((Josh Bat - 10 - 4 = 6 !))<******** ******** BAT. ******** ARM. ******** SPACE. ******** EVERYTHING.

"YOU GET BACK DOWN HERE YOU ******** c**t !"

It was probably good his mother was nowhere around here. She would probably have sprouted a few more gray hairs. Apparently Joshua had been hiding a lot of rage under his more or less calm demanor...

His valid hand lashed out, graping the bat's wings and sending it crashing against the rainbow-path.

"HA ! TAKE THAT !"<******** bats.

The bat came back at Amy after she had sent it sprawling onto the floor. Sadly, she hadn't been too worried about it, and more worried about keeping Joce and Regina safe. It managed to get the upper hand, smashing its wings against her head. Amy got a few bite marks on her face, and in the middle of the struggle Amy slipped and twisted her ankle. Pain shot up her leg as she gasped, a slight scream escaping her mouth. Between the bat trying to bite her face up and the constant thumping sounds of the wings, Amy was feeling disoriented and useless. Running, or even walking in general was going to be nearly impossible now. She tried to take a swing at it, but it retreated momentarily, probably to ready another strike at the poor girl.

"Hmm?" The teen lifted her head from Felix's chest at the sound of his voice, then blinked as she realized she could hear him. Not fully, she wasn't entirely sure what he'd said, but she heard the murmur of it, and with his came others. Voices bubbling up all around her, and though they were still very muffled, they helped to drown out the ringing that'd been plaguing her. A wave of relief hit her with enough force to make her knees weak, and she clung to the young man before her as laughed happily. Even through the padded haze of hallucinations she'd worried that the hearing lose would be permanent. "I can hear," she pipped up happily, grinning up at the young man. "Not in detail, but I can hear your voice." It was a decided improvement.

Pale features softened as she continued to look up at him, and that happy little grin softened into something just a little less joyous and little more alluring. Pale brows dipping until she was watching him through half lidded eyes that seemed a little less hazel then they had only seconds before. She was gazing at Felix as if she was seeing him for the first time, and perhaps she was. In all the chaos she hadn't been paying attention to his looks. Not the line of his jaw, nor the color of his eyes, and all of a sudden those simple so easily missed things seemed to capture her full attention.

Ginger hair was awash with spreading violet, a bright Easter grass tint to match the changed hue of her eyes. Pale skin darkening just a touch as lavender added it's influence, brightening the soft speckling of freckles that touched her cheeks.

"Thank you," she murmured at last. Small hands gliding up along his chest to rest on his shoulders. Thumbs tracing lightly along the sides of his throat. "You saved me."

It was as she was raising on tip toes with full lips half parted and eager that something crashed into her from the side and sent her sprawling against the rainbow path. Her shoulder struck the solid stretch of the ground as she landed and gave a sickening pop. Catching the girl's breath in her throat as she gasped before a pained cry followed. Violet tainted eyes widening in renewed terror as she spotted the thing that had hit her as it circled above for another strike. It was a bat, but not one she had ever seen before, and certainly the biggest.

(Bat HP: 10
Stat of personal injury: Dislocated shoulder.)

He had hit the bat the first time; it shouldn't be too hard to do it again, right? Jett even, in fact, had moved and was about to kick it when it moved--and scared him half to death.

Whatever drive he'd had to crush the beast was short live and though no audible yelp of fear and frustration fell from his lips, he was positively stunned when the creature's wing twitched and it shoved itself up off the ground. It came at him faster than he had time to react to; even his adrenaline was useless. He was expecting the worst--teeth, claws--biting, gnashing, gnawing, tearing; pain greeted him, but it was no harder than a foul punch in the ring.

The bat, flailing and disoriented from Jett's earlier blow, apparently, hadn't been seeing so clearly and tackled right into Jett's chest. That wasn't what really hurt; Jett toppled to the ground and knocked his tail bone again the road. A sharp his fell from his lips and his vision faded for a split second.

A gut wrenching scream wailed from behind him; he didn't have to look to know it was Raven but he couldn't see what was happening. She'd fallen? No. It had to be worse. She was being eaten alive. A hoard of bats had gotten to her and were ripping flesh from the bone, Jett knew it. And it was going to happen to him, next, he knew it. He was too afraid to push himself up and though perhaps he could scramble away and hide behind someone else for protection, but this bat--if he didn't get rid of this bat, he'd meet some awful fate, just like he was sure Raven had.

He was apparently better at dodging than he was attacking, and he rolled away as the bat came in for another attack.

He wasn't completely successful, as the bats claws managed to scratch his torso, but most of the attack was absorbed by his now lavender shirt, and royal purple vest.

"You're so ruining my buzz, bat thing." He had been having the best sugar high of his life, and this stupid space bat was making it not so much fun.

She was bleeding.

She was in pain, and she was bleeding. And suddenly, she was hit with a strange, wonderful sense of clarity.

That bat creature wasn't the most attractive thing in the universe...

No. No!

Jett was. And he was right near to her!

It was amazing. It was fantastic! The bat let out another screech and Raven punched it hard in the face with her good hand, causing it to crumple and fall, then let out a girlish giggle, running to Jett. "Hey baby! Come give Mama Raven some smoochie time!"

Jocelin sniffled as she tried to swat at the bat while it nipped her. "God damn it! Go away you ******** .... ow!" Half crying from the frustration and the other half from pain she yanked her other shoe off while the huge creature tugged at her hair.

Anger and frustration powering it she hefted the boot in both hands and swung it at the bat with all her might. The creature came at her, mouth open, and the heavy steel toe and thick soul of her boot slammed into the creatures head. There was a wet crunch and the bat dropped onto the road at her feet.

Dropping her shoe she dropped down to her knees, shoe falling from her hands, and started to sob. This wasn't fair. She had been at home being a good girl, she hadn't even gotten in a fight that week, and now she was in the middle of nowhere with people yelling and strange creatures attacking her and her arm hurt and her ears were still slightly ringing.

Ian whimpered. "This isn't fair," he whined, plopping down on the floor, as the bat attacked him again. It apparently hadn't expected that, and only managed to catch Ian's eye with it's wing. He would have a black eye from that, but at this point, he didn't really care. He just wanted the sugar high to come back.

While this position left Jett prone to attack, sitting on the ground was actually the best thing for him. His tailbone was aching, but he was aware of two things.

The first, that the bat had regained it's blance and was coming straight at him. The second, Raven--crazy or not--was also coming straight at him.

His heart was in his throat, but Jett did the only thing his fear poisoned mind could; he curled his hand into a fist and swung towards the bat. It collided with his fist with a sickening crunch. If it hadn't killed the bat, at the very least, Jett was begging it would leave him alone. In a tangle of body and wings, the oversized bat smacked into the ground next to Jett.

It was hardly anything to hide behind, but as soon as he was done dealing with it, he had Raven to worry about. Raven, who very possibly might still be raving mad. Raven, who had survived--and was still barreling towards him.

He should run. She was coming at him too quickly--and she had that gleam in her eye, and she was bleeding and he was positive that she was still deranged--and that he was going to catch it from her.

Jett kicked at the ground, scrambling to get up, but the injury to his tailbone left him sore and his fear left him uncoordinated; he only fell back on his rump, hands pressed against the road behind him to prop himself up. He couldn't run from Raven. She was bigger than the bat—quicker. He couldn’t move at all. He stared, horrified, counting away the seconds before his impeding doom. Each step she took was an inch closer to his demise.

He didn't even fight as the bat came back at him again, biting into his shoulder and then taking back off. He was sure that the bat was just going to attack him again, and he just didn't care. "Go away," he said, batting at the air halfheartedly. "Shoo."

As soon as she thought maybe she had everything figured out, Varya figured out that she didn't again. In a blink of an eye the whole world was humming, and she was humming along with it. Looking down, her skin had turned a shade of deep purple, and her hair was lilac instead of silver. "What?" She turned over her hands in amazement.

Varya had never felt so alive. All at once, everything that had been mundane or scary had turned exhilarating and... and... sensual. Every brush against her skin was exquisite. Var moved through the throng of people around her, enjoying the brush of various colors on her skin. When had everyone gotten so colorful?

But nothing mattered once she saw Sailor Leo. He was resplendent, and the beam of light he shot from his hand glittered in the sky. The bat attacking her was largely forgotten as she stumbled towards him, the feeling of it breaking her arm was not however. "Please, please help me!" Varya stumbled towards the sailor, leaving the bat mostly broken from hitting her arm, but still barely alive. Under her breath Var whispered 'so handsome'. It didn't matter if the bat killed her while she was looking at someone so fine.

When the bat came back for another round, Ian was ready. The whale's song had reinvigorated him, and he used his shoe as a nun-chuck, as it flew towards him. It hit the bat with a sickening crunch, and it fell to the ground.

1 hit: KO!

"Yay!" He sprung up, and bounded around again, back to being as passionate as he was at first. "Did you guys see that? It was so cool. I was like whoosh, and it was like Kathunk."

He would be hurting once this hyperness wore off, but for now, the pain that the bat had inflicted on him was only minor, a throbbing that he wasn't really aware of.

Oh dear. Everything was getting a little crazy. If this was some sort of show, the effects were amazing. He was feeling hazy and strange, and now it seemed he was blue.

Things were going well?

Except his ever present happy attitude was being impeded on by... something. A strange kind of feeling, like a weight in his stomach. On his shoulders. Everything kind of sagged and his eyes lost that sparkle they often carried. He looked around at all the chaos around him, and for the first time in a very long time, Grant felt sad.

He wasn't sure he liked the feeling, and that just made it worse.

Faced with a sudden existential crisis that made him question everything he believed about the world, and all his faith in good and happiness, he took a moment to decide what to do, watching a bat as it fluttered his way. A space bat. That was sad. Did they breathe in space? Did he have a little space bat family, with little space bat babies, and a crazy space bat uncle that embarrassed him at reunions? Were all these other bats that family?

Look at all the bats, being punched and hurt and killed in various other ways. Look at all the people, too, being hurt or taking triumph in their murder of the space bat family.

Grant felt like crying.

As the bat swooped in to say hello, Grant threw his arms up in an effort to hug it, and gain some comfort from its presence. Try and assure it that he was its friend, not its enemy. He managed to smack the thing hard enough to send it spiraling, which dragged from it a miserable shriek and from him a miserable sob.

Why was life so hard all of a sudden?
