{Queen of the Spanish Main.}
[Traverse Town : Second District Cafe]

Nomaa's gaze shifted as Soryuju said that there was a port of some kind -- turning from gentle curiosity to a contemplative ponder. However, as he said that it was for something called a 'Gummi Ship' the curiosity returned to her features. It was clear that she was foreign to the concept of a "gummi" ship, though thankfully that seemed to show. He went on to explain more about what the ships were used for, though she had to fight hard to keep her look even and calm. His explanation of visit other worlds helped, in some small way, explain why she was here to begin with. It also explained why she got strange vibes from the majority of the group -- they were also from other worlds.

"In a way. My ship and crew were attacked by these creatures from the shadows off the shore of a new island. I was just beginning the fight when my world went dark and I woke up here. If I understand you correctly, there is a way to return to Port Royal, just like all of you can return to other worlds," she said, clearly piecing things together as she went. Her eyes travelled to the newcomer to their table, who sat down and introduced himself and where he was from. Again, it was some distant place she had never heard of -- another world, no doubt.

Zigmund

[Castle Oblivion : Commons Area ]

To Zigmund, it was rather sad how uninteresting a bunch of sociopathic killers actually were if you grouped them in a room. Sure,it was funny to watch the insanity, but it just gets so predictable after a while. A backstabbing here, a stalker there, and large egos colliding at light speed. It was lab politics all over again, and quite frankly one life of that was enough.

It was around the time of that thought that Vereor popped back from the jewelers (or wherever he went to get those made), and tossed him his ring. It was of excellent quality, unnaturally perfect and gleaming like the metals he could so easily bend to his will. Putting it on his uncovered hand, Zigmund turned back to Vereor.

"Sure" he said to their leader "I haven't been doing much else anyway"

Character(s): Maximillion Alexander Faust II [Faust].
Status: Hungry, with a growing wariness at the unfolding events.
Location: Traverse Town: Second District - Hotel Cafe.

---

In an way, Faust was relieved the the girl Colorai was gone-- no, I am relieved. Suppressing the twinge of regret that arose, he quickly returned back to his meal, hoping it would distract him from the completely unsurprising sense of regret that soon followed the twinge, and found himself unsuccessful. Stop this-- she's back with her guardian, and she doesn't really matter in the overall importance of other events. Shaking his head slightly to rid himself of the uncomfortable thoughts, he noticed suddenly, out of the corner of his eye, the unusual girl, Youni, staring at him fixedly.

Raising his head to look her in the eyes, he was once again perturbed to-- see nothing looking back at me-- what is wrong with this girl? Almost everyone he had ever known had something looking back at Faust out of their eyes, whether it was anger at being caught, hate for his profession, but never... nothing. The only people he had ever known that stared back at him with the look the girl was giving him, as far as Faust was concerned, weren't people-- they don't get killed, they're 'put down'. But it was painfully obvious that Youni wasn't one of those people-- perhaps... and it bothered Faust that he was unable to place it. The girl was looking at him like-- like... an interesting experiment, or an insect doing something unexpected-- and Faust was unable to repress a momentary narrowing of his eyes in response to the unnerving stare. The girl made him uncomfortable, and, until he had found out exactly what it was, he wasn't going to change his opinion.

"Youni has finished the meal, Aerith." Glancing down at their plates, he quickly became aware that he had barely touched his own food, whilst they had both finished, and turned back to it, half-heartedly eating a now-limpid-looking French fry. Unused to eating when it wasn't necessary, he found it unusual and uncomfortable to be eating... socially... but had successfully hid it from the small group up until now. Looking up suddenly at the sound of Aerith's voice, he was met with another warm smile, which only served to induce more unwelcome feelings of discomfort. "You should learn to relax sometimes, Faust." Giving her an impassive look in response, he realized she was right... as usual. Consciously attempting to relax his body, he was genuinely surprised-- although it never showed-- to be rewarded with an immense feeling of relief from his shoulder area-- I've been tense this whole time-- it must have been painfully obvious. In truth it had been a barely-noticeable motion, but Faust grimaced inwardly to himself as Aerith turned to Youni with-- Faust noticed with a forced neutrality-- another warm smile.

"Very good, Youni-- when Mister Faust is done, we'll all be finished and we can go see Merlin, okay? Realizing that they were about to part ways, he felt another surprising-- and unwelcome-- twinge of regret. I shouldn't keep them from their business. Pushing his barely-touched meal to the side of the table, he nodded at them. "I'm finished, in any case-- need an escort?" The invitation surprised him most of all, but, having put forward the offer, he could do nothing but wait-- with unaccustomed apprehension-- for an answer. Realizing he was also somewhat irritated by the 'Mister' honorific, he fixed Aerith with a forcedly-neutral look, although he was aware of a slight, inexplicable nervousness pulsating under the surface-- he hadn't said what he was about to say to Aerith for many years-- "And I'm not a 'Mister'-- it's Faust... or Max, whichever you prefer."

"Why does fortune seem to strike the most kindhearted people? Is everything just pre-ordained?"

.:[Traverse Town: First District]:.

Elde saw that they were coming up on the café, and slowed his walking pace, eventually stopping a good distance away from the restaurant. He took a look to either side of him as if he was checking to see if anyone was listening, then moved in close to Alex to whisper in her ear. “Not very” he said softly, backing away from her and shrugging with a smirk of indifference on, in response to her question about devotion.

“You see I’m a pretty simple guy, I don’t really need much, just something to occupy me, new experiences preferably I’m not really driven by anything and don’t have much of a reason for saying I’ll help Sory except for… well at least I didn’t used to have much motivation but uh…” he realized he was divulging a little too much and quickly moved on. He reached into his pocket and pulled out the thick shiny golden coin he had been using previously. “This, it pretty much makes up my mind for me… for example!” he swiftly flicked the coin into the air and caught it in his opposite hand, moving his fingers to gaze at what was face up. “Huh, apparently sticking close to you is a good idea Alex” he said smoothly as he placed the coin away and winked at her again. He hadn’t really flipped on anything but she would never know. “Guess I better listen to what it says as usual” with that he gave her a light punch on the arm and turned to enter the restaurant again, motioning with his hand for her to follow.

Admittedly he liked Alex, and he hoped that fate did have it that they had more chill time together. She had successfully moved his mind away from the craziness that had happened to him in the alley and he was pretty grateful. He couldn’t really do anything about his ‘heart’ right now so he figured he might as well go back to things as normal, fortune is untamable after all.

When he moved back into the café’ he saw that most were still around with the addition of a few others he didn’t know. He recognized one white clad blonde though. Rufus Shinra had been chatting with some other customers in the restaurant and nodded smiling suavely at them before proceeding towards the table Elde was now sliding back into, faintly waving at any newcomers to the table. He hoped he hadn’t looked too strange when he had abruptly left. He heard Nemaa’s words about a ‘port’ and Sory’s reply, and it was at about that time that Rufus strolled up to the table.

.:[Rufus]:.
.:[Second District Cafe']:. ((People who read the first Rufus post get a gold star for effort! xD))

The feedback from the random customers had been positive, he didn’t really expect anything less but he smiled anyway and wished them well. This conversation had given him enough time to analyze the group that he was focused on, which now allowed to come in at an opportune moment, when the woman dressed in a sort of swashbuckler uniform questioned about a port and a way back to Port Royal.

“Indeed there is a way to return, or venture to worlds” he said smoothly sliding up to the table standing with a somehow straight but relaxed posture, looking down at the woman who was sitting near him as he said this. “Oh and those creatures would be the heartless, they can be rather troublesome, and I do hope your crew is alright” as much as Rufus could care about a random group of strangers anyway… which was not at all. “However, if you do need to return to your world I may be able to help you…” he then turned his head to speak to everyone at the set of tables, brushing his large bang of hair aside slightly “I may also be able to aid others who require some means of transportation?”

No Rufus didn’t think they were stupid, but it would be silly of him not to see how easily swayed these people could be. He was very well ready for the inevitable question of “What’s the catch?” he didn’t know why he didn’t just tell people what it was… he seemed to get asked that sort of question a lot.

Solaris

Sorry...
...I'll be taking my leave now.

{Traverse Town : First District}

Solaris stared in awe as Merlin finished his task, restoring the First District to it's former state. It was truly incredible. And then he was being offered a chance to come with the mage. He had never thought that he was going to get a chance to actually talk with him. How could he refuse? He thought briefly of how it may have been a trap, but the mage could easily overpower him, so it didn't really matter.

"I'd be more than happy to go with you Master Merlin. But I don't think that I have any magical abilities that are worth mentioning." He said, glancing down at his feet.

Elde would not see it, but the closeness with which he was as he whispered in her ear froze Alex to the spot. No one dared come close to her back home, for she was the "Girl with the Black Curse" and seen as something awful. Why, she had never been able to figure out, but it helped her alienate herself from people, something she deemed necessary. If there was no one around to worry about or get hurt, the darkness festering in her heart couldn't grow out of that worry or pain. Or so she kept telling herself.

Even in Traverse Town, Alex kept her distance from people. She'd seen Soryuju and some of the other around town, but it was always from a distance roof top. So, now, why was she giving her alegiance to Soryuju, and going after Elde? Alex didn't know, and that kind of scared her. But that was for another day, when she could disappear off to fight the Heartless.

Alex scowled at him playfully when he punched her arm, and followed him into the cafe. Seems I'm not the only one who keeps something hidden... But he seems truthful enough to me, and hell, he keeps up with that winking and smooth talking, he might find me swooning all over him--- Ah, as if! she thought, chuckling lightly to herself and finding her way back to her chair.

Transports huh? Guess they weren't planning on staying in Traverse Town for much longer. Alex was quite fine with that and listened to the man who had walked up (Rufus). Just so long as we don't go to Patr...

| I simply hunt Heartless, nothing more. If you need that, then I am your girl.|

Rufus' appearance, confirming that there were ways to get off this world and visit others, intrigued her, her gaze lingering on him as he offered his services to her and the rest of the group after explaining more about the creatures that attacked her ship and crew. So, they were called Heartless -- sounded like something from another world. In all her travels, she never heard of the likes of those creatures before. Her face looked pensive, as if she were mulling over his offer and assessing if she could trust him or not.

"And I suppose you'll want something in return, eh mate? What'd you say your name was again?" Her lips parted in a soft grin, head tilting to the side in gentle curiosity as she brought the mug to her lips, draining the last bit of ale from the bottom of the cup. She got the vibe from the rest of the table that they were thinking the same thing - after all, nothing was free in this day and age. However, she was almost at the point that she would do anything to get off this godforsaken spit of land...

“Oh! I’m terribly sorry, my name is Rufus Shinra and I am the owner of this establishment…” since there were so many people he gave a slight nod of his head as if to bow rather than shaking everyone’s hand

“You are right however, very sharp of you” he said with a sly smile to the pirate lady “I am requesting something in return… however it may be best not to discuss these requirements out in the public area of my restaurant.” Rufus motioned to all of the nearby travelers with one arm towards an entrance to a back room near where he had exited the elevator earlier, which judging by the ornate door lead to a locked conference room. “If any of you think you have the abilities to aid me I welcome you to join us” he was careful to speak only to the group of travelers sitting at the assortment of tables and no random bystander.

“Even if some of you are not interested in the provision of travel I have valuable information about the heartless that might greatly assist you in other endeavors” with that he turned smoothly on his heel his black shoes barely making a sound as he turned, his long bangs bounced slightly in front of his face before he elegantly moved with his hands at his sides towards the room hoping the others would follow. He seemed to have piqued at least some interest and did not think he seemed unreasonable if a bit out of the blue.

He reached the fine wooden door and withdrew a key card from his pocket placing it in front of a metal device to the right side of the door where a series of bright lines of light traced across it's surface before turning off. He then opened the door and went inside. There were seats around a very long wooden table and the floor was a warm crimson color, a large blank white presentation screen resided at the front of the room. It was undoubtedly an area for doing business. He stalked to the front of the room and patiently waited for his guests to enter the now unlocked door.

{[Elde]}

"Why does fortune seem to strike the most kindhearted people? Is everything just pre-ordained?"

.:[Traverse Town: First District]:.

Elde had barely sat down when Rufus had come out making propositions. That was a little odd to him. For a long time Rufus hadn’t been in a position to make any offers, but this sudden offer, and subsequent request, must have meant that his company was back on its feet after all these years. He paid no heed to what he was saying for a moment and it didn’t even hit him until a moment later. He had been fiddling with a straw, swirling the ice cubes in his water, then stopped his eye widening slightly before returning to normal as an idea occurred to him.

Huh… well if I need to get outta here and do some soul searching… or whatever… this seems like an almost too perfect opportunity.

Elde smirked at his luck once again. He didn’t know if he was ready to abandon the world that, really, was the only home he had to go off on some random quest that a random shady guy had told him he needed to go off on. However it couldn’t hurt to see what Rufus had to offer.

With that he pushed himself away from the table and stood again, looking at Nomaa and saying coyly “I will if you will?” with that he walked over and entered the private room and took one of the seats farthest away from the projecting screen at the back of the room, closest to the door. He nodded faintly to Rufus on the other side of the room as he sat down, folding his hands together and placing them over his mouth as he pondered the situation.

{Queen of the Spanish Main.}
[Traverse Town : Second District Cafe]

"Fine pub you have here," she said in response as he introduced himself as the owner, raising her now empty mug in a sort of greeting. There might have been a hint of sarcasm behind it all, but as soon as it might have come to the forefront of attention, it was gone again, replaced by the silence of a woman listening intently to the proposition being laid out on the table before her. His sly smile was not missed as he attempted to move them from the public area of the bar to a more 'private' location. If this was something that he didn't want to discuss in public then it might not be something she wanted to get herself involved in. Afterall, trouble had no problem finding her when she was on her own, not getting mixed into the affairs of a town full of strangers, marooned from their own worlds with few hopes of ever returning.

Their host turned, making his way through the room to a wooden door on the other side. She knew that he expected them to follow him, lured by the interest he created in traveling to another world and battling these 'heartless' that were wreaking so much havoc. He was good, no doubt about it -- he even had Nomaa thinking that she was risking relatively little in accepting the help he offered. Elde stood from the table, looking straight at her and asked if she would go into this business proposition. Tossing her windswept black hair over her shoulders, she stood at well, seeming to come to a silent resolution. After all, there was no harm in just listening to whatever it was he had to say. Not to mention, the moment he attempted anything shady, he would meet the sharp end of her cutlass before he could blink.

"Seems like there can be no harm in just listening, right loves," she said, seeing Elde move towards the room as her eyes turned to the rest of the group. She could not know exactly what they were thinking, but could tell that many of them were wrestling with the same question of trust that she had been working with for quite some time now. As independent as she was, she couldn't captain anything without a crew, and it seemed foolish to move into something like this without others at your side, even if you didn't fully trust them yet either. She knew that these people, including herself, were working towards a relatively common goal.

Turning in her heel, the pirate captain made her way through the patrons of the pub to the door that Rufus had opened, looking around quickly as she stepped into the room to take in her surroundings. She smiled as she saw Rufus standing in front of a large white sail, rows of seats begging for warmth from the flies he enticed into his web. While she wanted to sit in the back, closest to the exit, she moved further into the room, taking a seat about halfway between the door and their presenter.

Observation. If there was one thing that could possibly be described as something important to this ‘girl’, if you could call her that- it was Observation. It was how she learned, how she adapted, and changed, and transformed into the presentable human being she was trying to pass off as.
Everything she learned – she learned by watching. And that meant everything, but just a superficial gleaning of visual information- but taking time to analyze one detail to another, hardly blinking so nothing was missed. As the information came in, she contemplated whatever came to mind- one topic at a time.

From the spiky tips of Fausts hair, to way his mouth seemed to twitch as his mind did its own mental somersaults. She noticed how he wore earrings, like a female? They each had a small chain with a spike pointing directly downwards. His attire seemed color coded to his own natural coloring, grays.

If you ignored this faded leather gloves, the belts, and the boots..which of course she did NOT.
After compiling that visual data Youni theorized he was a traveler who cross not just any kind of terrain, but difficult kinds, rocky, perhaps dangerous, so he needed a particular kind of attire that was both flexible and durable, with the versatility to be cooler when needed, or warmer with extra layering.

He traveled alone.

Why else would he be geared up to handle many conditions, and minimize the amount of adjusting? If he could simply buy extra gear when needed perhaps he’d look different- but this hinted his visits to civilization where farther apart then the regular traveler. He also wore a lot of what he basically carried with him. ‘Traveling light’, that’s what Leon called it. He did the same- ‘because you can afford to be slugging a heavy pack when those heartless come after you.’ He said.

Did this Faust run from the heartless? Is that why he carried such a big sword? Was that why he was hurt when he first arrived?

Why does he narrowed his eyes as she watched him?

Why did he look so uncomfortable when Aerith spoke and smiled- normally people couldn’t help but smile back and ‘feel cheered up’ when they spoke with her, and people described it. Youni didn’t understand this sensation- but she knew it was in the positive spectrum of reactions, and considered normal. So was there something wrong with Faust?

‘ Perhaps he is ill? Physically? Mentally? Perhaps he doesn’t like women? Why should he not like Aeirht regardless, everyone else seems to.’

He looked tense, his shoulders raised and limbs tightened as if he could spring into action at any moment. It was only when Aerith pointed this out did Faust seemed to calm down- least until Aerith said they’d be leaving once finished.
‘Merlin. He’s returned then? He shall want to see how Youni has improved.’ She thought to herself.
Leon was the stand in for Youni’s offensive and supportive training using her pictomancy, Merlin felt it was the key to her development and it was an effective line of defense against heartless if they tried to infiltrate.
It was then Faust once again peeked her curiosity by offered to be an…. Escort?
Where they in danger? Was the path to the wizard too treacherous now? Have the Heartl-

“-valuable information about the heartless that might greatly assist you in other endeavors”

Youni’s attention snapped towards the man, who claimed he owned this building, dresses his expensive finery- walk across the room and open a door adjacent to them. Others followed him inside, once of which... was the ‘funny’ guy she saw through the walls. The one who’s heart had screamed before- demanding her attention.
She craned her neck, and tilted to one side so she could see around Faust's imposing figure and watched the people follow the suit inside.

[[Xogame]]

<"Emotions are the true source of all evil.">

[Traverse Town: Second District]

Xogame sat silently on a bench, his eye fixed on his pocketwatch. Time was ticking by, and still he'd made no progress. He still was stuck on this insignifigant little world. So why didn't he just leave? There were countless worlds, why stay here? He didn't know, but for one reason or another he just couldn't bring himself to leave. It was like gravity, he felt that, no matter how hard he tried, this world would draw him back. It angered him, that was the best term he could use. He wanted to erase this world, and all the rest that were unfit to be. If a world couldn't survive without a heart, then it didn't deserve to exist.

"... we've no need for transport, I know I have my own ship, and I believe madame Suzuran has one as well," Soryuju responded, watching Rufus warily. However, information on the Heartless... that might be of interest. That was, after all, the entire reason for him leaving Tsuvryen- to discover their source and eradicate it. He took a final bite of his sub, chewing it slowly in thought as some of the others stood up to follow the businessman.

I need that information...

"I suppose I need to hear what he has to say," Soryuju muttered to those still at the table, lightly excusing himself. He glanced to Suzuran and Souzourou with an apologetic look. "I should return shortly. I doubt the conversation will last very long at all."

Taking his spear and reattaching it to the latch on his back, the Dragon Knight walked toward the door with the others. However, before crossing into the threshold, he looked within, locking eyes with Rufus. "I do not seek transport, but at what cost or catch comes the information?"

"I think I prefer Max," Aerith replied lightly, smiling as she stood up, motioning for Youni to do so as well. "And we won't need an escort, but if you'd like to make sure we make it there safely, I wouldn't be opposed."

With that reassuring smile, Aerith began to pay for the bill (all of it, they would not, and she wasn't about to let there be any discussion on the matter), waiting for his response. "We do have to go through the Third District, but we do it rather often anyway, so it shouldn't be too much trouble. You're welcome to come along regardless."
