It would be difficult to take a fall for something that is no way the responsibility of the production staff. The fault still lies in management, so tell me why Hellboy would know anything about the contracts to begin with?

Unless someone is telling him he's supposed to. In which case I am about to turn one of these attournies into something with a salted rim.

Does any of this seem like a joke to you, Mister Boy? The time and pain and heartache that many people have suffered for what you are insisting NOW is a joke?

Was it funny for you to see my client's relationship with his girlfriend dissolve? To see him harassed at his job and at the places he goes to relax? Did you enjoy the idea of him being afraid for his life? Was this just hilarious to you and your cadre?

In the end, Mister Boy, your production company failed to obtain a release. You and your constituents put together little business cards and enjoyed tormenting my client until his mental state began to crumble. "Reformed" hellspawn? Really, Mister Boy?

*Mayy snorts derisively at the "afraidfor his life" remark.*

I see that Defense does indeed find it all hilarious. No further questions, your Honor.

This is pointless. Clearly production did its job, which didn't have anything to do with contracts. The issue of conspiracy is no longer extant in my mind.

Hellboy, you may step down. There will be no cross-examination.

Your honor, if I may? We are not arguing that we did not wrong Mr. Powell. We did when we went into production without his consent. It was an error on my part, and one for which I DEEPLY apologize. However, to blame us for his inability to keep a girlfriend? This is really ridiculous.

I was going to call upon an expert to try and refute brainiac's testimony, but there really is no point to it. And I feel, even if the plaintiff does not, that this has gone on for too long. Is there any way to end these procedings?

I've heard enough. Counsel's may come up with and deliver closing arguments. Those of you with more witnesses should have dragged them out sooner, at this point there is little that can be done short of delivering a signed and sealed release contract that is going to change much.

Plaintiff does not object to a summary judgment at this juncture.

::Stands up to deliver his closing statement::

Your Honor, when we began this trial many...many moons ago...we had a simple point to show. My client endured constant beratement from members of this card-carrying cadre. Then, they formed a production company and marketed videos of him intending to debase him even further. The defense has tried to hide behind various screens-calling my client insane, claiming that they were 'just joking,' and finally, trying to submit a forged video tape that somehow they felt justified or excused using his likeness illegally.

The Defense violated New York Civil Code 50. The damages my client asks for are meant to set prescendent to keep this sort of Civil Right infringement from happening again by setting the penalty too high for anyone to dare to attempt it.

These are the facts. No amount of smokescreening or handwaving by the defense can hide them. Please take them into account for your judgment. Thank you for your time. The Plaintiff rests.

Firstly, I'm gonna smack Matt later for calling me a 'reformed demon.' I may be of demonic descent but goddammit last time I checked I wasn't calling you a freaking alien menace from beyond the stars. I served the country that raised me for fifty years in the BPRD, and I've saved the world more times than you've eaten hot rocks!

*rises to his feet, slamming his fist on the table as the crown flares brightly in time with his anger* scream I AM NOT A GODDAMN MONSTER!

.......

*slumps back down, uncomfortable* stare

...Powell's one of those guys you can't help but poke, y'know? I sure as hell didn't have any part in whatever crap went down with his girlfriend, and I'm sorry that seems to not have worked out. They made a cute couple. I never meant him any harm.

*vacates the stand to occupy the chair next to Matt*

*Matt clears his throat.* I have little to say in the way of closing arguments, Your Honor. We made a mistake. If Mr. Powell feels that taking 3DP and all its profits is going to make up for that? I can understand that. If he feels he's owed a little something extra to puinish us further? I can understand that as well. But he seems to think that because of us, he's entitled to an additional $30 million. A multi-billion dollar corporation.

We are MORE than willing to make restitution. We SINCERELY apologize for the things we've done. But not for things that we didn't. Not for things that aren't our fault.

The defense rests, your honor.

Relax, Client Lad. We did the best we could. That's all we can do in the realm of law. The rest is up to the Judge.

I know...thanks for all your help Tenz.
