Jake listened to the story with increasing interest. "So, Arc-san forgot because the boy he rescued couldn't remember?" He would have asked about what happened to the boy, but he figured the Head Maid had stopped for a reason. The servant still didn't understand why Arc wanted to forget the incident, though. Was he just mad? Did he want the boy he saved to recognize what could have been a sacrifice? It just seemed very weird to him.

She shook her head and tears gushed forth. "He refuses to remember the incident beacuse he rescued the boy he hates so much. And the boy is living now, yes he is. Arc-san couldn't fight his training, the training to rescue someone when they are in danger, even if it puts his own at risk. As he was probed with questions, his mind was rewriting itself and the fever in the hospital helped push the rewrite even further. He couldn't even answer cause his anger for the boy was so strong." In an attempt to regain herself, she took some time to compose. "His body is forcing him to relive the incident, to go through the feeling of icey water, his hands being frozen to paralization and the hazy frost in his eyes. Yet his mind won't let his body win." She hoped he wouls ask about the boys name whom he had saved.

Now it made a little more sense, though it hurt a little. He felt bad for the boy, whoever he was, because Arc had only saved him out of instinct. "Are you telling me he kind of... wishes he left him to die?" Jake asked hesitantly. "It just sounds like that's the case. I mean, he forgot the incident just because he rescued someone he hated. Doesn't that seem off to you?" He would have asked who the boy was that Arc saved, but he was too focused on that one bothersome detail.

She clutched her apron, she had read and reread both health records of both boys. "May the Late Master Talon forgive me for saying this. Though he made us promise not to tell you both, but this is causing my heart to grieve so and I can not let it go on any longer."

She stood up, strong and will full, where Arc got his strength from watching her while growing up. Every tear now gone in her eyes. "May he forgive me for these words I am going to say. Jake, you are the boy he rescued that day. You are the boy who was in a comatose state for a month. It's not your fault where you have just one blank slate missing from your memory, its the fault of the person who pushed you over the bridge. Their fault for that both of you can't remember what happened. His warewolf instinct's are telling him to remember. Oh Late Master, forbid me again for saying these words. You were bought to become Arc-san's mate." She tried to keep her voice steady, not wanting to wake Arc up but she reached inside her doormant powers and raised a wall, wings spread from her back, they were a glorious cardinal red.

"The Late Master could tell from deep with-in that you both were supposed to be together. Warewolves, they are match makers. He matched me with my husband. Arc-san, Arc-san, he is refusing to give in, he gets that from me." She sank in a fit off sobs. "Its the reason why you were passed on in the will." The Head Maid felt like a sense of guilt washed over but her heart told her she did the right thing. She couldn't even look up and her legs felt like jello. "He has a kind heart, but its hidden, only you can draw it out." She dragged herself to the door and the Butler picked her up. He smiled at the boy and handed the health reports to him. He turned, showing a squral tail.

Jake had been in shock, frozen as he must have been before, as he heard the Head Maid's confessions. He was frozen when she finally left, and her husband gave him some files that he supposed were the reports. It took a while, but he eventually gathered the courage to look through the files. There it all was, undeniable evidence that this had happened. For some reason, he couldn't help but feel a little worse, because Arc didn't want to accept that he was the reason why Jake was still alive. The servant couldn't help feeling that Arc secretly wished he had left him to die.

It was a lot to take in. First, someone had tried to kill Jake; second, Arc had actually saved him despite his hatred; third, the angel was bought to be Arc's lover and not simply a servant. He couldn't decide whether to be scared, hopeless, angry, or saddened. So this had been why Jake wasn't granted freedom.

Now, another problem stood. Jake had planned to leave this place, but now he felt conflicted. He was apparently supposed to be the one to help Arc somehow, but he honestly was beginning to want nothing more to do with him. It didn't help that Arc appeared to hate him so much.

A growel ripped from where Arc was, his hands had formed into big claws, he began to unconsiouly dig into his shoulder, drawing blood. Another growel escaped and the ears showed, followed by the tail. Arc was shifting it began to hurt him. He groweld louder. But the furthest in the shift he got was, the ears, tail, wings, hands and feet.

The nightmare was winning, his wolf instincts finally had a grip on him. He called a name out in pain and turned to look at the boy. "Jake...make this pain stop." the free clawed hand dug into the other shoulder and he howeled, painfully. Arc was in a conflict with himself. Blood began to trickle from his ears. Then, he passed out.

Quietly, the staff huddled in the kitchen, the only one who moved about, was the cook, concerned as he was, he began to make the evening meal. Hoping to take his mind off from the chaos upstairs.

Jake had dropped the files in order to tend to Arc, but the most he felt he could really do was wipe away the trickling blood or massage Arc in some areas where he figured had hurt the most. He never really had much medical training, especially with these fevers. Perhaps angels were supposed to have healing powers or something, but Jake never felt the need to find out. Now, he kind of wished he had tried, because they might have been really helpful right now.

It took a short while for Jake to register that Arc had actually called his name. When was the last time he had heard his name from the master? In fact, when was the last time he heard Arc call to him for help? It was just so strange and almost frightening, and the angel could really only think about helping him now.

---Arc stared at the wolf in front of him. It is large, dark navy, winged creature, then it spoke. "Why do you resist?"
"Me? Resist?! No such thing." He scoffed.
"Stuborn, I see. Then why do you fight"
"Fight?! There is nothing to fight."
"Ah, there is an answer but you still resist your instincts."
"Instinct's, that is second nature."
The wolf laughed. "Prideful are we? Yet, stuborn. Why do you fight me?"
"There is nothing to fight."
The wolf shook its mane out, silver stars shot forth. "Then, you are fighting me, fighting yourself."
"Do tell how I am fighting myself?"
"You are me and I am you. One in the same, yet you fight what has already been set on the path before you."
Arc chuckled then it grew into a laugh, throwing his head back. "Then if you are me and I am you, why do you insist on such silly illusions?"
"Because it is true. Illusions you yourself created to escape the honest truth. Then tell me this, Head Alpha of Wolves, why were you given a middle name such as 'Majesty?'"
"Because I have enormous power."
"Correct but yet incorrect. It is our power. We are one in the same."
"All because you are Head Alpha of Wolves."
"No, we are. Arc Majesty Talons. Arc, a symbol of truth. Majesty, to rein regal yet truthful. Talons, To hold the truth through. Our name."
Arc stabbed a finger at the wolf. "Then return to me if you are me."
"Very well, but we shall talk when a visitor comes." The wolf spread its wings and with a single flap, exploded into countless stars.
Arc stared into the darkness.----

In his passed out sleep, he mumbled a name once in a while, that of the boy he rescued.

Jake felt that he couldn't help Arc as he was. So, after once again wiping off any sweat on Arc and replacing the cloth on his forehead, the servant left to find at least one person from the staff. He recalled that the Butler had said they knew Arc was a shifter, and it seems that the Head Maid and the Butler were shifters themselves, or at least had animal characteristics. Perhaps at least one of them knew about angels? Or there was a book about angels somewhere that Jake could look through.

For some reason, the house seemed rather empty, as if no one wanted to be around while Arc was sick. It was rather spooky. He did come across the library, so he hurried inside to find an encyclopedia or something on shifters. It was fortunate that he knew exactly where those were, and it was even more fortunate that they were set in alphabetical order, so finding one on angels wasn't too hard.

With not one minute to waste, Jake took the book with him on his search for the rest of the staff. On the way, he read the known and possible abilities that angels were supposed to possess. The one that caught his attention the most was ability to heal from the mind. Well, now it was time to ask the staff what to do.

He eventually found them in the kitchen, though all strangely acting as if it was the end of the world. Perhaps it was to them, because it was clear that they cared about Arc. It almost made Jake feel bad that he was the only one who was more disturbed than worried. "Erm... Can you help me? I think I know how to help the master, but..." He held the book in his hands, hoping at least one person would get the hint. Jake had never really been very close to anyone from the staff, so it was quite awkward speaking to them.

The Head Maid looked at him, she was holding onto her husband for dear life, her legs still weak. "Yes Jake?"

"It's this ability here: healing from the mind. I think it can help Arc-san, but I need some help awakening it," Jake explained as he approached her. "I might be able to go to his mind and help him from there if I know how. I shouod probably practice, too."
PostPosted: Thu Sep 12, 2013 12:32 am

She stumbled over. "There may not be time to practice." She took the book and thumbed it open. "The wolf inside of him will tear him up if he fights it." The butler caught her as her knees buckled. "You may not have the strength too even attempt it but are you willing to risk it to help save him?" Her motherly instinct was taking over.

"I'm willing to risk," Jake simply replied. "I'm kind of the reason why Arc-san is suffering, so I have to do something about it. If his sickness is just because he refuses to remember, then diving into his mind should help." He didn't add that he had nothing to lose. He made no mention of how he was planning to leave, anyway. He might be able to draw enough strength to help Arc, but maybe not enough to preserve himself. The encyclopedia did say that mind healing was life-threatening to the angel, and possibly the patient, if not practiced.

"Okay then." She looked at the staff. Telling them to get the materials needed. "Jake, we are going to have to reverse the events. We'll use the hot tub, make it freezing cold, as cold as that day." She plucked a red feather. "First is hypnosis, to cast you into the state of comatose. Then everything after that, it will be in the tub. We'll give you a scuba tank to breathe with."

"The only way we can awaken your powers is that you have to relive the incident. I believe that they were sealed away. I remember that you were practiceing before that."

Jake would have opted out of reliving something so traumatizing, but Arc's life was at stake right now. He guessed that reliving the incident would awaken his memories, thus awakening his ability if the Head Maid was right. The angel couldn't help wondering why he would be practicing mind healing back then, though.
