G_E watched Rhia examine the mask amusedly. She'd never seen anyone so... well... she couldn't exactly say what, exactly, but it amused her and that was okay.
"She's around," G_E nodded, "She's just... always being kidnapped or something but she comes out just fine in the end. I suppose that's why so many of us consider her our leader."
She laughed a bit as Rhia knocked on the mask's forhead, "I wouldn't do that if I were you... I'm pretty sure that the kids can remember some of their experiences as a mask after they grow. Hitting it might not be too wise."
She sighed, picking at some grass, "Rade are -uh- predators, I suppose. They're huge and nearly impossible to kill. I doubt Ice is hunting them actually, that would be damn foolish."

The feathers on Rhia's bi-colored wings ruffled a bit, but she didn't say anything. If she wanted to knock on the ******** mask, she would do just that and no one would tell her otherwise. But instead of mouthing off Gee, she merely lowered the mask again and looked over at her.
"I've killed many things in my lifetime. Gryphon's, Dragon's, even Plague Beasts, if you know what those are." One of her eyebrows raised over her sunglasses and she ran her free hand through her hair, "Those are a b***h to kill, what makes Rades so different?"

G_E leaned back, suddenly recieving some angry vibes from Rhia. That woman obviously didn't like being given advice... but then again, she probably didn't need it.
She fidgeted a bit, playing with the hem of her shirt, "Well, I can't say I've seen a dragon before, let alone killed one. It's just... the rade are actually almost an organized group of people. They aren't like normal creatures. They think and are capable of speach."
The truth was, until she'd come to Masquerade G_E had had no experience with killing. Her skill with a knife had come with long, intense practises and not with experience. It had been easy enough to kill the snakes, even if it had been the first time she'd ever killed anything, because not only her life had been in danger but those who she considered family could possibly have been hurt.
There was no way she was letting Rhia know that though. So what if she hadn't killed a dragon?
Actually killing a dragon was pretty impressive...

Rhia again raised a cynical brow at Gee, sensing a slight change in the woman's aura. A little trepidation was there now, slight, but Rhia could pick it up. Good. Let the woman know she could handle herself against any foe that stepped foot before her. Hell, she had even held her own against a god for awhile. Now that was something to brag about.
...And had the circumstances been different, she would be bragging about it.
"You don't want to see a Dragon up close," She commented, realizing she had burned another cigarette down to the butt. She took it out of her mouth and stuck the smoldering end on her tongue, extinguishing it and then idly twirling it between her fingers. Her tail flicked back and forth as she continued talking, and she almost seemed to be enjoying herself. "They're big, ugly bastards, at least most of them. Some of them are nice looking, and friendly too, but the majority of them just look at you as a bite-sized snack. Plague Beasts on the other hand aren't even intelligent enough to come up with a strategy, they just attack you. Ugly as hell, those guys, all of them. Just a big mass of gooey, ******** mucus it looks like. And they've got eyes all over, big bloodshot eyes that never blink. They're worse than the damn Dragons to kill, mind you, because if you leave even the tiniest bit of them, they'll come back."
Rhia blinked a few times, realizing she was rambling. Worse yet, she had developed a small grin on her face. She wiped the smirk from her dark lips and cleared her throat, reaching up and gently tugging on her long ear. "Uhh, anyways, it's just that they're both hard as hell to kill, you don't want to tangle with either of them. Though I have, and I've killed them both too."

Trivii Aricin Again"I'll remember that.... both about you and Zahar... she wouldn't like pottery... but maybe Trivii could teach her how to embroider, Or... I think I have a book on basket weaving..." He tilted his head cheerfully noting that the litle Hatchi was following them, he shifted it back to Kata. "I'm just kidding.." Kataio laughed shaking her head. "It sounds like things are being moved about. We should get to Zahar soon and then maybe head towards that sound. People talking is a good thing, no?" She smiled at Aricin cheerfully, her eyes curving with the smile but hardly seen under the dark glasses. "What about you any thing you want to say about yourself?" (Kali where is Zahar and Gali... I posted something for then I think on page 34... *pouts* it's ok if ya are busy and all such is life. just checkin to see if you noticed.)

Aricin was pleased with the positive reaction from Kata, sliding a hand through his already tossled hair "Yeah, people talking is a good thing...." He looked a little unsure about how he should talk about himself.. "About me... not a very interesting topic but okay, my family was sort of well of, I worked in an orphenage while I was going to college, I have really bad luck... I have two degrees one in Botony, which use to be more of a hobby, and one in actual medicine... though I generally can't stand the smell of blood." Glancing over at her the lanky guy asked, "Good enough or any questions?" The way he talks lends one to thinking that there's more to him than the general information, almost as though he has a few secrets of his own.

Fauve wandered back out onto the common grounds. Her golden curls hung around her masked face, she'd been very careful to put the ribbons that Io had gotten for her back into her hair. Her blue eyes scanned the goings on, there was a woman she didn't recognize standing with Gee and Chae. She adjusted the sleeves on her dress and made sure she looked clean and her dress hung correctly. Fauve glanced over at where Merci was still standing holding that odd child's hand...
Alright... so she didn't like him... true she had just met him but she wasn't about to be happy about sharing her guardian... the little twerp... She reached her hand up into the air and mentally called out for her pet. It wasn't long before her duck sized dragon was perched up on her shoulder. Fauve had long ago gotten used to the weight there.
Merci glanced at Haisyn and held up one finger, "Be right back I want to see whats going on" She turned and walked over to Gee, elbowing her lightly in the ribs to get her attention. "Hey, whats going on?" Merci looked up at the kind of odd looking woman and nodded, not offering her hand to Rhia. "Hi, haven't seen you around before..." the mask caught Merci's attention and she smirked a little bit, "So they got you huh? I just hope your's is less trouble then mine..."
Fauve heard Merci and her eyes narrowed a little bit 'And what, may I ask, is so wrong with me...' Fauve folded her arms and walked over to stand next to Merci. She had a good two inches on her guardian now.
Merci was a rather... height challenged woman with short red hair. She had green eyes, fox-like ears and a tail. Upon seeing Merci the fact she's extremely well armed is apparent. Two well taken care of and well worn pistols are located under each arm and one at her waist, along with several bladed weapons scattered around her body.
The little boy holding Merci's hand came up to a little above her waist. His wings would be something that stood out about him, along with the slightly crooked halo that hung a few inches above his head. A beanie rests over his blonde tipped brown hair. The kid gives off an aura of nonchalance, and his green eyes are wandering around showing his bordom.
(kinda got carried away on the discriptiveness... ah well)

Trivii lead the girl by the hand into her house, completely forgetting the house warming gift. "Well Saniya, this is home. Your room is the last door on the left, at the end of the hall... This is the main living room, and through there is the office. My room is accross the hall from yours, Aricin is the first door.... He's our roommate." She turned her head to take in the girls reaction, then continued to lead the girl down the hall to her new room.
Saniya blinked a little and forced herself to remember the verbal tour. Trivii was just as uneasy as she herself, she just needed to remember that.. Lifting her aqua gaze her eyes tilted up in a smile. Oh no, she was not going to make this difficult for her Guardian if she vould avoid it. *I will not be a burden.* She thought determend, following Trivii's lead down the hall.
Trivii swallowed, "We already painted the walls a dark blue, but if you don't like it that can change..."
Saniya blinked looking at the sparten room... a fish tank, and some curtains might be nice..... but... Its nice, I like blue.
Trivi smiled brightly and her tail resumed its natural twitch, "Well then I'm just gonna go prep the pot of tea, and then we can go introduce you to Pam."
Saniya's eyes twinkled. That sounds like fun... when we get back and we work on my bedroom?
"We sure can beautiful, I have my hope chest somewhere in storage... I can dig you out some nice linens." Trivii called as she disapeared to go make the tea.
San nodded walking over to her window, the ledge could make a nice seet... she felt the lives of other masks near at hand and pushed the window open. It would take a little work, but nothing that she was adverse to.

Haisyn nodded to Merci as she left. "I'll be there in a minute... I want to check on Ash first." She watched the other woman walk away, followed by Fauve, and felt more than slightly unsettled. What was she supposed to do with Ash now when she did wake up? Figure it out one step at a time, she supposed...
She headed into her room and crouched down beside the bed. Ash was still sleeping, though Haisyn sort of 'felt' that she'd probably wake up soon. Brushing her girl's hair away from her closed eyes, Haisyn considered carefully what she was going to need to do. She wasn't all that grown up herself... she just acted so somber all the time because she wasn't entirely sure how to have fun any more, after all that happened. Ash was starting to change that, along with every one else here. Some of them had even seen what could happen to her when she lost control, and they didn't seem to have judged her for it. Perhaps there really were such things as second chances.
And Ash... while Haisyn still felt sort of like Ash was her 'little girl', she also felt a little weird about it. It was sort of like back when she'd had Danica around. Her cousin, separated from Haisyn by two years, was picked on by the other children because the Clan's infamous powers had taken so long to manifest in her. The Clan Mother, the matriarch of the Fierra Clan and Danica's birth mother, hadn't done much by way of nurturing Danica after she was old enough to eat on her own. Danica was Haisyn's cousin, best friend, and in a way, Haisyn had become a surrogate older sister/mother for her cousin.
But Danica was gone... probably for good. With Danica's forced disappearance all those years ago, and Verran's betrayal, Haisyn had been alone. Completely. She'd actually come to the colony half hoping some raging beast would catch her alone and unawares and kill her. As long as others were around, she'd protect them... but if she hadn't gotten Ash when she had... there was a good chance she would have gone back to the Rade caverns alone by now. Ash was her second chance... this place was a new start... a chance to hit the restart button and try again. She needed it, and Verran deserved another chance, too. ...She'd have to tell him that after she found him and gave him a sound thrashing for leaving without telling anyone and worrying her so much.
Ash was disturbed from the last stages of sleep by some of Haisyn's stronger surface thoughts. She groggily reached a hand out and held one of Haisyn's with it, giving a loud and satisfied mental yawn. If you don't cheer up sometime soon I'm going to paint a smiley face on you while you're asleep sometime.
Haisyn snorted. "I'd like to see you try! I'm not the heaviest of sleepers, even on a good day."
Ash sat up and rubbed her eyes. There's plants around that can take care of that easily enough. She looked at Haisyn with an impish twinkle in her eye. Though I think I'd rather use them on Uncle so we can both teach him a lesson for running off whenever he gets back.
"Careful kiddo, you might actually talk me into it." Haisyn stood back as Ash got up, watching as the newly grown teen examined herself in the mirror. "This might be a stupid question, but... you doin' ok, Ashy?"
It's going to take some getting used to... but I'll be fine. It's kinda nice to be... well... me, again. She turned to her guardian with her eyes turned up in a smile. And don't worry. We figured eachother out pretty easily before, it can't be that hard to readjust this time. Now! Let's go find Fauve and bug Aunt Merci!
Haisyn nodded. "Yeah... lets. You know if you leave me alone I'll get myself all wound up and do something stupid. I'm sorry about before, by the way... running off. If you felt anything like I feel now, worrying about Verran..."
Shoosh. Second chances, right? She held her hand out for Haisyn to take as they walked outside. We're all getting second chances now. We need to let go of what was and make the best of what will be.
"You definitely don't sound like a kid any more. This WILL take some getting used to..." Haisyn shook her head as they came up behind Merci and Fauve. "Hey gals! Look who's up!"

Fauve turned at the sound of Haisyn's voice, she looked at Ash and her eyes turned up in an obvious smile. Fauve threw herself at her sister and gave her one of the biggest hugs she ever has. 'I was so worried about you... look I grew up to!' Fauve stepped back and did a little spin so Ashy could see. She stopped and it was entirely obvious to everyone around just by her body language that Fauve's mood had definately improved.
Merci glanced back at Haisyn and her grin was unmistakable, she looked over at Ashy and waited for Fauve's enthusiastic greeting to be over before saying "Looks like our family is growing up nicely... you look like your feeling better Ashirha.. and as your guardian said to your sister 'Welcome to young adulthood."
Inathe cooed happily from where he was on Fauve's shoulder. He was glad that his mother was in a better mood, he didn't like it when she got sullen and sulky.
Uriel squeezed Merci's hand and whispered quietly "Why don't they talk?"
Merci looked down at Uriel and lost a little bit of her smile "They do love, you just can't hear them."
Uriel looked confused "How?"
Merci looked at Fauve and then back down at Uriel, "Only their guardians can hear them. I can hear what Fauve is saying, but I can't hear Ashy over there." Merci gestured to each girl in turn, "However Haisyn can hear Ashy, but not Fauve."
Fauve looked at the little boy and then at her sister 'Thats my new 'brother'. I guess he popped out of one of those weird hats that Kali and Merci found. I... don't... like... him.....'
Merci looked at Fauve and thought at her 'Your going to have to get used to him Fauve.. He needs me just like you do.'
Fauve turned to glare at Merci and straightens up 'Don't get a tone with me, I'm allowed not to like him..' Fauve turned away pointedly to look at Ashy... 'Since... growing I've kinda wanted to talk to Io... but I don't think she'd want to talk about...' She trailed off.

Cinderfae Kasai yawned slightly as he sat at the table drinking his warm cocoa, occasionally his eyes would start to droop. Shaking his head he started to get up, but then stumbles from exhaustion.Cin reaches out quickly when she sees Kasai start to fall, "looks like someone is getting tired. I am going to take him to bed," Cin says this and then looks to Kali, "I can help you move your and Galilee's stuff over here after that if you like." Why are you moving their things? Kasai askes a confused tone in his voice.They are going to be living with us now. Galilee is going to be your new roommate. That's cool, Kasai smiles sleepily."Alright, I am putting him to bed now." (sorry i wasn't around...took a small break) Kaliksa nodded, "That'd be great...Galilee and I will go get a few things so we can sleep over...of course, he's up half the night wandering the house...so don't mind him." I have to check the perimeter to make sure nothing gets in. He looked at Kasai, Room mates...neat.

(poor Zahar left alone I'll go pick her up and trot over to where everyone else is with Aricin ^_^ if he wants to come that is)
"Thank you for telling me what you have Aricin. I won't pester for me, just whatever you feel is good to the ears or to know." Kataio smiled a bit and then pointed at the little yellow girl. "There is Zahar. I wonder why she is alone?"
Zahar was tapping her foot when they reached her. She had been left alone to wait for Kataio when Galilee went with Kali. She decided that Kata wouldn't be long so she waited for her. Obviously Kataio had taken her time. 'Well you took long enough. I have been standing her for sometime now. My escort left and I decided that it was best not to wander along.'
Kataio sighed lightly. "Sorry I thought there would be others with you." Kataio looked the little girl up and down. "Do you want to go back home or see the others then?"
'Let us go see the others. Maybeyou could learn to be a more productive person if you spend more time with real people.' Zahar's words were a bit cold but kata shrugged them off holding her hand out to the girl. Zahar took it with a sigh and a shake of her head.

And should I describe Rhia or does that really matter? I've got a thingy in my journal that explains her appearance, so I suppose it doesn't matter. <_> )) Rhia turned her attention from Gee to the newcomer and once again raised a brow. Either people here found it okay to butt into someone else's conversation, or they were just being 'polite'. She waved the black and white mask at Merci, giving Fauve and the boy holding the shorter woman's hand a once-over before disregarding them. "Yeah, I suppose you could say that." She ran her tongue in between her teeth and her left cheek, her tail curling and uncurling as she lifted the extinguished cigarette. "Is there any place I can put this, and where can I get something to drink?" She hadn't really planned on staying here and engaging in chit-chat with the locals, she had just wanted to dump the ******** cargo off and head back home. But now it seemed she was stuck with a mask that would turn into - of all things! - a kid, and it seemed that everyone here was perfectly alright with allowing the mask to be taken by a demon of her.... protocols.

Aricin Watched Kata trot off, and shook his head, maybe it would be a good idea if they split up for a wile so that Kata could have some time with Zahar... Still he wanted to figure out where he was needed, he never was one who enjoyed being idle. Maybe he would go grab a bath after they figured that out, have a cup of coffee... read some print outs, find out what Trivii was up too.....
He looked up as he saw the two aproach. "I think we should figure out where we're needed then I have some things I need to take care of, nothing pressing, but still, we can split up and start work tomorrow morning."

Jonah got up and began to start walking towards Pam, 'My name is Jonah. What is yours?" he stuck out his hand, expcting to get a welcoming hand shake.
Pam looked at his hand and said " I am Pam." Then she through her arms around him and promised to never let go!
Jonah hugged her back they held on to each other as if it was for there lives. Jonah knew he was welcome. He liked her promise and he felt loved again. They eventually let go of each other then Pam said, "Your are so cute!"
Jonah smile And said, "I know!"
Pam looked at Jonah in his beautiful dark purple eyes and Jonah stared back. Pam shook her head as she looked away, " Do you wanna come inside?"
Jonah, still looking at pam said, "Yes, I would like that very much." Jonah and Pam walked to the house side by side Pam grabbed Jonah's hand and held it softly.
