Kedrick sighed, his fingers numb around the phone. "okay...thanks a lot Maria, I owe you one..." He said with a forced smile even though he knew she couldn't see it. "Good night..." He hung up the phone slowly walking again to the doorway of the kitchen. This time he didn't stop, walked straight though the massive front room and up the stairs. He turned down the hall and walked till her reached his room, the one at the very end of the long hallway. Gripping the doorknob, he turned it and pushed the door open, Hardly aware of his movements anymore. Numbly he flopped back on his bed, arms stretched above him, legs hanging off of the edge of the bed. Kedrick stared at the ceiling. He wanted to talk to her. He desperately wanted to talk to her, to see if she was okay. He listened hard. 'Was she crying?' he wondered 'should I be there?' with theses questions still in mind, Kedrick fell into an exhausted sleep.

"Anytime Kedrick," Maria said with a small smile, "Night." Her phone lit up once Kedrick had hung up, letting her know her call was over, sending her back to her cell phone's wallpaper. She sighed and placed her phone down somewhere. Maria was contemplating calling Arielle to see if she was alright, but she didn't want anything bad to happen if Arielle knew that Kedrick had called her for advice. With a small sigh, Maria quickly hopped off her bed and resumed what she was doing before the phone call, but still feeling worried for her friend.
I should go see if Kedrick is still down there, Arielle thought, I shouldn't have acted like that. Rising from her bed, she unlocked her door and headed down to the kitchen. She was tempted to call out Kedrick's name but didn't want to startle him.
She stopped when she noticed he was no longer there. She began looking around the lower level of the mansion and the den, still finding no sign of Kedrick. She then headed upstairs, thinking that he probably went to his room.
As she reached Kedrick's room, she stopped and noticed that he had fallen asleep. She didn't move from her spot from the doorway, but couldn't help but sigh quietly. She walked towards him slowly. She felt weird just watching him sleep, but he looked so peaceful. She bent down and kissed his forehead gently, then pulled up and gave a small smile to herself. "Good night, Kedrick. I'm really sorry."
She left his room as quietly as she could and headed back to hers. Changing into her pajamas, she put her clothes away and brushed her hair one last time. When she finished, she turned off her lights, laid in her bed, and closed her eyes, instantly falling asleep.
(Thought the kissing Kedrick goodnight was a cute thing >w<.)

Kedrick awoke the next morning, There was something he needed to do today, something special. He stood up, stretching his arms about his head. He got changed hurriedly, struggling out of yesterdays clothing, witch he had subsequently slept in, and into a clean T-shirt and jeans. He stepped downstairs, noting Arielle's absence and coming to the decisive thought that she was still upstairs, probably still asleep. He stepped into the massive foyer, walking over to a small end table, he picked up the telephone. Kedrick glanced that the newspaper that was lying next to the phone, dialing the number that was at the bottom of the article in question. After a brief conversation, he hung up the phone, walking into the kitchen and sitting down, a slight smile on his face.

Arielle felt so comfortable in her bed, lucky enough to have a dreamless sleep. When she first woke up, she thought it was still way early into the night and went back to sleep. Waking up again, she rose from her bed slowly and rubbed her eyes. The light from outside was trying to brighten up her room. With a sigh, she slowly got out of her bed and looked at the clock, her eyes widening when she saw the time. Oh no! I'm late for making breakfast! Arielle thought in a bit of panic as she hurried somewhat downstairs only to find Kedrick in the kitchen. She slowed herself down and walked in, moving over to the refrigerator uncomfortably. "G'morning Kedrick," Arielle said, not bothering to look at him, still feeling somewhat embarrassed from her reaction from the day before.
(Ooooohhhhh I can't wait >w<.)

Kedrick jumped to his feet when Arielle entered the room, looking like he had been waiting for her, yet was still suprised when she had entered. He smiled at her. "Morning." He said with a smile. He walked over to her shyly. " I uh...I put some toast in the toaster...if you want some..." he offed with a smiled. He turned quickly when the toaster poped, two slices of toast jumpping for the small metalic box. Kedrick walked over, putting the toasted bread on two different plates, offering one to her with a smile. He seemed...jumpy....not a nervous kind of jumpy, but an excited kind of jumpy. what ever it was had him in a good mood, a mood that was willing to forget, and forgive, last nights drama.

Arielle looked up at Kedrick slowly. He seemed so happy, so cheerful. It was almost as if whatever happened the night before never happened. She looked surprised, but then again, she didn't know what to expect from either of them. She gave a small smile and nodded to Kedrick. "Thanks for making the toast. Is there anything you want me to make you? Like eggs or something?" She looked at him curiously, trying to figure out what exactly was going on with Kedrick. At least he's happy though, Arielle thought with a smile, No use thinking about yesterday. Today's a new day.

Kedrick smiled at her, his good mood was infectious. It was already starting to rub off on her, Kedrick noted the with another smile. He told himself to clam down, that if he kept going like this she'd realize he had a secret, but he was to excited, to thrill at the prospect of his plan. Kedrick had know since the moment they had parted ways the night before that he needed to do something to make it up to her. Although he hadn't expected his the answer to his problem so soon, or so perfect. " Yeah, some eggs would be great." He said, sitting down and looking at his watch, He could feel himself vibrating.

She nodded and took out the eggs and sat them on the counter before opening one of the cupboards so that she could get a bowl out of them. "You seem to be in a cheery mood this morning," Arielle said with a small grin as she began cracking the eggs. She couldn't help but notice how full of life Kedrick was, it really was contagious. Her mind was no longer worrying about her attitude from last night. As she finished beating the eggs, she took out a pan and sat it on the stove before looking at him. "Is something special happening that has you in a good mood? Or did you sleep really well?"

Kedrick nodded as Arielle mentioned his good mood, It warmed his right up to see her smiling again, looking happy enough to joke with him. He looked up at her as she cracked the eggs into the pan. listening to her playful accusation "both," He lied with a smile. Honestly, Kedrick hadn't slept well the night before, he had been mulling over his plans for today, but why worry Arielle with trivial details. He stood up leaning over her shoulder to study the egg making process. 'may as well learn for a professional-in-denial while I'm here.' he though, his imagined title for Arielle referring to her unwillingness to admit that she was a good cook. Kedrick took a moment to glance up at the clock, knowing he'd have to allow for drive time and unexpected stops.

"That sounds good then," Arielle said with a small smile as she turned on the stove. She realized that she had forgotten to take out some butter to use for the pan so the eggs wouldn't stick. She turned and noticed that Kedrick had been standing right behind her. She couldn't help but be surprised and blush lightly before walking back to the fridge and pulling out the butter. She walked back over to the stove, slicing a small piece of butter and moved the pan around so that it would cover as much of the pan as possible. "Wh-Why are you standing so close?" Arielle asked nervously as she poured the beated egg yolk inside the pan and let it sit there for a few seconds as she returned the butter back into the fridge.
(My brain needs a power up @.@)

"Oh!" Kedrick said, stepping be with a slight smile. "Sorry, I...I wanted to see how you did it, after all...." he let his sentence hang, looking at her with a shy smile. He moved back to the kitchen table, sitting down in one of the tall-backed chairs. 'not long now...' he thought. 'after breakfast for sure...." Kedrick looked at the clock for the fifth time that morning, then, he let his eyes move back to Arielle, watching her as she made the eggs. He smiled, unable to imagine life without her. "How's it coming over there?" He asked her, the smile evident in his voice.

Arielle closed the refrigerator door and looked at Kedrick, returning a small smile. She took out a spatula and began stirring the egg yolk for a bit. "It's no problem at all, just surprised me is all." She felt more relaxed when he went to sit back down at the table and she could once again concentrate on cooking. It didn't take her long after stirring that she noticed that the egg yolks were finally turning into scrambled eggs.
She finished scrambling the eggs, just when Kedrick had asked her how it was going. She turned off the stove and smiled at Kedrick, "It's all done, you can come and eat now."
(Why does not responding in a few days seem like I haven't responded in months? XD.)

He smiled at her, " 'kay," He said. He picked the two toast plates up off of the table, Tapping the crumbs off of his, he walked over to retrieve a spatula from the bottom draw. " Here we go..." he said under his breath, setting the plates on the table and scooping the eggs on to them. Kedrick walked back over to the table, sitting down again, breathing in the smell of the freshly cooked eggs. " This smells great!" he said enthusiastically, smiling at her with that infectious, slightly lopsided smile of his. "Bon' apitie!" He said, picking up his fork and digging into the mound of scrambled eggs. Kedrick looked up at the clock again. He decided it was close enough. " Hey Arielle," He started, feeling fluttery with excitement. "After breakfast, I want you to get dressed in clothing you can go out in, I...I have somewhere I want to take you."

Grinning, Arielle took her plate of eggs and toast and walked over to sit with Kedrick. She nodded and started eating, thinking that she didn't do too badly on the eggs. It was missing that same taste it usually had when her grandfather made them and added fresh cute vegetables and different kinds of cheeses.
In the middle of a bite, she looked up when she heard her name. She listened to Kedrick and nodded, but couldn't help but smile. Smiling, she took a bite and swallowed. "Sure thing. I have a feeling it's a surprise, isn't it?"

Kedrick gave her a side-long glance, smirking mysteriously. "maybe...." He said, his face breaking into a grin, the sneaky smirk didn't do him much justice. He polished off the plate, practically inhaling it before standing up. Kedrick looked down at his clothes, realizing he hadn't dressed for the occasion. "I'll be right back, I probably ought to change myself." He said, and smiled at her one last time before stepping out of the room.
Kedrick headed up the stairs, ducking into his room. He struggled out of the T-shirt he had chosen earlier and into a white, button-down shirt. He fussed with the buttons for a moment, having to re-do it twice due to getting them crooked. He looked down at his jeans, deciding that it would be fine to wear them. A tie of course was not necessary, but he need to look nice. He poked his head out of the room, and into the hall wondering how long it would take Arielle to finish her breakfast, he knew he shouldn't hurry her but he was just far too excited.
