He frowned, not liking her distress at all. If he could, he would have hugged her, but he was limited in doing anything. Her worry only made his own crawl out, and he swallowed, a shadow passing over his features as he tried not to express the same feelings. Instead, he forced a weak smile. "We all are. At least we can be scared together."
He tried to squeeze her fingers a bit more, but even trying almost broke their tiny hold. "You were very amazing back there in that room. You walked right into that that mouth into the room full of those fake reapers without any fear. I was very impressed."

Ignore the whispers, Roch told himself. Until he could figure out how to get them out, all they would do would be stress him out more. Instead he grabbed onto Ren's comment.
"Threw 'em, huh?" he asked, looking back to Jove. "When we get back to Halloween, dawg, you and me are gonna get you some new shoes. Ones with steel toes. The jacktards will REALLY regret running into you again after that."
He couldn't figure out how it was operating. Jackdammit, there had to be something he could switch, or hit, or--

Watching Calder and Freya - despite the fact that he knew they were not a couple - made one question burn within Ren's mind, one that he had been dying to ask since Roch had entered the tent the first time. Every half crazed emotion he had managed to shove aside in favor of dry humor towards Tybalt was now raging back inside.
Slowly he dragged himself over to the edge of the cage in awkward, painful movements, his fingers trembling as he curled them over the side, between the bars.
"Roch..." he said, and his voice was barely above a whisper. "Roch...have you seen..."
A sudden panic seized him, and Ren swallowed hard, fighting back his roller coaster emotions.
"Have you seen LW? Um," he added, desperation rising, but he tamped it down, trying to stay calm. "She's - she's a red werewolf, she's got red hair and she's short and..."
Please let her be all right.

Calder's praise made her smile, and she took in a deep breathe, as just a little bit of her fear left her. Calder's presence was exactly what she needed - a soothing reminder that there was still gentle people who cared about her in this world. Even if they were only new friends, it was nice to know he was there.
"Yeh knows I'd do it again, for our herd. They're comings for us, Calder." Her finger scratched gently against his. "They're comings for us."
There was a glimmer of fear in her eye for one moment. Her voice lowered to a whisper. "They.. are comings. Aren't they?"

Roch stopped, his mind going over the fight scene he'd left behind. "Red wolf? Yeah," he said. "I think I saw one. But I can't swear it was her, I've only met her at school for a moment, remember? And never in that form." Then he turned, looking at them all with a grin.
"Do you really think I'd make it here with only that guy?" he asked, shoving a thumb in Yuki's direction. "They're all out front, fighting the guards. Christof, Herryk, Shun, Mitsu, a lot of people I didn't recognize. I'm just a sneaky little jacker and came around back when the hunter guys weren't looking. Even if we can't save you this way, we can rely on those guys, okay? I swear I saw a short guy with a massively scary amount of FEAR--I think it's Invi."
Which really sort of depressed him, cuz he was dying to see the guy fight. Did Roch have a man crush on the horseman? Yes, yes he did.

Calder stuck his tongue out playfully at the thought, his eyes half open as he continued to watch her. He then flicked his hands a few times to try and pat it. "You didn't even know us that well, and you risked everything to save Barth. Herryk. He likes Barth and he likes you a lot. He won't stop. And Christof, he likes you, and he really likes Barth. Barth is his master. Yeah. They'll come. You were there. Remember. We didn't stop for anyone. Even when we were allowed to go home. They'll come."
...home....want home... The voice continued in his ear.
Turning his fingers about, he hooked his pinkie with Freya's. "Promise."

"...Christof?" Barth repeated, "...and Herryk? They're both outside?" Just beyond the tent? That close?
He couldn't see beyond the tent flap.
Fighting. That meant they were both on their feet feet, and...Calder had...
"Calder, what happened with that pendant? You took it out earlier. Isn't it- how did it...?"

Ren's heart seized in his chest, and without thinking he grabbed the bars of the cage, wanting to throw himself forward, forgetting that he was locked away. A loud crackle of electricity shivered from his hands down his arms and through his body, making him let out a small gasp of pain and leap backwards abruptly, clenching his fingers.
"You saw her?" he said, ignoring the fact that his hands were now trembling worse than ever and staring at Roch. "You - I mean, you saw a red werewolf that wasn't Professor Red?"
The idea that there were more people out there - people other than Roch and the blue haired one who had been the first to appear - made Ren's heart leap.
LW. Natalia. Mei-Xiu. Whisper.
Who's out there?

Calder turned his head, looking over to where Barth stirred in his cage. With his other hand, he reached into his sweater and held up the pendant. "It doesn't work. They told me something and I didn't do it. It hasn't done anything to me." He didn't know why. Maybe it wasn't good against kelpies, but Calder would keep it on just in case they wanted to use it on anyone else. Barth had told him that he didn't want Christof to have it on which meant Calder just wore it instead.
"I wanted to keep it so the not reapers would think I was under their spell. That way I could get here." He tucked the pendant back. "...but it didn't work so good." Again, he wasn't that much of a mastermind to think things through. He was a more of the spur-of-the-moment monster.

Roch's speech had Freya's eyelids fluttering. All she needed to do is hear Herryk's name, and her entire body flushed with warmth. Now all she wanted was to burst out of this cage, slam out of the tent, and join them in the fight.
But she couldn't.
She stared up at Roch lifelessly for a moment, before her lower lip dropped out in a pout. Then her eyes flickered to Calder, and she wrapped her pinky in his.
"I wants- no, needs to be free. Fighting. Not useless in this cage."
Herryk was right outside, but as far as she could tell, he was a million miles away. And she was losing hope of freedom, fast.
"Maybe is better." She murmured, flickering her gaze to the machine. That machine Calder had been put in. "What happens in there, Calder?"

"I can't promise, man," Roch said seriously. "I wish I could. I didn't see Red here, but hell, I only met her at the beginning of this jackin' field trip, I've never seen her wolf form either." Although he wasn't surprised she was a werewolf.

Barth looked uncomfortable as he tucked it back into his sweater.
"Moot point, now. You....shouldn't keep it around your neck." Barth looked at Freya, then he looked at the machine. "It's...if they try to put you in there again, Calder, it's not- it's not just a matter of respawning. Don't- please don't let them."

Calder wasn't sure what Barth was getting at, and so pulled out the pendant again. "If I take it off, someone might get hurt. You...or Christof, and Christof might be saving us. Can't let him get captured." Calder smiled at the pendant, proud he was holding it and in turn keeping his friends from hard. He set it back into his sweater, and then felt his hand get heavy. Slowly, his hand dropped, and Calder pulled it back into his cage. "Sorry, Freya. My arm is sleepy." A lot of him was sleepy.
Curling his arms in, he addressed them both. "The tube isn't bad. It just got foggy. You start to feel like you're going to vanish, like right before you wake up and find your in the front yard, but it last a long time. That's all. Nothing bad. I don't like the voice though." He stuck a finger in his ear and shook it to try and get the sound out. "As if I know how to go home. The voice can't wait at all." He flopped his hands back on the floor and curled in. Tired. He wanted a nap.

SO YOU GOT INTO THE TENT Tent rolls are now reset.RULES:- If you have successfully entered the tent through stealth, you will note that none of hunters appear to be within. (Caelius having left prior during the excitement, looking smug and mysterious, the remaining techs trailing in his wake like a row of nervous duckings. Will he return? You better hope not.)- The cages are all firmly locked, but there is a key card hidden somewhere in the tent. To search for it, roll 1d20. If you roll a 20, congratulations, you have found a key and will get to spend the rest of the round figuring out how to unlock the cages and letting each of the captives free. - You can roll to find the key up to three times. - Feel free to continue to RP your angst, traumz, and tearful reunions for the rest of the round. WHAT IS THE THING OVER HERE? Generator HP: 59/60 The OOC You may attack it up to two times (in addition to your key hunt...and by this I mean that you can do the maximum amount of each, 3 key searches and 2 attacks) but for every time you successfully land a hit, the power surges dangerously, causing -3 HP to you.

The joy Ren had felt at Roch possibly seeing LW faded somewhat, his expression turning from happy to near desperate. He swallowed hard, forcing himself to remain calm, and gave what might have been a nod, were it not for the fact that he was lying on his back now, wings pressed limply against his back.
"LW's a little werewolf," said Ren in a small voice, half to himself. "Professor Red is huge and she stands on her hind legs."
He turned his head slowly, eyes finding the younger boil. Instead of sadness, however, the burning hatred was back, searing through his veins.
"Don't let them win."
