Her words made him blush as they caught him off guard. He wasn't entirely used to being ogled and then commented on like that.
This was the ghoul Kettil wanted to marry.
Sweet. Innocent Graceful.
She had all these wonderful qualities. So many of them. Kettil winced as she toppled over and moved to help her up, "You alright. Didn't hit anything did you?"
He wanted to make sure she was alright first, then he would laugh at her.

Her head was safe, and she hadn't hit anything too hard when she fell, so the only thing that really hurt was Freya's pride. "I'm fine, I'm fine!" She snapped, whining as she climbed back up and started fussing with things that didn't need fussing with - like her luggage. "Come on, let's just goes. We don't wants teh be late." They were nowhere near late. But straying from the topic of falling like an idiot was important!

Her reaction just made it worse for him. He pressed his lips together and nodded as he choked back another laugh. Kettil quickly scurried to the door, "G-Gotta go talk to Dad real quick. You ca..can come with if y'want?"
There. An excuse to smile.
He grinned widely at her.
Too much smiling.

Freya saw right through you, Kettil. She saw through you, and stopped fussing with her luggage just long enough to reach over, turn him around, and punt him right in the rear end with her shoeless foot until he was at the door. "I'll be right down, yeh poops." She growled, trying not to laugh herself.

He uttered a grunt as she kicked his butt on his way to the door.
"..Well, okay. Don't fall all over yourself in a hurry. We still have time," Kettil grinned and wiggled his eyebrows before he then disappeared out of the bedroom door and hurried down stairs.

"OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH-" Kettil disappeared just in time before a flying, angry valkyrie had the chance to attack him.
Lucky.
Instead, he heard some kind of thump as one of her shoes hit the door of the bathroom across the hall, and not his head.

Having narrowly escaped the rampant, unprovoked abusive actions of his ghoulfriend he trotted his way downstairs. There was a bit of a trail of his fingertips against the wall to his side as he jumped down the last couple of steps and soon as he turned into the family's livingroom his Father was sitting there reading the newspaper.
"..Can't help but notice that yer owl is missin' this entire visit." Coyote observed casually.
Kettil stumbled a bit as he came to a stop, "Mmm...We...are having issues," he said evasively.
There was a soft hum from the larger man as he set the paper to the side, "I think y'need to fix yer issues, son. That ain't no way for a proper Muut to be without his Owl. Mine is nearby as always. Your mom's owl is never too far away," Coyote said softly as he folded his arms over his chest.
He sucked in a breath to stop from letting out a frustrated shout of his own. Kettil breathed out slowly, "I...I know. I just...I try to summon her and she won't come back. There was a fight with another boil and...I had her set aside so we could rest after it had happened and..." His hand lifted and he waved it about. "Wake up and she's gone. I tried seein' through her eyes, but I can't."
Coyote nodded slowly, "Fact remains is that maybe y'need to get in touch with yerself again. How old are ya? Eighteen now?"
His brow knitted a little and he nodded, "Yea, you should know that seein' as you were there when I was born."
The older man nodded and just smiled, "Almost a man. Well, I gotta go get some things done. I hope you and yer ghoul have a safe trip back."
Kettil was about to ask what was meant by 'almost a man' but his Father just wouldn't respond to him anymore as he left and so all Coyote heard from Kettil was, "Dad. Hey! What do you me--DAD...!"
The boil couldn't help but feel he was being sized up for some sort of challenge.

Freya had started to carry her luggage down the stairs when she heard Kettil's cry, and she slowed down, choosing instead to sneak just enough to get a glimpse of what was going on. Kettil's dad was already leaving, but Freya kept sneakily watching, just in case something private (or even better, juicy) happened.
But nothing did.
A few seconds later she bounced down the last few steps, a mimicry of what her boilfriend had done without realizing that she was doing it. The luggage came tumbling after, but she did not seem phased by it.
"Yeh okays, baby?" She murmured quietly, carefully. After all, he'd just been screaming after his dad. Who knows what she'd just missed.

Kettil startled a bit guiltily as Freya made herself known. He was so distracted by his thoughts that he hadn't even heard her or the luggage come tumbling down. So absorbed with his own thinking he just heard nothing until her voice. He put on a smile and turned to face her, "I'm fine! My dad is bein' a big fat weirdo. Like usual."
He was downplaying it a lot.
The boil moved to arrange the luggage quietly. "Just asked me about Endy and stuff. I ... I told him the truth of course," he couldn't lie to Freya even though he was trying to pretend everything was just fine.

The mention of Endy explained a lot. That guilty look on his face, and the fact the conversation with his father was a little more serious than she'd expected, all boiled down to the probability that they were talking about Endy, and Freya wrote it off as such. After all, it was a serious subject.. she was glad his father managed to bring it up before they left. She was just as worried about Endy, and the fact Kettil had only mentioned her a handful of times..
She settled her luggage against the wall, and moved to wrap her arms around his waist, pulling him into her embrace. "I gots yeh." She whispered, both to explain that she understood, and more importantly, because she held him.
"If yeh wants teh talks about her.." She left the offer open ended there, but her eyes spoke for her.

He let her embrace him - most others he would just push away. Kettil liked trying to do things on his own if he could help it, rarely did he cry out for help and when it did it was usually right about when the problem got to be too much.
There was a slow wind of his arms around her as he just leaned to rest his head on her shoulder, "...I just don't know what I'm going to do if she doesn't come back," he said finally. Talking about her or not talking about her, it hurt either away.
"Sometimes I feel my mind slipping away somewhere scary and if it weren't for you..I'd probably let it after Endy disappeared.." He said quietly.

Freya's head tilted just enough to kiss the top of his head. "Don't be ridiculous. Of course she's coming back. Just because something takes a long time.. isn't ever a reason to think it won't happens. But, I guess, maybe it's time teh tries and figures out if there's more yeh can does teh bring her back. Like, maybe a good fight? I'm always willing." Her lips turned up in a half-grin. "Or maybe just some times alone. I could be distracting yeh from focusing.."
Gasp. Was Freya the reason Endy wasn't back yet?!

"Fighting is part of the reason why she left," he pouted a little bit. "She wanted to be part of our fights but I didn't want to let her..She'd gotten so hurt and..."
He let out a huff of air and kissed the side of her neck, "You're not distracting me. If you were distracting me then I would get nothing done, ever."
He'd gotten a lot done, thank you.

"Ja, but that's the point, isn't it? Yeh says she wanted teh be a part of yehr fights. So why, then, wouldn't fighting bring her back? Maybe a good fights exactly what she wants, right now." He managed to distract her with kisses to the neck, and she started to drift off and forget what she was saying.
"Okays, I am not distracting." No, but she was most certainly thoroughly distracted.

If anyone was distracting, it was probably Kettil.
"Mmm," he said quietly in response to her logic, "Guess we could try it."
Why would he avoid sparring with Freya? Other than the last time it turned into her just tickling him into submission.
Cheater.
