to hear, she would have heard herself snort. But she did all the same, and shook her head.
She felt no pity, no sympathy for you, Voice. Whoever you are, you brought this on yourself. And she was going up!
