Aria smiled and grinned deviously.

"That was a little corny. Try another one."

She was actually flattered that someone would wake up early just to come and see her. She didn't think she'd wake up early to see herself.

Dante thought the question. He wasn't even sure when he wanted to go. He just wanted his headache to go away before he did anything. "Well when my headache goes away first. I'll have her text me when her boss gets in. I gotta talk her into letting Aria leave. It won't be that hard since I know the boss." Dante said as he went and sat at the kitchen table. He took out his phone and texted Aria.

Hey let me know when Trisha gets there. And Victoria is going with us. I have a proposition for you too. It'll benefit us both

Dante put his phone on the table. He put his head down and shut his eyes. He wished he hadn't drank last night.

Victoria saw that he felt horrible, so she decided to leave him alone. She excused herself and went into the living room, sitting on the couch and trying not to pay attention to anything. She stared at the blank television, wondering where the remote was. Actually, she hadn't seen it since last night. She looked around for it but came up empty. Not surprised, she knew she would find it somewhere in the messy apartment, like she always did. She wanted to clean this mess up, but she felt too terrible and decided she would do it tomorrow.

Daren was still a little red in the cheeks as he said, "I am corny. I don't really flirt all that much, so.." He trailed off and shrugged his shoulders, smiling sheepishly at her. "I don't have any more lines." He turned away from her and glanced out the window when he heard her phone beep. Probably Dante, or another one of her friends.

Aria grinned and slid her phone out of her pocket.

"What about: Did it hurt? Then I'd be like 'Did what hurt?' And you'd be all like 'When you fell from heaven."

She laughed and quickly replied: Okay, will do.

((I only meant quote me in the chatterbox forums.. sweatdrop ))

Daren burst out laughing when he heard this line, and turned back to her. He snorted and replied with a grin, "See, that was a good one. I wouldn't be able to do that." He moved closer to her and put on his best smolder. He then said, "Do you have a map? Because I just keep on getting lost in your eyes." He wrapped both arms around her waist and asked quietly, "Did that work, or was it still corny?"

((I see. Sorry about that ^__^"))

Aria blushed slightly but tried to hide it as best she could.

"That was better.."

Just then Trisha burst through the door carrying bags from the Waffle house down the street. She eyed Aria and Daren and set the bags down on the counter.

Well, well, well, what did I miss?"

Dante was rudely awoken when his phone vibrated in front of his face. He looked at it with disgust before opening it. The vibration sent a sharp pain through his temple. He checked it and closed it after seeing Aria's message. He decided that anything that he did would not make his head feel any better. He looked around and didn't see Victoria at first. It was quiet and she was just sitting there on the couch alone and with the t.v. off. He got up out of his chair at the table to go sit with her. He gently sat down on the couch. He sat there for a while thinking about what he would say to her. He wanted to ask her something, but being the person that he was, he didn't know how to ask her. It had been on his mind since he first met her. He finally started to speak.

"Hey. So, uh, I kinda have a question. I don't really know how to ask this, let alone know if I can even ask this, but-" Dante said nervously before pausing. He searched for the words that he wanted to use. "Would you want to go to the movies tonight? Maybe do something that interests you? Kinda like a-" Dante started to trail off. "Man I'm such a smooth talker" Dante sarcastically thought about himself. He didn't want to finish the sentence. He was not the type of guy to go on dates, let alone ask a girl on one. He was known in his group of friends as the player type. His friends would always observe him when it came to relationships. They wanted to see how bad he would crush the girl, without actually crushing her. They always noticed that the girl would be led on by Dante, but he never went past that. He would never take it a step further. Dante would lead them up to the date and just stop. They thought it was because Dante liked hurting people. That he liked to crush the hopes and feelings of anyone he came in contact with, just like he enjoyed crushing the bodies of those he fought. But what they didn't know was the real reason: Dante didn't know how to ask the question.

Victoria watched him sit down next to her and she turned to him slightly and smiled. She waited for him to say something, but a few minutes passed without anything said, and she started to get discouraged. She had a bad feeling that she was boring him to the deaths, and she didn't know how to fix it. What should she say? Something random? She decided Dante was just felt just as awkward as her, as he kept fidgeting and not meeting her eyes.

She watched him open his mouth and words came out, and she listened to them. Once she realized what he was intending her cheeks flamed. She had never been on a date before. "This...is a friendly date, correct?" She asked, hesitant in asking in case of hurting his feelings. She didn't really see him that way, and she wondered if he was only experimenting with her. Boys sometimes did that. She had never been on a date before, and she wondered what she should possibly do on such occasion.

Daren blushed also when she said it was better and suddenly heard the door open loudly, causing him to jump slightly and let go of Aria quickly. He whirled around and saw a mature, business-like woman that seemed a bit older than Aria walk in with some bags and set them down on a counter. He wondered if this was Aria's boss, but decided not to ask. He nervously ran a hand through his hair and shoved them in his pockets when she asked a question, her tone a little surprised.

Dante was quiet after Victoria answered him. Guys don't ask girls on friendly dates he thought to himself. He looked at Victoria and his speech stumbled, "Nev-never mind. Just forget that I asked anything." He turned his head to look at the ground. He saw her reaction towards the idea of the date, and it was not in his favor. Dante took the risk, but did not succeed. He thought that he had something going with her, but apparently it was nothing more than a friendship. Dante didn't really need that sort of thing at this moment anyhow. He needed to get back on his feet. A feeling of nausea came over Dante as he sat there. He didn't know what it was from either. Was it the alcohol from last night? Was it his hangover? Or was it from what just happened? He went to the kitchen to get a glass of water. He grabbed a cup from the strainer that was on the counter and put it under the running water. It filled up and he took a small drink. After turning off the water and placing the cup in the sink, he went and sat down at the kitchen table once again. Dante found himself wishing that Aria would call or text him, so he could just leave for a bit.

Victoria saw his reaction to her question and bit her lip in surprise. So he had meant it like that, and she ruined it. She hung her head in shame, calling herself stupid when he got up and went into the kitchen, leaving her by herself on the couch. She shook her head and decided to fix it, and went into the kitchen. She watched him get a glass of water and sit down at the table. She leaned against the door frame and sighed. She softly murmured, "Look Dante, I didn't mean to hurt you...I didn't think that you saw me..like that." She flushed and looked away. No guy had ever saw her like that, and she figured no one ever would.

He looked down at the newspaper that was on the table. He wasn't reading it, but just looking at the picture on the front page. He contently said in a quiet but loud enough to hear voice, "You didn't hurt me. It's nothing new. I just thought..." Dante paused. "I just thought that there was something there. I thought I would take the risk, and it was worth taking, even though it wasn't worth it. And apparently you thought wrong." His face was still. Not one facial expression had made it's way to the surface. Not one feeling had come across his heart. His will was too strong, along with his pride, to show that he was hurt. He was already at the bottom so it's wasn't like he fell a long distance.

Trisha eyed Daren curiously and then walked up to him and put an arm on his shoulder.

"Is this your boyfriend Ari?"

Aria instantly flushed red and quickly faced the counter. She texted Dante: She's back and she brought food ^_^.

"Sooo...what's you buy us to eat?" Aria asked while rifling through the bags.
"You never answered my question." Trisha said slyly tightening her hold on Daren.

Daren blushed worse than Aria did and wiggled out of the woman's grip. He didn't answer her either as he hid behind a row of shelves, getting lost in the Cd's.

Victoria bit her lip, almost drawing blood. His words hurt her, but she also tried to hide it. "I apologize greatly, Dante. We can go..if you want to." She turned away from him, not wanting to see his figure sitting at the table. He looked so lonely, and she felt bad. She went into the fridge and grabbed a glass of water, her throat dry.

Dante heard what she said. Really though. A pity date! Dante thought as he sat there. This made him more angry then happy about her agreeing to go. Dante never accepted anything out of pity. He never accepted anything from anyone when he needed it. He fought for things. He worked for things. But he couldn't believe she agreed to go because of the way Dante felt. "Victoria." Dante said as his phone vibrated across the table. He ignored it. "I hate to tell you this...but I won't accept a date out of pity. I'm sorry if it makes you hurt. But I rather stay hurt, then get a date because of being hurt...if that makes any sense." He checked his phone as Victoria got a glass of water. It was Aria. He went over to her. He lightly grasped her hand. He drew a long breath as he gazed into her eyes. Moving his eyes to her face and having to look slightly down, he told her "Listen. You don't have to apologize for telling me how you truly feel. I rather hear the truth then feel false hopes. I should be the one apologizing for putting you in this situation." He gave her a slight kiss on the cheek and told her, "I have to go now." He let go of her hand as he walked towards the door. He placed his phone on the coffee table in front of the couch. He stopped at the door and turned around. "If you need anything, then call or text Aria's phone." He opened the door. Before stepping out he asked her one more thing, "Do you need anything, or do you want to tell me something before I leave for a while." Dante waited in the doorway for her answer.
