Kai laughed at Rudolf and shook his head. He raced off, jumping over the bushes and swatted his paw at the leaves to get them out of his way.
"Keep on the look out?" Kai repeated, frowning. "What else could be out here anyways? The bears are hibernating and we're out in the middle of no where...."
He shivered and glanced at Ivan. "Well Toto, I have feeling we aren't in Kansas anymore..."
Atreyu nodded at Ivan, very glad to hear that.
"A female? I hope she's alright if she's out here alone.."
He struggled over a root and growled at it the moment he was over. Beginning to look around, he realized he had forgotten something.
Oh and be on the look out for a cave with red soil near it... that is where we are heading." He lowered his voice and glanced to the side, noticing the bushes shifting slightly. He bristled somewhat but sighed in relief as it was only the wind. He looked up into the sky. "It's starting to get dark... I hope none of you are afraid of the dark." He teased, smiling reassuringly at the knights before continuing on, ducking under a fallen tree.

Roland nodded. "Will do." He said looking around. He felt the temperature drop slightly and shivered. "It's going to be cold tonight." He commented. He watched a bush move with the slight wind as he continued walking. He did a slow scan of the area looking for a cave but saw nothing.
Rudolf looked at Kai and shook his head. Why was he racing off like that. He froze momentarily when Kai mentioned bears then continued on. "Afraid not I." He said with a nervous laugh. This would be one of the first times he was out in the woods at night. He jumped over the tree that Atreyu ducked under. He continued walking as he looked around and missed the slight dip in the path. He fell down when he reached it with a small yelp.

"Dark? Good thing Aria isn't here then. She's terrified of it." Garaden skipped over to Rudolf. "You okay?" He laughed. "I think we need to worry about dips in the road more than the dark. Mud, puddles, divets. We're catching everything that we can fall into."
Ivan chuckled at Kai. "And we don't even have Dorothy anymore to heel-tap us back home later." He stopped short, lifting his head and sniffing the air. He trotted around, smelling this and that. "Her scent is here too. I wonder if she's nearby, it's a relativly fresh scent. Unfortunatly, so is one of the unfamiliar scents." He turned back, catching up quickly. "Lets keep moving."

"Oh drat... we're going to have to take the long way home I guess. Man, Nimue sucks." Kai paused and nodded in agreement with Garaden. "holes and puddles are our greatest enemy." He laughed and trotted over to the two in case he could help Rudolf out.
Atreyu shivered as well and took a quick sniff at the cold air.
"Yeah... this make me really miss those nice warm summer nights." He heard Ivan and began to sniff the air. He could make out the scents now and totted lightly, not wanting to announce his presence. He scanned the bushes around them and then looked ahead. "She must be just up ahead then...I wonder if she, whoever this scent belongs to that you know, isn't lost out here."

Roland sniffed the air and wondered who the wolf was that was up ahead. He looked back at Rudolf's yelp and shook his head. "Watch where you're going." He said looking forward. He walked forward carefully watching the ground to make sure there was nothing there to trip him.
Rudolf looked up at Garaden and Kai. "Okay be I." He said standing up, "Endless kill I return harm." He took Roland's advice and watched where he was going. He was passing a small tree when something off the path caught his eye. He looked at the group and then off the path. He shrugged and walked into the trees. He took several steps before finding a tree with a cloth tied to it. The cloth blowing in the wind was what had caught his attention. He wondered why there was a cloth here.

Garaden nodded, then chuckled. "Blair told me that same thing. Maybe we should stick together to keep ourselves out of trouble." He turned his head, watching Rudolf walk off. "Hey! What did I just say?" He barked with a laugh, trotting after him. He tilted his head at the cloth, then at rudolf. "How'd that get out here?"
Ivan flicked his tail. "I don't know. If I recall, she said something about always being outdoors. Maybe I should try to find her just in case. I want to find out what that other scent is anyway." He smirked slightly. "At least, I think I do."

Kai watched everyone taking in their surroundings and he slipped into the shadows, using his ability. It was easier the darker it was beginning to get and he jumped from shadow to shadow, ahead of them a few steps and looked around. Nothing was out of place and he wasn't getting the feeling that he should abandon ship. For now, he hoped, everything was just peachy. He waited in the shadows for everyone to catch up and stepped out to be visible, beside Rudolf and Garaden.
"I know I want to see what the other scents are but as the old saying goes, 'curiousity killed the cat'." Atreyu chuckled and jumped over a large puddle in the road. "Watch out for the puddle. I don't know how deep it is."

Roland looked at the puddle Atreyu was talking about. He figured he could jump it easily. He took a couple steps back then ran forward jumping over the puddle. He just noticed that Rudolf, Garaden, and Kai had disappeared. "Where did the others go to?" He asked.
Rudolf looked over at Garaden and smiled sheepishly. "Sorry." He said looking at the cloth, "I not know. Reminds of me someone." He jumped when Kai suddenly appeared next to them. "Where come you from!?" He cried trying to slow his heart.
A pair of eyes watched Rudolf, Garden, and Kai from the shadows. The eyes were narrowed and wary of these intruders.

Nodding, Ivan frowned at yet another jumping puddle. Sighing, he padded to the end of it, coming out the other side with a layer of mud on his paws. Wiping them off on a tree, he turned to Roland, then quickly scanned the path. "Garaden!" He yelled.
Giving Rudolf a playful nudge, Garaden leaned forward to sniff at the cloth. He didn't see Kai, but he still jumped when Rudolf did. "You know better Kai!" He yipped, swatting at Kai's leg. Hearing Ivan yell his name, he instinctivly tucked his tail and lowered his head slightly. "What?!" He whined back.

Atreyu had turned his full attention to the forest. It didn't help his nerves that it was getting dark and even for wolves, they would have limited vision. He paused when he heard Roland asking about Garaden, Rudolf and Kai and he turned to look at him.
"What are you talking about? They were right be-" He paused when he noticed there was a good distance. "We can't get seperated out here!" He called back to them.
"I'm a ghost...didn't you know that? I can disappear and reappear at will." Kai gave Rudolf a grin and patted him on the back. "Sorry if I scared ya..." He heard Atreyu calling out to them and he groaned. "Yeah, yeah, yeah... we're coming."

Roland shook his head. "Figures they would be the ones to get separated from us." He said sitting down. He would wait for them to catch up.
Rudolf looked at Kai in shock. "Really?! Ghost you?!" He asked, "Okay be it." He looked over in the direction that Atreyu and the others were. before looking at Garaden. "Anything smell?" He asked stepping towards the cloth. He sniffed it and stepped back. "Leave we now." He said. He recognized the scent and this wolf was not one to deal with in their territory. He now knew why the cloth was here.
The eyes followed Rudolf as he began to walk away. The eyes recognized him and only him. They must be here to steal my treasure! The moonlit thought. That was unacceptable! "Yes leave now and stay away from my treasure!" A low and sultry voice said from the shadows.

Ivan sighed. "You know 'what!' Come on back here." He called back, his tail twitching irritably.
Garaden frowned. "I guess we did wander a bit." He said. He turned and raised his eyes to Rudolf and he trotted after the knight. "Huh? You know who's it is?" He turned at the sound of a new voice. "Your treasure? But I don't want it." He spun back for Rudolf. "Hey, wait up!"

Atreyu laughed at Roland and shook his head.
"At least they wondered and didn't get themselves trapped somewhere." Atreyu glanced at Ivan and tried to cover his laughter at the sound of his friend's voice. "It seems someone is using their 'parent' voice." Atreyu flicked his tail and turned back to the path; waiting for the others.
"Yes, I'm a ghost." Kai nodded, using all his effort to keep from laughing. He paused when he heard the voice and he turned to scan the trees. "Your treasure? Bah! We called it first." Kai glanced at Rudolf and frowned. Obviously he knew who was speaking and Kai began to back up, following after Rudolf and Garaden.

Roland nodded. "That is very true." He said. He looked around as the sun was almost gone. "It'll be completely dark soon."
Rudolf nodded. "Not mess her with." He said still backing up, "Kai no! Treasure hers." He did not want to see her angry at them for trying to take her treasure. Besides the treasure they were after wasn't hers or at least he was pretty sure of that. Her treasure would be hidden somewhere near here.
The eyes began growling at what Kai said. "Yours?! I don't think so. I went through a lot of trouble to get all of my treasure." The voice said. Suddenly a purple female ran out charging Kai. Nephele was not happy that someone was trying to claim her treasure and possible steal it.

"Parent voice?" Ivan turned to Atreyu. "What do you mean? I don't have a parent voice." He flicked his tail, frowning slighty. "Need to be a parent first for that don't you?" He said softly, a bit of yearning filtering through his voice. Shaking his head, he stood up to shout to the three. "Would you guys hurry it up!"
Garaden licked his nose nervously. "Kai, maybe you should listen to- Kai!" He barked as a wolf charged out. Acting quickly, he jumped to push Kai out of the way.
