welcometomyhell I dislike when people call Raoul a fop, but when they call him a womanizer, it pisses me off to no end. It really annoys me because they have no idea what they're talking about and they're just pulling insults out of their asses. Calling Raoul a "player" and "womanizer" is just so freaking ignorant. Which is what spawns the many fanfics where Raoul abuses or cheats on Christine, and she runs back to Erik because "he is the only one who really loved her." Then again, Christine gets called a whore and a two-timer, as well. It's ignorance coming through.

What bugs me is people say they know Phantom, and then I say something from the book, and they're like, "What? That's not in the movie!"
And, actually, the lyric changes for the movie, too.
I watched it the other day with friends, and I was like, twitching. Literally.

Okay, this just like.....really bugs me. I told my friend to grab a movie last time she was over here, so out of curiousity (and to figure out what the hell I was talking about xD), she grabbed the movie. Grudgingly, I watched it. She loved it. We watched it again, she screamed at the TV for Raoul being a fop and needing to die (the way she says it is really amusing though). So, I tell her about the book, and next time I come over, before I even get in the door, she says:
'I got the wrong book.'
'What?'
'I got the wrong one.'
'How is that possible? Did you get a big red book (aka Susan Kay's because they have it at our library)'
'No. -shows book- It's by some guy named Gaston Luh-rocks.'
'You mean Leroux?'
'No, Luh-rocks. Look! -points to author-'
'It's Leroux. The x is silent or something. You didn't get the wrong book.'
'Yes I did. I wanted to Andrew Lloyd Webber one.'
'-headpalms and explains about the musical and book are different- There is no Andrew Lloyd Webber book.'
But looking back, that I don't think was what irked me. It was her slight cattyness about 'This book is confusing, it keeps changing people. From Raoul -insert gagging noise-, to the Persian, and the owner guys and Gabriel.', as well as constant yellings before she finishes: 'Raoul BETTER die! Yes! He's dead! Christine BETTER marry Erik, or else she's stupid! etc.etc.' So ya, that idea didn't work out so well.

That was actually pretty hillarious. I can see how it would be annoying, yet it sounds to be straight out of a comedy sketch.

Sadly, if she were my friend, I would have hit her with the book while telling her to get over it.
Most, when starting from the movie, act like that. The movie was meant to be appealing for a wider audience, so they dumbed everything down. So now millions of teenage girls are flocking to us, crying "RAOUL R FOP. CHRISTINE R WHORE. FANTOM R HAWT AND LURVE."

Why is it that the world is getting dumber when they say we're getting smarter?
The scientists are dumbing down too. We all seem weird to them because we're smart.
And I have hit my friend with my book, for a forgotten reason...I think she said something I disliked though.

I've hit Veiruu with my Leroux, cover side at her. She said something annoying and she was scared of the cover at the time.

Heh, hitting people with books is fun. Granted, I'm more of a laugh-in-face-and-tacke-to-ground sort of person when someone makes a moronic comment about something Phantom-related (been there, done that) but hey, clobering works too.

La Fantome de le opera Kay book + Musical = "YOUR JAR IS NOT BIG ENOUGH FOR MEEEE~" hahaha ilu.  That's all I've got. As for things phans hate...how about Emmy Rossum? And how she insists that "that high E was all mine" when 1) no it wasn't, and 2) that high note is in fact a D sharp.

Emmy Rossum's not so bad. She comes off conceited, but eh. *shrugs*
It depends on the phan. I don't hate her, but I'm pretty sure most Leroux/Brightman/Gerik lover phans hate her.
That said, I hate phanbrats or fanfics with Mary Sues (or worse...self inserts). UGH. Or people who say "I would totally do the Phantom if he kept his mask on.".
