(( Paintball Game ))

"The Paintball game's starting in a few, everyone! If you signed up for it, please make your way to the playing field to find your team and get your gear ready!"

Two large, brightly-colored buckets marked the center of the playing field. In each there was enough paintball guns for each team, along with colored sweatbands and protective goggles. Both team captains had a written list and a megaphone on hand, calling out for the members of their respective teams...

Team Melon
Captain Mouse
Cierra (Arana_Kimana)
Josh (Shushida)
Dorian (iStoleYurVamps)
Eirdirsceol (Storei)
Tyson (Ac.Wings)
Aphismet

Team Cactus
Captain We`rika
RoChan
Lucia (Yuurei-dono)
Lazarus (Kyoupiruchi)
Jupiter (Inksword)
Damien (Shiva)
David (Kaurii LeFay)

The playing field itself had a number of sand-built barriers, forts and ditches people could use to hide or wait in ambush.

((Sand n’ Stuff --> Paint Ball Game))

RoChan blushed, a brilliant shade of red coloring her cheeks, as the Raevan explained his question fully. “Uh…yes…well I tend to…um…sink… like a rock.” Speaking of rocks, where could she find one to crawl under and disappear for a moment? It wasn’t her fault that her astral self caused her human form to weigh the same amount as her dragon form. Thankfully the topic switched to her camera and the space spotting scope.

Between the barrage of questions and her earlier embarrassment, RoChan was taken a bit back. One question did come in loud and clear though. “Whoa there buddy.” She placed the tube between them like a barrier blocking his oncoming approach even further. He did have some fascinating eyes though and the way they twinkled almost made her giddy. “You’re camera is nice and all but that scope is hard to come by and costly.” Smiling a careful grin she shook a thin finger at him and rested a hand on her hip. “However, as another camera enthusiast, I may be willing to lend you the camera and scope under the proper vigilance.” No way in the nine hells was she about to part with the thing and then not keep an eye on it! “And I can show you my pictures of Mars, Venus and even Jupiter.” She gave him a playful wink removing the tube and placing it back to rest on her hip.

The loud announcement for the paintball game came blaring through. “Ah shoot! I better get over there!” She looked down at the inner tube and back at the Raevan before shoving the tube at him. “Here hold on to that! We’ll talk more about that scope later!” With that the dragon was gone and trying to fight down the competitive wave that filled her.

(Sand n Stuff > Paintball field)

Breaking the water's surface, David inhaled sharply, unaware of how long he had stayed until. He was still in a fairly shallow region of the water so he hadn't worried too much about drowning, but to have completely forgotten the need for air. What an idiot. As he stood up, uncaring if Ebony was still standing near the water's edge angrily or if she had truly departed, he prepared himself for another small dive. ..That is, until he heard the faint blaring of speakers. Furrowing his brow in irritation, he turned around and made his way back to shore. David's relaxation period had been so short and not even that sweet. Grabbing his slick under armour and sunglasses, he forced his sandals on and made his way towards the event. What event was it now? If it was limbo, David had decided to just go back into the water, refusing to remind his sister about the sign ups. Namini was probably all over Josh now anyways-- Wait.

As he received a clearer version of the announcement, David broke out into an insane kind of grin. No, he was obviously mistaken. Approaching the fields and double checking the team rosters, David realized that his relaxation period had just begun. Grabbing a cactus-green sweatband, some of the sleek protective goggles, and a hefty paintball gun, David awaited his greatly anticipated "female" opponent: Josh.

(( Paintball Game ))

Pulling her goggles down over her eyes, Mouse allowed herself a confident smirk as the participants began making their way to the field. This was going to be fun... and to make sure there wasn't going to be any arguing about the winning team afterwards, she had taken the previous weekend to add a small radar device and score display on each paintball gun, so everyone would be aware of how many hits and misses they had gotten.

"Everyone, take your places!" she started, giving people ample time to decide on a hiding place and head there if it suited their fancy.

"Ready... set..."

"GO!!!"

And the green-haired captain with a fruity pink sweatband immediately dashed behind the nearest sandcastle.

.ll Sand N' Suff--> Paintball Field ll.

Josh chuckled as Namini made a nose dive into her own painstakingly crafted hole. He helped her out of the hastily made ditch. “You don’t want to spend time with me anymore?” His lip jutted out in faux grief. Hopefully this would hide the fact that a tinge of pink still graced his cheeks.

"You need some sunscreen. Your face is all pink now."

Josh gave a nervous twitter of a laugh and grinned sheepishly at Namini. “Yeah, sunburn…” He was so grateful that the girl could be this oblivious to the world around her.

Josh stiffened up as the crackle and pop of the loudspeakers came on. Hmm, so paintball was about to start… Josh stood up and once again entangled his own fingers with Namini’s. “You should come cheer me on Chickie.” A brief thought passed his mind as he approached the sand pile filled field. Had David joined the game also? His question was answered as he saw David already equipped and ready to be diploid into 'battle'. Josh skipped with excitement. So he was on the opposite team. This would prove to be interesting...

Josh grabbed his necessary equipment and 'suited up' in a sense. Once on the field, he made sure to shoot at least one glare at David. Yes, he was childish. Alas, the teenager could care less what others thought of him. Right now, he was simply concerned with getting at least one marker on David.

((Beach bar-->paintball field))

Hearing the blaring speakers, Cierra headed over to the paintball field, briefly checking the rosters then arriving at the proper team. Looking around, it seemed like there weren't many of her team mates there yet besides the captain. Suiting up, she grabbed her gun right before the GO announcement blared across the field. Diving behind one of the sand barriers, a small grin came across Cierra's face. This was going to be interesting....

[[Pie Contest >> Paintball Field // Sand n Stuff]]

Aphismet blinked and looked over his shoulder at the announcement. "Ah! Isi, I have to go! Well done with the pies! Now I'll try and go shoot some people in your honor." With a playful laugh and a wave of his hand, Aphi jogged off through the crowd (after of course leaving the crutches near Isi's chair).

The man quickly made his way to the bucket of supplies, grabbing goggles, gun, and colored armbands, then heading over to Mouse's team. He grinned over at Werika's team, playfully competitive. "We'll get you!" he warned, although his words were weak and playful, not nearly as threatening as he'd wanted them to be.

Rivener beamed at the offer that he might be able to borrow the camera! He'd been about to launch into another slew of questions, repeating Where can I get one, and How expensive is it, when a voice announced the gunfight contest beginning. The blue-haired woman shoved her tube at Riv and hurried off, leaving the Raevan blinking in startlement. He usually wouldn't like to just have people leaving their things with him willy-nilly, but if it meant the Camera-Woman would come back, then it was all good! Riv smiled and wrapped an arm around the tube, grinning and waving, hugging the tube to his chest-

There was suddenly a soft pop and a subsequent hissing of air. Rivener blinked, then glanced down. ...One of his rings had snagged on the tube and punctured it. The air was slowly escaping. "Oh..." Riv brought a hand to his mouth, eyebrows curling up in concern. Wh-what should he do?!

((Sand 'n Stuff))

Niksia was, unsurprisingly, jolted from her brief snooze by the announcement for the Paintball game. A slightly evil grin spread across her face as she made sure she had a good view of the playing field. It wasn't cruel to enjoy people hitting each other with paintballs she reasoned, served them right for signing up.

A quick check made sure she wasn't likely to get a stray shot to the forehead, or something equally karma laden. Looking at those still dotted on the beach, one hand shielding her eyes from the sun, Niksia could have sworn she spotted a Raevan she'd met before. Why he'd be holding a swim tube was beyond her, but she waved one gloved hand at him before settling in to watch the game.

((To Paintball fields and at them))

Namini's eyes trailed hesitantly after Josh, knowing clear and well what going to the paintball fields meant: She'd have to pick between her brother and her friend. One would say that she could root for both of them, but sensing the pair's individual level of pride, Namini figured that this would not be smart. They may end up both becoming upset with her. ...Though Josh had been notorious for his forgiving nature. Namini smiled and soon chased after the other brunette. Luckily the event wasn't taking place too far away, and so she wouldn't have to run as far but, there was a small gathering of people. Deciding it was a little too public of a place for her scars, she slid back into her drying hoodie and stepped off to the side. On one side, Namini's cerulean eyes locked onto her statuesque brother, taking note of the sharp green sweatband around his right forearm. On the other side, she glanced over her equally equipped friend, taking note of the melon-shaded band he was wearing.

...Adding an extra precaution, she took another step back as the announcer blared the official start of the event. Namini had enough scars to handle. She wasn't going to take a stray paintball!

David on the other hand was itching for a fight. He had locked eyes with the fiery teen just seconds before the start of the war and David's body was now flooded with adrenaline. He was going to take this kid OUT. With the start of the show, the Chinese male darted like some kind of paid assassin behind one of the sandy shields provided. He looked inside his paintball tank and counted the green gems. Six. He had six tries to get that girly-faced jerkoff. Six snipes to the head, David hoped.

.ll Paintball Field-- Enters the game ll.

Josh gave Namini a polite wave as she raced off away from the field like a startled deer. The tickled pink headband around his wrist slipped down to his elbow as he flicked his arm side to side while doing so; Josh made sure to wrap it around his frail wrist once more so it wouldn’t be a hindrance. It was obvious that Namini didn’t want to be a ringside casualty in this confrontation. However, the boy was pleased to see that she did not wander too far out of his sight. Her being able to witness his every move somehow made the termination of David all the more alluring.

Josh straightened the striking safety goggles on his face, making sure not a hair was out of place. Who knows… he may have to look good in case someone decided to snap a picture while he slaughtered David into little pieces of shattered ego and paint markers. He made a steady path to the main portion of the field, the wide patch of sand were most of the days fun was to be had. Josh dismissively examined in his gun and cringed in fright. Only six shots! Well, this would be a bit more challenging. Nevertheless, the boy was always open for a challenge. As Josh stepped foot on the designated shooting area, he broke into a full out sprint. He dashed and collided smoothly with a barrier, nearly blending in with the surface. His eyes darted beyond the sand wall trying to figure out everyone’s locations. More importantly where the pompous lady-killer, David, had decided to weasel off to.

((Paintball Field))

David heard a soft, sandy shuffling across the battlefields. Hesitant, he wondered if he should take the chance. Before the match had started, David had only witnessed a few players from each team. Josh and another girl were the only ones he saw for Melon's team, though out of the corner of his eye, he saw a few others coming along. David had also seen a foreign blue-haired lady adorn herself with the Cactus's team's color, horns coming out of her head but with legs intact. She wasn't a Raevan..Were the Raevans even allowed to participate? Melon's captain, a short, green haired girl was present as well. He couldn't imagine injuring a strange girl but then again..Josh was strange. And he closely resembled a female. Ah, what the hell.

Standing up from behind his grainy shield, David's stormy eyes locked onto a lucky prey. Josh had just dived behind a sand dune, but David pulled the trigger anyways. Would Lady Luck be on his side?!

From the crowds, Namini was already peeking through her fingers. So much violence already! And that beastly hunger in their eyes. ... Namini could only hope that both would run out of paintballs before actually hitting their target: each other.

((Sand n Stuff))

“Stupid bloody bugger…” Ebony continued muttering to herself as she made her way back up the beach, mostly likely wanting a drink that wasn’t virgin this time. Although she hadn’t looked back, not wanting David to get any false hopes of her still being interested in him, the purple haired woman had slowed down at the announcement that had been made. An evil smirked crossed her tanned features then. ‘Hope that dumb twit gets a good thrashing.’ This thought seemed to calm and brighten her mood once more.

No longer fuming, as she had been moments before, Ebony had taken notice to the tall dark Raevan only a few yards away from her. It was interesting how she could have seen this particular Frei many times over the last several months, yet neither had actually taken to speaking with one another really. Course Ebony only had her mind on one thing most times she was over at the Delarans, and that was Aphismet’s training. Besides, she’d always assumed the scorpion wanted to be left mostly to himself. “Ello Rivener. Enjoying yourself I hope?”

Josh sputtered as he caught a flash of green in the corner of his eye. He was even more startled when he heard the airy snap of a shot being fired. He couldn’t be hit, not this soon in the game! Josh chuckled as David’s shot landed harmlessly off to the side. The small orb of paint didn’t even have the pleasure of exploding. It’s contents were still safely tucked away in its light green shell. Just what he had hoped for! David had now reveled himself. Josh countered the older man’s assault and fired a shot of his own. It wasn’t as well aimed as he had hoped for, considering he was trying to strike David before he could flee back behind a pile of sand.

Josh pulled the trigger and hoped for the best. To be honest, in a game like paintball, that was generally how it was played.

((Paintball ********>," David cursed loudly, returning to his spot behind the sand dune. He looked at his neck and the highlighter pink blood dripping from it. That stupid pansy had got him and yet David had missed! The older male reassured himself though, that it had been a fluke, since well..David had a bad shot anyways. But now, at this little rose-colored price, he also knew where Josh was. Smirking, David prepared himself once again. It didn't matter if it cost him all five bullets. This man demanded a head shot. Bolting from behind his only shield, rushing towards another further up, David threw the gun from his right hand to his left, praying that this time his chances were a little better. Though he was naturally right handed, with his left, he would have a better shot at the boy.

An aggressive click, aimed directly at the boy's neck and head, and David could only hope..

Namini had squealed at Josh's magnificent shot. It was as if karma had gotten her brother back! Though, a part of her felt bad. She would cook him something good tonight to balance out this confusion of feelings. Right now though, her heart seemed to be fluttering like a hummingbird's wings. This kind of event was so..breathtaking!

.ll Paintball Field ll.

Josh heard a shuffle of feet and hugged closer to his dusty barrier. As his back pressed against the sand wall a few chucks seemed to cascade off in a fine spray. Unfortunately, the wind decided that it was then the best time to pick up the pace. The small cloud of dust flew directly in the boy’s face causing him to suffocate and heave. His agile body fell from the wall just in time to miss a lime green paint splatter. Josh fell to his knees choking, but managed to stumble into a ditch for cover. The younger boy collected his breath and peaked over the rim of the ditch, barely allowing any of his head to surface. So David was getting more vicious in his failure. Josh sighed defensively. He had already shot the man so easily… his fun was quickly waning with David. He was like a toy that had lost its luster and splendor.

Josh could just barely see the older man's shoulder past a barrier or two. The boy resurfaced from his ditch to give another poorly aimed shot at David. Just as quickly as he jumped out he dived back in. Hopefully now he could save the rest of his paintballs for more important people.
