Lin nodded, "You, me, your sister..."
She patted Earendil on the shoulder and grinned because Helen was never grew and therefore was shorter than her mother. The mental image in her head gave her the inner giggles.
"Even your ada will have some new clothes."

Earendil had to smile at that.
"You know, it's been quite a while since I've had new clothes," he admitted. Then a new thought occurred to him. "I wonder how he'll dress me ..."
he had always had the same style of clothing, and wasn't sure if he was ready for a change.

"Who knows... I... know very little about clothing styles," Lin admitted.
Mainly because she wasn't that interested in clothing styles at all.
"Miyuki knows more than I do."
Miyuki looked up but had a funny look on her face, "But not men clothing styles, there's only so many styles you can do for men."
She had seen a great variety in the kind of clothes women could wear but guys seemed all the same to her.

Earendil chuckled. "Well, I'm sure your uncle will think of something," he assured Miyuki. "From what I understand, there seems to be no limit to his imagination and inspiration."
"Nana, who are we going to visit next?" Andarien spoke up again, carrying his egg carefully.

"We're going to drop by the greenhouse where Yukiko's home and shop is attached to," Lin explained, "She grows and breeds plants for a living."
Though she was slowly leaning towards fruit and vegetable growing since they had brought back those samples from Nauros.

"Green ... house?" Andarien was confused by the term. "Why does the colour of the house matter? Do plants grow better if the house is green like them?"
Earendil chuckled. He wasn't entirely sure what a greenhouse was either, but he was quite certain that Andarien had the wrong idea.

Lin chuckled, she did suppose it wasn't a good description though she had a good guess why it was called that.
"Actually it's a glasshouse used for growing certain plants all year around, or plants that would normally grow in a hotter climate. I'm guessing they call it a greenhouse because it is a house meant for plants and most plants are green."
He would probably get to see for himself, the greenhouse and by extension Yukiko's house was the closest to the manor. It was hard to miss because it was a large house made out of glass.

Andarien wrinkled his nose. "I think I'll just call it the glass house," he decided. "It makes more sense."
Earendil sighed, then chuckled. "He may change his mind," he grinned at Lin.

Lin glanced over at Earendil in good humour, it wasn't the first time since arriving that Andarien seemed just put things in his own way. They exited the manor and took a left the closest left path available.
The greenhouse was only easy to spot because the white metal frames that made up the building's skeleton stood out against the leafy green plants, colourful flowers and brown wood. There seemed to be a lot of plants of all varieties lining the walls and more on the inside. The house almost looked like a mini jungle.
Attached to the greenhouse was a simple two story cottage, which had the shop on the ground floor and Yukiko's living quarters above.

As they approached the greenhouse, Andarien's eyes grew wide with surprise. He stared at it, taking in the sight of the green foliage within.
"That ... is ... wow," he murmured. "I guess it really is a green house!"
The green was far easier to see than the glass, at any rate.

Lin giggled, "It is, maybe we'll get to see inside of it later."
She hoped so, there were a number of plant samples from Arda that were growing in there so it always smelled really nice. They stepped into the little cottage/shop, a bell tinkled overhead.
Many of the flowers were set up in hip height metal vases. The vases themselves were set on the ground. This might seem awkward to the average person who would have to bend over to tend to them, but once one saw how tall Yukiko was, the reason for the set up made sense.

Andarien looked up at the bell when he heard it tinkle, and he blinked at it. Was this a home? Or a shop? Because as far as he knew, only shops had bells that announced when people would enter.
Earendil looked around as they entered. This place was very different from what he was used to, but he had to admit it was quite a pleasant setup. then again, he wasn't used to seeing plants in shops - so anything would have been new to him.

Yukiko was standing on a stepping stool hanging bundles of different herbs upside down to dry them out. The drying line hung close to the wall and was close to eye height on an average person.
She looked over her shoulder and smiled widely.
"Welcome!" she called over, "Just let me get this done quickly."
Then, with a clothespin she clipped the last bundle to the line before carefully getting down from her stepping stool.
"Setting up already?" Lin asked, she never did know how Yukiko's shop worked.
"Already? I've been up before the sun rose. Someone has to get those fresh herbs to the proper restaurants before lunch hour," Yukiko giggled, "And the proper potion ingredients shipped off to the school before their class starts. Someone at that school has been using too much morning glory seeds and for the wrong thing. Fortunately no one ingested it, that would have been bad, but Mother's replacement for the potion's class had to order more, and we're in spring. Wedding season is around the corner..."
Yukito paused for a moment as if she just thought of something.
"Which reminds me, the planting for the garden should be done soon, ah well... I'll deal with finding help for that later."
Looking up at the family before her she smiled again.
"But I have time now that the daily orders are complete. Will you join me for some juice in the back?" she asked them.

Earendil was flabbergasted by the amount of work that Yukiko had to do so early in the morning. He had never thought before about suppliers for the inn and shops, but now that he was thinking about it, he supposed it was true: they would all need their supplies first thing in the morning for the shops to run at their best. And for the inn, where they sold meals, they would need their food as fresh as possible.
"Are you sure you have time for a break?" he asked Yukiko as he followed her towards the back. "It sounds like you have an awful lot to do ..."
Andarien was going cross-eyed just thinking about it.
"I don't think I would like this job very much," he decided, jumping, as he always did, to a quick conclusion.

"I'm sure, very early morning is usually my busiest, so I'm one of the first people up. Most of my orders, as well my my largest is in the morning before everyone else's work day starts. The rest of the morning and early afternoon I tend to the plants and work on my projects, most of the time I don't need anyone in front and the bell at my front door triggers another bell in my work room and greenhouse so no matter where I am I can hear it."
She lend them into the back room, her workroom. The workroom was open to the greenhouse. It was warm as a result, but not as warm as the greenhouse itself. The island counter in the middle of the workroom was not in use, having been cleaned off the night before. The counters on either side of the room however were full of gardening tools and vases.
"I go out to man the front during the afternoon, most people get off from work so that is where my individual sales come from. Except the weekends, I need someone out there all day, but I always have help."
There were quite a number of children who weren't quite children in the main house and lacking any defined career plan they generally worked wherever they were needed. Often it meant, manning store fronts.
