Kazin ducked, considering that he was swinging it across. As he ducked, he got into a position were he could easily do a sweeping kick if necessary. "Please sir, I beg you. We didn't mean to harm the bear. On the contrary, I actually like the bear a great deal and was a little sad to know that it had perished. Please take into account that we were all exhausted and we weren't entirely sure where we were." Kazin said between heavy breaths. "We needed the rest, and we had no idea what the bear was trying to relate. If you needed us to follow the bear, a note with instructions would have been satisfactory." Kazin did not want to engage the old man. He would be a very dangerous opponent considering ranks and age. Kazin would try to stick with all the basic maneuvers he could, and to avoid any injuries, whether it be them or the old man.

I'm a ******** the man looked at the Genin and there reactions to him attacking with the Axe, in truth he had only swung as a fraction of the speed that he was able to, making it relatively easy for the Genin to dodge the attack. A few moments later the Man let out a few coughs, and pated his chest with a fist; the Axe seeming to vanish into a cloud of smoke as he did that. "Alright, that should be fine" He said as though talking to someone other then the Genin; the man's voice was still Gruff, but it had lost its sonic Boom'esc volume.

That was it? No, this was a trick, it had to be... this didn't make sense for someone to attack then just stop. Not only was not the shinobi way, it was a way a quiter, someone who was a coward, a broken weapon. Then again, if this man was an Ex-ANBU member then he was already a broken weapon to the cloud. She had half a mind to finish what she started and remove this rogue ninja on behalf of the Cloud. For now, she would just stay hidden away, she felt this might be a trick of some type. The moment they tried to leave he would summon his axe again and then he would strike them down. Thats what she would do, that was how a killer would do it. She would wait concealed in the bushes until everyone else got then she would cover their escape with smoke pellets so that they would cover their tracks.
What was he up to, what was he trying to accomplish with that swing? It didn't make sense. She kept her kunai at ready with the explosion tag on it and readied some smoke pellets to help them out.

Kazin looked into the man's eyes. He was picking his actions apart like a buzzard on carcass. If there wasn't any other time that Kazin had been any more focused. Kazin never leaved his lowered position. He wanted to be at an advantageous location, just in case the old man were to get another urge to attack them. "A test?" Kazin asked with hope, but solidity as to not lose any psychological ground against the attacker. A fight was not only about the physical actions one took in battle, but also the effect he was having on his opponent. Thats all he could think of, besides the fact that they didn't follow the bear. That also didn't really seem like a good excuse for attacking them also. There was something not fitting into this situation. The man attacked once, but it was obviously slow enough for them to dodge, and he didn't have a second attack. If he truly meant to engage them, then he could have already done a considerable amount of damage to all of them. Kazin was observing where his comrades were located. He himself was the closest to the old man, which meant he would be in the most trouble if the old man were to attack. Kazin was still on edge, waiting for the old man to confirm his thoughts.

I'm a ********, a test" The massive man said nodding slightly to the Genin who was talking to him. "Chiyu already was here and told me to see how you would react to a stronger foe attacking you" He said nodding slightly. "And the Brutus is fine" He said clearly talking about the Bear that had been attacked before. "Chiyu Himself gave me the 'poison' jerky for the test, I Think his exact words where. 'I hope none of those Runts are dumb enough to eat s**t off the ground' Or something like that" He said shrugging slightly. "Sorry If i shocked you too much" He said looking down at the Genin in front of him.

Yuzuki listened to the man for a while, she let what he said roll around for a few minutes in her mind before she desided to come back down and join the group, the fact that he knew their sensei by name and quoted him with some alarming accuracy to what he would actually say, Yuzuki was comfortable enough to body flicker where she landed when she finished backflipping and walk beside the rest of her group. She still didn't trust this guy, but she had her items put away back into her pouch. Yuzuki placed a hand on her hip and looked up at the rugged man, so the bear actually was his pet... not that she really cared whether it was alive or dead, injured or okay. She wondered if Chiyu was still in the bushes watching their moves and if he was satisfied with how they performed. "So, where is he then, and was he following us the whole time?" Yuzuki doubted that he was at the village, he wouldn't have been able to gauge their abilities and teamworkings for himself otherwise. If he didn't take the time to study their action so that he knew where to improve upon them... then he was a poor leader and should be stripped of his jounin title.
Yuzuki wanted to get back now, unless this man had something else for them then she really didn't see much point in sticking around. Part of her didn't mind that this was a test, after all, it did show what needed to be improved upon, an obvious answer was her number and level of jutsu. Another was Mana's.... survival instincts. Kazin kept his head down and obeyed what he was told, and he seemed to be pretty responsive to the attack. Granted, knowing what they did about the man, standing in his way and continuing to do so might not have been the wisest choice of action. But... well, she was sure that he would learn that a little later on down the road when me met a tougher opponent face to face. "Well alright, a test is all fine and well... I suppose... but a test without knowing what we did wrong and what we did right is useless. Seeing as we know of your history... or at least what we were told- if its true- what should we work on, from your perspective?"

"Ah, I figured." Kazin said with a hint of relief in his voice. "Well, did we succeed?" Kazin was still concentrating on the old man's movements. He did loosen up a bit whenever he mentioned Chiyo-Sensei's name. Kazin was trying to also focus on his surroundings, keeping an eye out for his sensei. If this was a test, then he would surely be there. Kazin was being a little apprehensive, but it was better to be safe than sorry.

After mana heard it was chiyu who had gave them the jerky, he had wanted to punch chiyu right in the face. But seeing this was a test, Mana had to resist himself. "....test..." Mana let slipped out as he thought to himself.

I'm a ******** mountain man let out an earth shaking laugh. "As for if you Succeeded or failed; I don't know; I just did what Chiyu asked me too, not like I had anything better to do" He said shrugging slightly after his laugh was finished. He said in reply to what Kazin had asked him; in truth he didn't really know what the test was, he just had been asked to help; and he thought 'why not' so he had helped. "As for what you need to work on" He said bringing one of his massive paws up to his chin in thought for a moment. "Mana, you need to pay attention to your surroundings, That Jerky could have easily killed you and not just drained your chakra" He said nodding lightly. "Kazin you did fairly well you attempted to use negotiation other then combat, and Yuzuki' you need to keep your temper under check; or at least, be a bit more respectful to people who you know full well can kill you" He said before letting out a long laugh again.
The mans personality had almost completely changed, he must be a good actor.

...or he was bat-s**t crazy, either way Yuzuki cocked her head to the side and gave the huge man a rather odd look, something in between; 'I can't believe this,' and 'this old fart is close to being off his rocker.' 'What the hell is he talking about... I don't have a temper! I was just a little impatient because my arm was falling asleep holding that meat-head's luggage for him.' Yuzuki crossed her arms, mindful of her talons. Well, they did complete their mission so really they should report back to Chiyu... she just hoped when they left that this old man didn't suddenly want a hug or something... she wasn't a 'touchy-feely' person, she was much more of an 'ouchie-bleedy' personality. Regardless of her social graces or her tender feelings that she bore regularly, Yuzuki thought it would be best to leave now that the old man was finished what he was going to give them. She needed to get back to training while she still had some time. "Alright then, lets get going back, Doku-sensei is probably waiting for us and we need to shake him down for some training... that is unless Grandpaw is going to take over his training for a while. I doubt it though." Ugh! She didn't know what to think anymore, was he really an ex-ANBU? He was good, no doubt about it, but she didn't know what was bull and what was the truth about this guy anymore. She needed more power and for that she needed someone who was more powerful to train her, someone who could push her to the brink and then over the edge so that she learned things faster.'Hey, aren't you that girl who's little sister passed her in the academy? What a loser!' 'Did you hear? Izumi-chan passed her chunin exams her first run! I wonder what we should do to celebrate?' 'I feel sorry for my second youngest daughter... I mean, she just doesn't have that natural skill that her sister has...' Yuzuki pulled her gaze from the ground, the atmosphere around her changed drastically. "I'm heading back." She informed the group with a soft hiss in her voice. She used her chakra to get up into the tree. Whether they followed her right away or not, she didn't care. She was tired of being left behind by her family, the Chunin exams were in another year and she needed to build up her abilites and her chakra control.

Mana heard what the old man had told him, he knew it was yuzuki fault since she was the one who founded the basket, he knew she could gotten him killed. "Nice your such a good leader, you kinda have gotten me killed..." Mana said with a nasty tone, as they were heading back to their village.

Kazin watched as Yuzuki turned to leave. He was a little aggravated at her for being so impatient. He wanted to make sure their mission here was finished. If Chiyo-Sensei just wanted to deliver these packages, then he could've delivered them himself whenever he set up this mission for them. Also, Kazin didn't like how she was wanting to leave by herself. They were a squad, therefore they needed to stay together when traveling long distances. "Well, Sensei, what is our next step? Surely these packages weren't the only thing we were here for." Kazin asked the old man. "If he wanted to deliver the packages, he could have done it himself whenever he gave you the meat. Also, I'm glad the bear's alive. I was starting to warm up to him." Kazin was relaxing now. After listening to the old man, and after the sudden expression change, Kazin believed the old man. Kazin also felt a little accomplished with what the old man had said. He truly felt that negotiating was usually better than a conflict, so that's what he was striving for. Kazin was still looking for hes sensei. He almost figured that he was around there somewhere, watching from afar. "Yuzuki, wait up. We need to travel together." Kazin directed towards Yuzuki, hopeful to calm her a little.

I'm a ******** Man nodded slightly. "Let them Go, I'm sure they want to talk to Chiyu, about what the mission was all about" He said turning and walking back into the house; leaving the door open for Kazin. "Well If you want, I can Give you some training; you wont get to train with Chiyu before your next mission like the other's, But I think it will be worth it for you" He said looking back over his shoulder at the Boy. "So what do you say, Train here; or with the others in the cloud?"

Kazin was completely flabbergasted. This was an opportunity that he couldn't pass up. Training from an Ex-Anbu would be superior to his normal dummy training. "I would be honored to train under you. As long as it's alright with Chiyo-Sensei." Kazin replied eagerly. "Mana, would you relate to Chiyo-Sensei that I will be training under...actually I never got your name?" Kazin felt a little ashamed. He had never asked the man his name. It was very impolite of him not to ask, and he was a little ashamed that he had slipped up on his manners. Kazin bowed to show his apology.

Brengen
I'm a ******** Can call me Brengen" He said simply as he continued to look over his shoulder at the Genin. "Chiyu said if there was a Genin who didn't bother me too much I was allowed to Train them" He said nodding slightly. "well I can tell you now, this training is in no way going to be a walk through the Park, you understand?" He asked looking at the Genin who had accepted the offer to be trained. "All the little spats you have had before won't even be a small section of this, understand?"
