Fumi stayed on the side for the next few moments, watching the events play out. To her, the safest path to go with everyone was silence, so she was completely... silent. It seemed to work, as the three people who cornered her early stopped paying attention to her, pretty much pretending she wasn't there. Fumi didn't really mind; it was better than how they treated her before. Plus, she was used to being ignored.

Then, Bartholomew started to head back to the safehouse. Sydelle and her companion followed him, while Tora went the other way back to her ship. Verra and the blob, Lucius, followed her. Fumi couldn't believe they were parting ways. Maybe they would meet again later. It seemed like a fairly small city. Fumi half-raised her hand to say goodbye, thought better of it, and dropped it sheepishly. Then she turned and followed Bartholomew and Sydelle, a few yards behind them, form flickering in and out of sight.

Raising a brow as the events unfolded, a shrug came from the woman. “We will meet again, I’m sure.” She didn’t know when nor did she care to think of when. Sighing softly, she made sure her gun was still holstered, nodding in approval before beginning to walk out, smirking at Verra’s little show. “Do we have a bipolar alien among us?” Amusement never left her eyes as she passed by Lucius, at least giving him some courtesy. If someone attempted to be of real use, then she typically didn’t have too many problems. If he became a problem, however, then they would see how fire resistant the blob was. “Wer’e going to my ship. Keep pace, don’t make yourself too noticeable. That goes for you too, Verra.” Her tone was harsh, sharp. She barely stopped to speak, soon walking away with long, quick strides.

Ziggy… she hoped that he’d be alright, but she honestly didn’t know. She had been gone for hours, maybe two, maybe three. He could handle himself, she was sure, but… what of the others? They had landed in the clearing outside of the city, a mile or so off. Zombies wouldn’t go there when there was so much to attack in the city. At least, she hoped not.

Strides quickening, she didn’t speak much as her senses stayed alert. If they were attacked by zombies, the three could easily fend them off. Or, they could run if Tora flayed a few. That would work as well. Now that they were out of the junkyard, her senses skyrocketed. Zombies were getting intelligent. It was a scary as s**t thing to deal with. And they were walking right into the heart of all of it. Fun.

“We’ll get to the ship, help survivors, and then find a place to hide out. By the time we get there, it’ll be getting dark. I don’t want to be out by then and I doubt you two do either.”

Prometheus looked towards the older man as he introduced himself and
smiled slightly beneath his helmet before he removed it, his long blonde hair
coming loose as he did so. He held the helmet at his side as he replied with
a voice that didn't sound at all mechanical, "My codename is Prometheus, I
come from a different time-line, but I can tell you the details of that later..."

He pulled out his 3D map from his kiddy knapsack and replied, "I used this
to scan the city for anywhere that might be useful to us--I was travelling with
others but they haven't come back yet."
Enlarging the map by touching it, he
pointed to their location and to where they needed to go. "We're not too far,
but we're going to have to make good time to make it there before dark. I'd
suggest we stick to the shadows and move as quietly as possible,"
he
advised with a cautious look around him. He put the map way after he shrank
it back down and pulled his hair back up before putting his face back into the
helmet. Prometheus knew a friendly face was better than talking to a helmet
and that was why he had taken it off to address them.

Knowing he had to let Icarius know where he was going, he briefly muted his
voice to those around him and sent a quick message to Icarius though their
helmets that allowed them to communicate before he unmuted himself and
listened to what the others (Morgan Duke and the other man) had to say.

"Behold what I, a God, from Gods endure!
Look down upon my shame,
The cruel wrong that racks my frame,
The grinding anguish that shall waste my strength,
Till time's ten thousand years have measured out their length!"
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . - Prometheus Bound

User Image

Hello Darkness, my old friend,
I've come to talk to you again
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain,
Still remains,
Within the sound of silence.

In restless dreams I walked alone,
Narrow streets of cobblestone.
'Neath the halo of a street lamp
I turned my collar to the cold and damp,
When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light,
That split the night,
And touched the sound of silence.

Morgan stared at the map with awe, not used to any sort of device, though
the closest thing he could think of might've been the iPad, though even that
seemed an insufficient basis of comparison. It was like nothing he'd ever
seen, and though Prometheus seemed all business, Morgan couldn't help
but locate his house and give off a soft sigh of regret.

The disipline of the other individual commanded his attention, though, and he
listened to him quietly at first. "So... from another timeline? We can walk and
talk... did they send you back or something to help us? Why are you here?"

Morgan was skeptical that this guy from the future was really sent back, but
he let himself hope for once (since the infection started) that things would
turn out like they should. Humanity would be saved, or perhaps just him.
That would be fine with Morgan, really; to be the last one standing.

Icarius turned to face the tiny creature and scowled at it. It was really
starting to piss him off with all its backtalk and seemingly all-knowing
attitude. "First of all, you never ever underestimate your opponent, and
secondly, who made you the expert on these undead pieces of s**t? You
may be from some alternate universe, but that just means you know less of
the rules here, so stop giving lip and start making yourself useful,"
he
snapped, irritated that this fluffy creature had shot down his perfectly sound
ideas with regards to security measures.

He heard a beep from his helmet and--discouraged--walked away from the
group and further into the supermarket to get some privacy and see what
was up with Prometheus. He put his helmet on and listened carefully to his
message. The sound of his lover's voice was oddly calming at a time like
this, and he sighed softly inside his helmet as he listened to the message
once more to make sure he'd heard everything:

"Icarius, I found a military base in the city. I'll send you the skematics as
soon as I can. I've gone out of the apartment complex and found myself two
new companions--don't worry, I'll keep my eyes on them--and we're going to
be heading towards it. Send me recognition that you got this, partner. Good
luck... be careful... love you."

Icarius sighed, and sent back a short affirmation message before he removed
his helmet once more and stuck in in his hood once again. He opened his
blood-stained hoodie to reveal his tattooed chest to cool off a bit before he
walked back to the group. "Prometheus found a military base. He'll be
sending me the location of it soon, but we should eat, finish the blockades,
and then find a safe route out of here so we can meet up with him,"
he said.

Natalie watched Alice leave through the crowd of zombies with conflicting emotions. At first, she wanted to chase after her—grab her by the wrist and drag the crazy nurse with them to safety. Then a desire to follow the other woman, whose name she might have learned while drugged but couldn't remember now, overwhelmed her.

"Alice! If you can hear me—Follow the spotlights!" she yelled after the fleeing nurse as a kind of compromise between these two urges.

Then she ran to the opposite side of the cafeteria, away from the horde and toward Jasmine and the shapechanger. As she moved, she scooped up her pack, tossed the gun inside (she was definitely not good enough to shoot accurately while running up stairs), and nearly grabbed Jasmine by the wrist. Quickly, she pulled back her hand, remembering the rule from what seemed like weeks ago. No touching, she reminded herself.

"My name's Natalie—Natalie Craig," she told the the shapechanger, panting. "Let's get to the roof. There's normally heavy duty doors up there on buildings like this. It'll keep the zombies at bay for now."

Of course Natalie didn't know for a fact that there would be one on this building, but she was pretty confident based on previous experiences. She did know for sure that they couldn't go back the way they came (that exit was stuffed with zombies) or go through any of the doors or windows on this level (the parking lot was swarming with them, too). The only choice was to go up. She'd think of something lat—

Then it hit her.

Max and Oliver were at a military checkpoint or something. And there had to be a helipad on the roof of a hospital this big. Didn't the military always have planes or helicopters?

"Keep moving," she asked the other women. It wasn't exactly an order, but more like she was pleading with them. With her free hand, she used the walkie talkie."Max! Oliver! Please be there—We need a helicopter or something at the hospital. We'll be on the roof. I repeat, the roof of the hospital!"

Her voice wavered some, relaying her uncertainty and fear, but at least she was speaking on her feet. She saw a sign up ahead, indicating the stairwell.

Miza

The Cycle brings Pain,
Pain brings life,
Life brings joy,
Joy brings hope…

Miza shook her head; as ‘intelligent’ as this man had seemed, he sure was sensitive. “Parallel universe, not alternate universe, there’s a difference. And even so, laws of physics and biochemistry don’t change between universes, they change between dimensions.” She couldn’t stand being looked down on simple because of her age or size, the latter being what she assumed was being used to dismiss what she’d said. “If they lack heartbeats, which these seem to, then they are ‘undead’. The undead are controlled via a parasitic infection in the brain firing electrical impulses to control what muscle tissue is left. They have but two priorities, to reproduce and to feed. They reproduce while inside their host body then infect others to make room so they can continue to reproduce. This pattern continues until they are unable to spread any farther, consuming the bodies already inhabited until they fall apart. Then the carrion eaters set in and you have an even bigger problem, unless the birds have already fled.” Miza realized at this point that she was rambling, but it didn’t matter. The guy with the helmet, Icarus she thought his name was, was one of those men; dismissing concepts from other simply because they hadn’t come up with them.

She was confident she didn’t like him now, and doubted that would change, but for the time being all sapient, non-infected beings were useful, to her and to others. Miza was realizing just how much not having eaten for a while was having an effect when the exhaustion began to set in. Her muscles got weak, and her mind slowed. She needed food soon, or it wouldn’t matter if she was right or not, at least not to her.

…Hope brings disappointment,
Disappointment brings failure,

Coraline saw that Icarius really didn't like Miza and Miza really didn't like Icarius. After Miza corrected him she was surprised of her knowledge, then she saw Icarius got a little tempt and left to cool himself down.

Coraline went up to Miza and got her knees, to try to be her height,"don't worry about him. I didn't like him at first for how rude he is. But after awhile you get used to it and he open's up a little bit."

Then she saw Icarius get back, he was talking about that Prometheus was at a military base, and that he would be sending the location to Icarius soon.

Coraline stood up and looked at Icarius,"when you were looking in the office, did you seem to find a map to the store? That might help us find a way out."Then Coraline thought for a moment, why would there be a map for the store, it's not that big but it was worth a shot.

Evelyn Alice

Open wide..

Alice felt trapped. She had managed to get out of that room but where was she to go now? Natalie said something about spotlights.. But that would be for later, she needed a way out NOW.
Stummbling before her, a huge beast growled. In horror she recognized what it was. It was one of her former lab rats, tossed down from the top of the hospital due to being a failure towards maintaining a stabalized cell structure. The fall plus her formula should have done this one in, yet here it was. It made her question if there were others like it still roaming around.
It had no skin what so ever ( it had been eaten way by the serum) and broken bones jutted out from all directions. It stepped towards her, letting it's organs trail with it. With a loud squeel, the monster smacked her into the wall and grabbed her by the feet, ready to slam her against it once more. By moving her she was able to see her exit point: The door to the garage area where the ambulances stayed.
Wriggling around as much as she could, the beast lost grip of her and sent her flying to the corner of the room. It ran at her but slipped on it's own intestines and cracked it's skull on the cream colored tiles.
With fear or running into anything else she quickly got up and scrammbled to the ambulances, flipping the garage switch to ensure a way out. She jumped in, slammed the door then reached underneath the seat for the key. Countless zombies were in front of her but she hit the gas and drove right into them anyway. Some climbed on top of the vehical while others clawed at the sides and the ones up front were busy being smacked against the wind sheild.
Soon they'd get the better of her though. There was no real way out of this so she held her wedding ring to her heart and prayed for some crazy miracle.

Atticus gasped at the sudden appearance of a rather robotic looking fellow, and after several seconds he realized his mouth was hanging open rather rudely, he snapped it shut and looked back to see Morgan shrug, so he kept his mouth shut and let the older man do the talking. Talk of a military base made him scratch his head, as he only recalled hearing of it as some mythical location, nothing that was ever very active, or maybe he was just even less observant than he thought. The two other men went through introductions before the new fellow removed his helmet, he had only moments to dwell on the strangeness of the name before Prometheus dropped the bomb: he came from another timeline. Atticus considered himself an intelligent guy but he never though that this kind of thing was possible, but after having seen zombies overrun the city he was ready to believe just about anything. He kind of peeked over Morgan's shoulder, like a child in an adult conversation, to look at the device Prometheus had retrieved, it was quite strange and Atticus wanted a chance to examine it, but he knew they didn't have the time nor did Prometheus seem too keen on letting anyone else touch it.

They began walking and Morgan began questioning the man in a way only an educator could, all business, extremely intelligent, cool disattachment. Attiucs resolved to let the two run things, since Prometheus seemed a lot more qualified and Morgan seemed quite a bit smarter than he. He looked around nervously, sure that his brave facade was cracking after that last surprise, and tried to keep an ear on the conversation and one on his surroundings. Though he had decided to let the other two men deal with the group's affairs, he figured he should introduce himself to the new fellow, realizing that his many years of manners training stayed in tact regardless of the whole apocalypse thing. "Oh, I'm Atticus Kowalski, Mr. uh 'Rometeus." he said, tripping over the unfamiliar name, his accent become more evident on unfamiliar words.

"Major! I'm reading that there are survivors on the roof of a hospital. Mobilize a couple choppers and get them. But tell the pilots to be careful of airborne undead." Elle ordered looking up from her computer for a moment. I'll go too." Tina offered getting bored of doing nothing. "No. I need you here." Tina's chance was shot down as two helicopters soared over head. One was an attack chopper and the other was for transportation. Both were flying fast toward the hospital.

As Natalie touches her, a wave of fear washes over her for a second, she tightens up, before turning back at the zombies seeing Alice race off. "What do we do? The bird brain ran off!" Of course, resulting to her old ways of calling people based on what she sees, she scowls. In her mind, she believed that Alice should be infected. The idiot ran off and she didn't know how much she knew, but with her on the fritz, she knew that she wouldn't last long.
"Let's hurry before I become re-disgusted with the human population," Jasmine muttered. All her life she hated humans, partly because they feel too much, they have violence, they love to hurt each other. Her, being in an orphanage of 20 kids picking on her and throwing things at her did that.
Looking up at the ceiling, then at the water and fluid on the floor from her flinging random things at the doctor, she wonders about the electrical system, before turning to Natalie,
"You go ahead. I'll find you. I can feel your emotions even if we aren't touching. I'll make sure That some of them back off. I'm going to electrocute them, but I will be okay, I promise you that."
She turns towards the zombies. Her eyes narrowed at them. a few of them within reach getting deep gouges in their head and body with zombie blood running out. The plan was perfect...

With a sideways glance to Sebastian, Noah replied to Courtney, since she
spoke first. "Thank you, but how do we get on the roof?" Once she
replied, Noah turned back to Sebastian. "I'll tell you some of it, then. I just
need to get something from the bedroom; I’ll only be one moment."
He
excused himself and nonchalantly went back for his bag. He didn't want
anyone to think he had precious items worth stealing (he did). Maybe even
more importantly, though, was not to give anyone reason to suspect he was
anything but the essence of calm. If he was honest with himself, he had
problems opening up to other human beings. To Noah, life was one big
battle, one big challenge to be overcome and resolved, or at least that was
how he was raised to see things.

"Warriors didn't expose weakness or advantages. You have to keep people
guessing in order to through them off from what you were really planning to
do."
That’s what his mother had taught him, her crisp-cut, clear voice
ringing though his head, making his heart heavy for a moment. Thanks to her
lessons (and a bit of a cynical nature towards others) Noah made sure he
was as mysterious and unmapped as the haunted nightscape that
surrounded he and the others now.

Once he retrieved his possessions from their hiding place under the bed, he
swung the pack onto his should once more, and the soft leather fitted just
right for his body, a color of brown that stood out against the vibrant red tee
he bore. It did not suit him, in his option, but Noah was getting over his
vanity. He really couldn’t expect to dress the way he had before he was
forced to hit the road, always in high-end men's fashion that match his
natural looks: eyes twinkles of hard, refined darkness under a veil of floppy,
black-sheen hair.

Noah’s brow furrowed. Clearing his mind from all those truly pointless
concerns, and feelings of his mother, he whistled for Noel as he made his
way back to the voices of Courtney and Sebastian.

"O-okay," Natalie stuttered as she slowed to a stop, seeing Jasmine round on the zombies like she was ready to do some serious battle. It was against everything she believed in to leave someone, another survivor, standing there to face the fight alone, but if Jasmine insisted... "I'll keep the roof door propped open as long as I can. Meet us soon as possible!"

Like an answer to her prayers, the walkie talkie crackled in a way that was becoming very familiar.
"Lady in charge is... two helicopters to you. Get ready!"

With renewed determination, Natalie charged toward the stairwell. (She really hoped this adrenalin rush would last, because once she crashed, she was going to be freaking exhausted.) She wasn't sure if the others were following, but she wanted to make sure there was at least one person up top to meet the military.

Emmerah listened to the exchange between the two girls, and her lips twitched into a tiny smile.
Good, people are easier to manipulate and explore when they're alone.
As the girl with the Walkie-Talkie began to head towards the roof, Emmerah spoke to her.
"I shall go to the roof with you" She held out her hand as if for a handshake, but quickly removed it. "I'm Emmerah, by the way. You are?"

She walked briskly as she spoke - her steps still holding some of the strange atmosphere as before, when she had moved without moving her legs. There was no doubt in her mind that they didn't have long before the other girl had to retreat or get over-run by zombies.
