"I told you we should have gone the other way!"

"Shut up! I'm older, I make the decisions."

"By five minutes!"

"TWO YEARS and five minutes. Get it right!"

Two children, both seeming to be around ten years old, slowly wandered into the village, bickering. Both had red hair and green eyes, dressed in green and tan travel-worn clothes. The boy had a blueish gray cloth tied around his head, the girl with two in similar coloring tying two bells to her pigtails.

"Why are we going towards the fighting anyway?" the girl complained, crossing her arms and glaring at her companion.

"I told you already! Father left us for some reason. He's probably a soldier in one of these battles so we're going to find him. If we find him, we proly find Mother too."

"But we don't even know what he looks like! How are we going to find him?"

The boy sighed. "Lady Elder said Mother had black hair, but we have red. He has to have red hair too. So we find someone with red hair fighting and we might have found Father."

"We're not going to get hurt though, are we?"

"No, we'll stay away from the fighting. We'll just look for someone with red hair."

There was a pause in conversation as the girl thought it over for a minute before breaking into a smile, the spring back in her step, her bells jingling with every move. Her hand reached out and took hold of the edge of his cloak."I like this idea! You're smart, Liam~"

"Of course I am," he replied with a smirk.

Both of them turned around, wondering who was yelling after them, and merely blinked seeing the toddler there. Liam groaned, having a feeling where this situation was going to end up, but the girl next to him merely smiled widely.

"I'm Harper, and this is my brother Liam," she said proudly, pointing at each in turn. "We're on an adventure! Who are you?"

"Really?" Harper grinned wider. "Then if you're on an adventure too, why-"

"No." Liam cut her off, arms crossed as he glared at his sister.

She glared back. "Yes. If you get to pick where we go, I pick who comes with us. I want Drake to come too."

"But he's just a kid!"

"I want him to come."

"...fine."

With a smug grin on her face, Harper turned back to Drake. "Since we're all on an adventure, let's go together!"

Liam grumbled something about kids and started walking forward again, not noticing his sister making faces at him behind his back.

"We're getting close to the fight," she answered Drake when she started to follow Liam. "But not going into it. Liam's much better than me at fighting, but even he is pretty bad."

"I heard that!" he said, somewhat annoyed, from in front of them. She merely stuck her tongue out at him in response.

Harper shook her head. "I don't think so. I don't fight people. Liam does, but he likes to have a reason. Like fighting the kids who said bad things about our mother." She thought that over for a moment. "So I don't think we're bad people..."

"Our mother and father went away too," Harper said, giving him a sort of half smile. "So Liam and I are looking for them. But let's go find your father now, since you know where he is!"

Liam knew better than to protest that, so he slowed to a stop, grumbling to himself. Why were they dealing with this little kid?

Only a few of the demons fell, but there were still more going through the village. They didn't bother turning back to help their comrades, but were more worried with protecting themselves and doing their job.

The Titan, on the other hand, slow down by about half its original speed. It was powered by a dark energy core mixed in with plenty of souls rather than electricity, and thus its components were built to be sturdy enough to withstand the power. All the electricity did was hamper its functions temporarily, and after a short time it had returned to normal. But the dark energy sphere that it had previously been charging up in the cannon had disintegrated during the attack.

The core was of course surrounded by a protective layer of components to keep the energy stabilized, but it's defenses were far weaker than the armor that the Titan walked in. It wasn't meant to withstand attacks, and thus the sword was able to damage some of the components that stabilized the core. The Titan instinctively knew that it couldn't keep moving forward if its core is destroyed, and it was most likely that it would happen. So, with its last action, it activated its own self destruct sequence. The shell that the energy was in started to expand quickly, then the components appeared to be absorbed right into the core. Normally, with Hell's energy, it would have corrupted most things around it, but in this instance the energy was actually vacuuming things into it, like an indestructible black hole. The gears that were attached were starting to get pulled into the thing, and if the two people didn't move out quickly, they would either be sucked into the thing or crushed within the Titan as its body was being crumpled during the pull.
