Dark Angel of Sol

A black 1996 Ford Ranger pulled up a block away from the Penfold Estate. Orion Gladius sat in the truck for a few minutes debating weather or not to go. In the beginning of the day he had decided he wasn't going unless he had finished his contract with Grisoft, an anti-virus company. He worked faster then he thought and found he had cracked the program and sent the report by 5 o'clock. I know that they aren't that sloppy. I should forget about it and have some fun at this party. Orion sighed as he opened the Rangers front door and stepped out. He grabbed his bag, slamed the door shut, and started walking towards the estate. He fumbled with the silver coin that has been pushing the back of his mind all day. When he turned the corner he saw the Penfold Estate in it's new glory. A few words excaped his lips as he walked up to the door, “Damn, who ever owns this place sure did a good job fixing it up.” Orion knocked a few times and opened the door.

Henry ran forward while the Snowman was distracted and whacked it hard, in the hat, with his flaming stick.

((oop sorry...))

Cains eyes widened at the strange scene that unfolded before him, and he was frozen in place. Before he could manage to even move a muscle, he was knocked down roughly, the movement crossing his vision as if in slow-motion. He slid across the snow, and when he stopped, hands shaking at his sides, it was all he could do but stare at the 'sky' and shake his head, attempting to curse off this strangeness.

He was taken from his stupor by the gasp of help from the man who had fallen near, and sat up before crawling to his aid. "A-are you alright?" he questioned in a quiet, shaky voice. Rather futile he thought: the man was obviously injured, or at least greatly shaken. He placed his hand on he small of the mans back, gently sitting his torso up out of the cold snow. Snow indoors! He shook off his minds protests for the moment.

"I'm fine, I'm fine," Arthur replied breathlessly. "Just look out for... the massive... flaming-hat snowman... he can't make it... much longer... can he?" Arthur started trying to get to his feet; it was working but slowly.

((It's okay.
Oh, and we're actually outdoors now, trees and everything.))

The door to the manor opened silently.

***

The Snowman caught it's hat before Henry could knock it off of it's head. The hat was dented now and still burning. Chunks of it began to fall off. It wouldn't be much longer before the hat was gone.
It swung an arm at Henry, intent of sending him flying back. Henry found that his once sprained wrist was now feeling better.

The snowman pursued Henry now.

Henry scrambled back, keeping the fire between himself and the Snowman. It wouldn't be long now, anyways. Right?

The snowman through a fist-sized chunk of itself at Henry.

"Uhh, oww?" he said. It wasn't the first time he'd been hit with a snowball.

Unfortunately for Henry, the snow in the snowball seemed to have frozen. So, it was rather hard. Also, the snowman had thrown it rather hard.
It still wasn't the most painful thing that Henry has experienced. But it stung. It might even leave a welt.
The snowman primed another snowball.

"Oww, s**t!"
Henry threw the flaming stick like a javelin, then, getting one of his feelings, rolled to the side to avoid the snowball.

The stick melted through the snowman's chest, impaling it. The stick remained inside the snowman, flaming side sticking out the back. It seemed rather ineffective. The snowman pulled it out of it's chest and tossed it aside, leaving a large hole in it's chest.

Five-eighths of the large hat was still remaining.

Unfortunately for Henry, even though managed to dodge the snowball, the snowman had four other arms, and each already had a snowball ready to be thrown. It threw the first, then the second, and so on, tracking Henry's movements and throwing with amazing accuracy.

Snowmen are apparently notoriously good snowball fighters.

By the time it had thrown the fifth snowball, the snowman had two other snowballs made in his free hands.

Arthur finally managed to get to his feet.

Arthur had no stick, had no weapons, had very little in the way of anything. He was badly dressed for snow weather, although there was warmer clothing in his backpack - but that wasn't important, he needed to start moving about. "Hey, you!" he shouted, prepared to take a few apparently painful snowballs.

The snowman paused from pelting Henry and turned it's attention to Arthur. It snarled and began to throw the remaining snowballs at him. After that, it charged Arthur.

Ro arrived by Arthur's side, intent on helping him out. He attempted to catch one of the snowballs. He succeeded, but it didn't last long. The impact stung his hand and he didn't expect it. He dropped it.

((The snowballs aren't too big of a threat, they're kinda like over-sized paintballs. They hurt, but aren't lethal. Unless, of course, you get hit somewhere like the temple very hard....))
PostPosted: Wed Jan 07, 2009 3:46 pm

Wu oh, it was charging.

Arthur threw himself to the side as best as he could, rolling a little on top of the snow, at the very last moment he could; the snowman's velocity ought to carry it beyond him, as far as he could recognize.

And just that happened, the snowman's velocity and it's inertia carried it well beyond the two. It slid along the snow and ice, not really having an efficient way to stop itself, it dropped to the ground and dug it's claws into the ice.

Ro rolled to the opposite side, dodging the snowman as well.
