Roran stood stock still. This was when every second counted. This was when you had to move at the right moment, or you were dead along with anyone behind you. This was the moment every hunter lived for. "Come on you overgrown shitzu!" The best that came charging at him was not his friend. Not right now anyways. An animal blinded by rage. Roran had his hands by his side. It was like old westerns. Roran had to draw before his opponent. His large, hairy, snarling opponent. His bow was away, his sword was away.
The beast was getting near by now, its arm raised to swipe down on him.Now. Roran jumped back to keep pace with the beast. He reached out towards the arm that just grabbed at thin air and gripped the black hair. Hoisting himself onto the creatures back, he whipped out an arrow and put it to h is throat. "Check mate."
Kantern watched his friend gloat. It did Roran good to win some, but then, he won all of them. Kantern could never best his hunter friend in the charge. Somehow, Roran always found a way. Grabbing a cold chunk of snow from under his coat, it got stuck there when he transformed out of his were form. "Oh shut up," he snarled. "You always win and you know it. The gloating gets old."
"Eh, I guess you're right." Roran sat in the snow with his friend, still smiling. "You're no good at the charge. You should avoid that situation at all costs."
"I know! But even in the close combat, I'm only good when outnumbered, or when facing a slow opponent. My body is fast, but it's so large that once I start moving it becomes difficult to stop. Your speed gives you the advantage over my brutality."
"Mmm, I concur." Roran was watching the snow in front of him. He loved to hunt in the snow. It not only made it easier to track, but it also helped get rid of scent. "You just need to work on following your motions through so they go together more fluidly, making your movement more swift."
"Easy for you to say, you're not the giant wolf."

Priya looked up as she heard the scuffle in the snow, her wings vanishing from sight. She just folded her arms over her chest, giggling a little when Roran bested Kantern. The bruise that was forming on her cheek she ignored at least for that moment. The snow was starting to wash what was covering up all the bruises on her body. Well, at least on her arms. She looked up and caught something that dropped, a screech echoing in the air as it flew off. There was a note attached to the bundle, reading, "I'm sorry. Take these, you'll need them. ~Sarah" It made her smile a little, her cousin was so fickle sometimes. Well, she had her good and bad times.
Sitting down on a rock, she fixed her skirt a little, pulling the wrapping from around a rapier, barbed whip, and a bag. She laughed lightly, the sound ringing like tinkling bells, the bag getting strapped to her belt, seeming rather bulky against her small form. Then her hands rested on her weapons, drawing the rapier, the sheath finding it's home at her hip. The dagger tip of the dagger snapped a nut from the snow, getting tugged back to that the nut fell into her open palm. The barbs faded back into the whips length, since her mood wasn't upset or anything. It was a whip her brother had given her after one of his trips to Mereth back when he hadn't been banned before their lives went to hell. She just giggled again, looping it up and attaching it to her hip as well. The sword she tested around with some more before sheathing it, starting to hum softly again. Her wings spread from her back, carrying her up into the air, setting herself down in one of the branches of a tall tree. She let them fold away from view, watching the camp from her good view, having to seriously resist the urge to sing loudly. So, she just sang a quiet tune under her breath, pretty sure that few could hear her. It was almost more of a hum.

After a few hours, the faerie emerged from Selena's room, sighing as they shook their heads. "We were able to finally stop the poison, however, when we tried to heal the wound, it would not close. There has been a curse carved into her back that will no longer allow any healing spell to have affect on her. So we stitched it shut. She shouldn't move for at least a week, and it will take another two weeks before she will be able to leave the forest without the worry of the wound re-opening." The main faerie told the two before being waved off by the king with a light smile.
Once the faerie were gone though, the king sighed. "I'll have to speak to their Queen and request to move the army into the safety of the forest for the next three weeks. It will be an opportune time to plan our strategy out, if anything, and if I know Selena like I think I do, she'll spend the time she isn't bed-ridden to train." He told Leena before bowing lightly and walking off with Tuin.

Leena looked up when the faerie returned to them, brushing her white hair back. She just grimaced a little, nodding once as she looked to the king. She listened silently, just nodding once with a light sigh. She stepped through a portal of light, reappearing back at the camp, glancing around to see where everyone was. The first she knew she should speak to would be Roran knowing him. It didn't take long to find him, ignoring the fact that Priya was up in a tree nearby. She nodded to them both before speaking, her golden eyes resting on Roran. "The Princess needs to rest where she is with the faeries for two weeks about, maybe a little more than that. The king is speaking to their Queen about allowing the army to camp within the forest so we can plan our strategy and whatnot. I figured it would be best to come back and at least let some know what the situation is." She murmured, tilting her head a little bit.

Cori automatically leaned lightly into him, looking up to him. "So I wouldn't know and couldn't think any less of you?" she asked softly. She didn't, hopefully he'd realize that. In her mind he'd only made a mistake doing what he thought he should. She couldn't hold that against him, especially knowing she'd done countless things similar. Nothing quite as drastic as whatever it was he had done, but the same general concept.
Aki teleported to Altarion's side, looking somewhat hesitantly to him. "All of Aduil's people are gone. None of my scouts have figured out where they went yet... Is there anything else you need of me?" she asked, hoping he wouldn't lash out at her. He didn't look very happy...

Vadász sighed with a small chuckle, nuzzling noses with her, a tiny smile on his lips. "Yeah. Something like that." He kissed her forehead gently, sighing again as he was reminded of how old he was. "What can you see in this old man? I mean, seriously Cori. I'm a little bit more than twice your age. Sure I don't look it, but that doesn't excuse the fact that I am." It was obvious lots of things had been on his mind, his past locked away nice and tight again so it was just the present that was bothering him, and thoughts of the future.

Kantern had dozed off. His ears and nose told him of Leena's arrival first, though. Opening one eye to see the wizard, he watched her. Yawning, he stretched, stood, and licked his lips to moisten them. Even though she wasn't looking to him, he answered first. "Two weeks? Baby, isn't that a little long? We need to-"
"Shut it Kantern. I don't need your pet names, nor your rushing into action attitude right now." His eyes locked with Leena. "If the fairy folk are unable to heal her, and I hate to say this, we can't wait around for her. Altarion is getting more active each day. First he attacks Talagand, then destroys Aduial, and then attacks Selena. That last one is her fault, and if I had gotten face to face with her, I might have blown a casket. I have no control over this army, but that isn't going to stop me. Two weeks is too long. We're inviting Altarion to bombard us with casualties." He looked to Kantern who was wide awake at this point. Looking back to Leena, he shook his head. "I told Eve that if given the opportunity, I'd be striking Altarion down instead of her. Him being distracted with destroying the elves is a perfect opportunity." Standing, his eyes were like fire. "She can hold her army back to pay for her stupidity. I'm going after Altarion." Turning his back on the queen, he looked down at Kantern now. "Are you coming or staying?"
Kantern listened to Roran's speech. It was impressive, and if this moment hadn't been so tense, he would have applauded. Ressisting that urge, though, he looked up at Roran's question. "I can be the one making contact. I'll be the messenger between you guys. A hawk in the sky could alert an army. A lone wolf won't." His eyes met Leena's as he said the hawk bit. "I know you won't leave now, but when you do, I'll stay. It shouldn't be hard to track the only person with Mothian and Merethian blood in him. Your scent is more unique than anyone else's." Yawning again, he layed back, his hands behind his head. "Now come on. It's a beautiful night sky and we're discussing war. Let's go to sleep."
"Your laid back personality will get you killed one day." He looked back to Leena as he sat down again. "You need to stay too. Selena's not gonna want to talk with me, and the King can't do much. Plus, I'd rather not talk with that elf Nacelyne. She looks so timid, shy, and harmless, but she's a killer." He sighed. "You make sure Eve gets better."

((oh if Cori was out there to b***h... Anywho, sorry for the lack of posting. Might get another one in, kinda doubt it. Like I said, school and hw. Also, do the shifters(like him or whatever their technical name is) age like humans, or live longer like elves?))
Cori supressed a sigh, she'd hoped he wouldn't ask this, though she smirked faintly. "Someone I can stand and who can put up with me." she said, before it faded and she found herself looking away as she grew serious. "I don't know. Call me a silly little girl who runs after the first guy she finds, but..." she trailed off, shrugging helplessly. He was right though. How could she love him, or say that she just did? That she knew he did her?

Leena felt her cheeks flush a little at the pet name, though she kept a calm composure, simply clearing her throat a little turning her eyes away from Kantern and back to Roran as he spoke. "It's not that they can't heal her, it's that they've done all they can." She tried to explain, but she doubted it would have really mattered what she said. And it didn't. It never mattered. "He won't be distracted long. Roran, he's probably expecting this." She spoke, somehow keeping her tone calm. Part of her wondered why she bothered, he wasn't going to listen to her one way or another. Who ever did? "
She just bowed her head, acknowledging the fact that she was powerless and wouldn't try to change his mind. She did look to Kantern when he mentioned the hawk, she wouldn't force Vadász away from his girl, not now. She was going to free him from herself if he so chose, though his immunity from her would remain, along with the offer of a home. She felt her hands tighten a little at her sides, always the go between.... She didn't know why, but her heart felt heavy, staring blankly at the snow. "Fine. I'll try to continue my apparent duties of ambassador for you two." She muttered, something other than calm in her voice, for once it wasn't there, but it wasn't clear what had replaced it. She walked past them both, her expression hard to read since the calm mask she kept was obviously crumbing a little, her feet silent as they walked on top of the snow, not sinking into it like an elf. She summoned a bat, telling it to pass onto the King what Roran was going to do, shooing it off into the night. She wouldn't end up sleeping, she never did. It had been so long since she slept that she forgot what it was like. She paused, taking out the potion that Roran had given her, glancing back over to the two of them. Oh she was so tempted to use it on him, but she wouldn't. She probably would never use that potion. Sighing heavily, she just looked to her right when she sensed the spy walk up. "What is it..." She whispered, putting away the potion before turning her eyes to her.
"A elkĂ©szĂtĂ©sek van kiegĂ©szĂt , vagyunk kĂ©sz mozog bármikor."
"Really? Well, just remain back in Mereth for now. I have no idea where I would send our forces at the moment." She couldn't send them to the Faeries forest, they would be turned away since she didn't have the Queen's permission yet. And she wasn't going to have them report here, she would only send them after the elven army if they had no other salvation for them. "Visszamegy haza részére most. ÉN akarat küld egy észrevesz mikor Nekem van tovább rendel érted." She said softly, watching her leave silently. The one point that she had to count on was that her advisers back home wouldn't order her army after the elven's. Her hands tightened into fists again, what kind of a leader was she if hardly anyone listened to her? The air around her grew heavy, some of the snow swirling around her body before forming into ice and shooting out into the sky, her frustration flowing with it. Then she was left empty again, what she knew what would come to pass happening. One couldn't live off of a sense of duty alone and not crack a little. She just looked up to the sky, shaking her head again as she took out the potion, glancing towards Roran again. Maybe I should just give it back...I can't use it on him, it just doesn't feel right. She sat down on her cloak, staring up at the stars. I can't blame him for what he believes is right, but why can't I shake the feeling it's a suicide trap? She shivered a little, placing the potion away again. And I can't convince Kantern otherwise, he'll follow Roran with almost anything he does. She looked up to the sky, thinking of her parents, what would they do? "What do I do now?" She whispered to the nights air, knowing she would receive no answer, only the cold wind on her skin.

(( oops. xP It's all good. Well.... he's a special case? Along with his sister ))
Vadász was watching her reaction carefully, he was worried about this, he knew how it made them feel, but was it really right? "You aren't silly. Maybe we should give this some thought though, as much as I hate to say it." He said quietly, holding her gently. His thoughts had gone far enough that he couldn't even produce that warmth for her. He knew what made them happy, but would this be allowed?

((I'm having Kantern age normally, Thy. I just assumed that was the case. Katie, you're mean! Just because my character doesn't like yours. crying ))
Kantern watched the queen go, growling at Roran. "You oaf. You don't treat a lady like that, whether she's royalty or not."
Roran grit his teeth. "Lady Leena told me to not be as formal as normal. Hell, I'm not even supposed to be calling her milday! I told her what I thought, that is all she wants."
"You're a fool." Kantern watched the queen as she sat down, her back to them. "I'm going to talk with her." Sneaking up behind the queen, he stood there, waiting for the perfect time to get in. Her question was that time. It looks like I'll be doing this a lot.
"What you do now is simple." He shrugged, not knowing if she knew he was there. "You do what you feel is right. That's all anyone can do. Roran, well, Roran wants to end the war badly. he lost a father to it, and has no idea whether his mom is okay or not. He just wants to take Moth back and free his people. That's understandable, right? Well, because of this belief and want, Roran can't wait around for the elf princess. He waited long enough trying to find her. From the way he acts when she's brought up, he doen't seem to like her, if he cares about her anymore at all. Plus, if what he said is true, then I know he won't wait around. He'll strike Altarion down. And even if Altarion is expecting a sneak attack, Roran's a top class hunter. Hell, I'd say he's the best hunter in the world. Altarion's going to have a hell of a time tracking and catching him, if he ever does manage to. You just need to believe Roran can do it." Kantern took a whiff to see what she was feeling. A person's temperature was easy to convert into feelings.
He ended up smelling his potion though. "Ah," he smiled, "Roran must've given it to you then." Kantern found it easy to change a subject. He didn't want to linger on the war topic too long. "That potion works really well. You should wait to use it until you are absolutley sure you want to use it. I actually only had that one." He sighed, sitting down now. "It took forever to get right, too. Heh, this one lady ended up dieing. She was alergic to frog's." He shrugged, sighing. "That's perfect though. No alergic reactions, no vomiting, no skin turning inside out. The perfect emotion potion." He grinned at his rhyme, relaxing a bit more.

(( Yeah, Vadász and his sister are freaks of nature. xD Oops. xP ))
Leena turned her head a little, she felt a presence near her, who it was though she couldn't tell. When she heard the voice, she relaxed a little, if it was Roran... Oh that wouldn't have been good. He'd be lucky if his soul remained his. She turned her golden eyes to Kantern, cocking her head a little as she listened to him, a tiny chuckle passing her lips. "It's completely understandable. He won't wait knowing him. No, he'll be fine I'm sure. I agree, I can tell he's a top class hunter. I'm a Queen, my main job is to worry. I can't help it if it spreads around a bit." She murmured, smiling softly back to him, her calm retaking her, filling that emptiness again.
Blinking a little, she nodded once, a hand resting on the pouch where it was, the subject change a welcome one. She raised an eyebrow, shifting so she was facing him now when he sat down, her white hair blending in with the snow. "There is that trial and error before one can perfect something." She understood that very well, it was the same thing with spells and life. She laughed softly, lightly at his rhyme and what came before it. Mainly the image of someone's skin turning inside out. It didn't phase her, something close had happened before in her home. She had to catch the mage who was testing in unsafe environments. She sighed, pulling out the potion again to look at it, her eyes following the pink liquid. "Liquid empathy... I don't know if I'll ever use it. It's not really my nature to force my will or feelings upon a person." She shook her head a little, she remembered enough instances that she had witnessed, and none were something she enjoyed. "Ah well... There may come a time. One never knows." She put it away, pausing as she thought about her statement, a small smirk sliding across her face before it was replaced by a small smile. She had premonitions, but even the future remained a mystery. The vial slipped back into it's hard pouch, her eyes drifting to the snow. "I've made a few quite a few spells, some taking longer to shape and test than others. I had to be far away from anyone living since my specialty is spells with the dead. Necromancy. One malfunction and I could have killed everyone within a village or the castle." She shivered a little, shaking her head. "Can't have that now can we?" She looked back to him, a finger tracing a scar by her neck as she brushed her hair back from her face.
