Rhea nodded and turned to Earendil. "If you would care to do the honours," she said seriously.
Earendil nodded and dropped his pack. "Lin," he murmured, "are you coming with me? I don't know how long I'll be ..." He reached down and pulled his stones from his boot again. He was reluctant to use the magic again after two days of already having used it so much, but there really wasn't much choice. Rhea could use the magic that other people could, but she couldn't mimic the magic of items.

"I'll come along," Lin replied, "Will you be alright?"
She wasn't sure how magical objects worked and was watching him to see if he was tired at all. Magical objects (minus potions and possessed swords) were things that she only heard about.

Earendil sighed and nodded. "I'll be fine, I'll just be very tired by the time we get back." He smiled faintly. "If I sleep for a week full, don't be surprised. Anyways. Let's go. Finding them sooner is better than later."
And leaving his pack in the sand, he started off towards the jungle once more, stones in hand.
"Be careful!" Rhea called after them.

"We will!" Lin called back as she hurried to follow Earendil.
She did hope Earendil would be alright, it had been a long two days already. Hopefully they won't be gone for so long.

Unfortunately, Earendil realized far too late that he ought to have taken his bag with him. He didn't think that Kelirahc and Leyenda would be so far from the beach, but after a full day of traveling, they still hadn't found the two, and the elfstones were pointing still further into the jungle.
"I ought to have given them to Rhea to use," he muttered, "though for that matter I could have simply asked if she had her own that would be any good."

Lin hadn't put down her bag at all, so she still had things inside the bag that they could use, but even then that was stretching her supplies a bit thin. It was a good thing that oceans were not salty here.
"Well too late for that," Lin replied, "It certainly explains why they haven't been back for a while."
She hoped they weren't going to interrupt anything.

"It does," Earendil sighed. "I just hope they're not off flying somewhere ... though the stones do seem to be pointing in the same direction all the time, though where that is I don't know. I haven't been to this area at all yet."
They were due north of the beach, and heading still further north.
He looked down at Lin. "Any ideas?"

"No....." Lin admitted, "I mean, I hate to say this but there's a really good chance they probably flew."
It sounded like something the two would do together, especially since the two were probably trying to bond or something of the like. Who knew, maybe Kelirahc was showing Leyenda something cool.

Earendil closed his eyes and sighed again. "Well, all we can do is keep going," he murmured, "and see if we catch up with them somewhere. I swear I'm going to sleep for a week when we get back."
But for the moment, all he could do was check their direction again. Holding the elfstones high, he used their magic to seek out the two they were searching for. As always, the stones were pointing due north.
"Eventually," Earendil muttered, "we're going to hit the other side of the island."

"Not unless we find them first," Lin replied, "Or if we run into something blocking our way."
Which was also possible since they hadn't been this deep into the island at all. With all the trees there it was very difficult to see where they were going.

No sooner were the words out of Lin's mouth than the trees thinned out and opened up into an enormous clearing ... of sorts. Earendil stopped dead in his tracks and stared upwards at the mountain in front of them. Except that it wasn't a mountain ... it was the volcano that he had been told about ...
"Kelleshahn," he breathed, recalling the name that had been given it. "Why would they be here?"

Lin stared up at the volcano and just stared more. She didn't like things that could potentially explode with hot things.
"I have no idea," Lin murmured, "I really hope they aren't too close to it."
Or in it, though she doubt that would be the case.

Earendil used the stones one last time, hoping that he and Lin were in the wrong place, that the others were simply on the other side of it ... but the light simply pointed directly at the volcano.
"That's ... where they are," he said, his voice faltering as he lowered the stones once more. He took a deep breath. "Only one thing to do then ..."
He cupped his hands around his mouth and shouted at the top of his lungs: "LEYENDA! KELIRAHC! WHERE ARE YOU?"

Well if they didn't hear that she thought there was something really wrong. She tilted her head a bit thinking Earendil had a good set of lungs on him, and while she would have yelled too, she was standing beside someone who had really good hearing.
"Think they heard that?" she grinned.

Earendil looked down at Lin, his eyes red-rimmed from exhaustion. "If not," he quipped, "I'm going to fall asleep right here and right now and you get to take care of me until I wake up again."
He looked around, searching for the two with his eyes. He was about to call again when Leyenda's head popped into view about a quarter of the way up the volcano.
"Hey!" she called out to them. "Give us a moment and we'll be right there!"
And with that, she vanished once more.
