Jaeshan examined the bruise on his hand and blinked at it. "Nah, doesn't hurt," he said with a shrug. "That's what I get for being so reckless." He chuckled. "Too bad they don't have the same sort of healing for humans as they do Pokemon," he joked, looking over as the nurse called his name. "Be right back," he said reassuringly, standing up to reclaim his Pokemon. He had to admit that his party felt pretty weird without Mightyena and Victreebel in it, and he wasn't sure if Ryka knew that his Weepinbell had evolved.

He made his way back over, carefully affixing each Pokeball safely to his belt. "So, where were we?" he asked, sitting back down and looking at Ryka. "Got any plans or anything for the next while? Badges? Training? I'm all ears," he said, realizing only after he said it just how lame he sounded.

"How is this accomplished?" Kasiya whispered, poking and prodding at her new face, unaware that someone had came up behind her until they spoke. She uttered a little squeal and practically jumped out of her skin as she turned around, finding herself face to face with possibly one of the most attractive people she had ever laid eyes on. His voice was very respectful, and his demeanor screamed of no-nonsense. "Uh..." she mumbled, looking around somewhat nervously, having not really expected anyone to stop and talk to her. After all, wasn't Mai usually super-b***h scary?

"Good," she told the young man sternly (although he did look to be several years older than Kasiya, and possibly even older than Mai herself), having to work hard to keep the admin's icy tone clear in her voice. She wracked her brain, trying to think of every military-esque film she had ever seen, hoping to draw inspiration from it. She drew a blank however, finding herself without anything to say. How on earth did I get into this situation? she thought, overlooking the Rocket's outfit to see if a name tag of sorts were pinned there, but alas, nothing. Maybe I can see about enforcing a name tag rule or making everyone wear bells so they don't sneak up on people and scare the crap out of them...

"Oh, the ball," Mai repeated slowly, feeling a bit drowsy. It seemed that Kasiya had been busy that day, as her body felt tired, achy and downright exhausted. "Yeah, that's gonna be a lot of fun," she yawned, suddenly having a vague memory of Keegan having asked her to it. Damn, her memories are everywhere, she thought grumpily, opening an eye and looking up at Keegan. Little brat better not be messing around back at the base, her thoughts continued, realizing that the intitial part of her plan had kept her own body subdued while she ran amok in Kasiya's. But perhaps it didn't work that way?

Her mind raced for a reason as to why it hadn't worked the first time, and then she remembered the strange visitor back at the base. She'd been ready to get up in his face if he didn't explain why her Typhlosion fainted just like that, and then when she realized she was in Kasiya's body, her sister had been about ready to clock some bratty pink-haired girl. Tied to our emotions maybe? she mused, closing her eyes again and continuing to rest. A part of her wished that she could end every day like this one, in the arms of someone who genuinely cared for her. "Damn you, Leo..." she murmured, dozing off.

Having almost fallen asleep himself, Keegan was jostled awake by Kasiya's ramblings. "Leo?" he repeated, tapping her on the forehead. "Who is Leo?" She was out at that point though, and he didn't want to wake her. He knew he should get up and claim their Pokemon, but he was too comfortable to move. The sun had long set since they arrived at the Pokemon Center, and with a start he remembered that he was to meet Sheridan and Sheena back at his parents' house. "s**t..." he mumbled, gently getting up off the couch as so not to disturb Kasiya. He gathered his Pokemon, asking the nurse to hold onto Kasiya's for safekeeping until she woke up and he quietly headed outside. The night was cool and refreshing, and he stopped for a moment, letting the wind rustle his hair. He balled his hands up into fists for a moment before he jumped up and let out a shout of joy - a far cry from his usual tormented yells.

There was a bit of a spring in his step as he reached his house, finding that Sheena had fallen asleep on the couch (go figure) and Sheridan had enough of this 'uncivilized land' and had promptly returned home to Lilycove. His parents were out back tending to the Pokemon, so he covered Sheena with a blanket, not really knowing why she was there and went out back. There weren't many words to exchange, but Keegan decided it best to leave Moeder with his parents. From everything they had told him, she was wonderful with all the young Pokemon, and her help was greatly appreciated. Figuring that it would be best to come back here for the night, and seeing as how his mom and dad insisted on it, he reluctantly headed back towards the Pokemon Center, sort of half-dreaded waking up Kasiya. He still couldn't figure out what was up with her,

The Flamethrower must have been not only well aimed, but also a critical hit. The Tauros buckled beneath the raw power of the attack and passed out with a low bellow. Samuel took of his hat and brushed the sweat off of his brow. "Well, toss me onta the grill and cook me 'til well-done!" he placed the hat back on his head and recalled Ross, clipping the ball back to his belt. "It's undastandable why yer bein' so rowdy. Yer a kiddo and a ripe fine traina at that."

Kilik tilted his head. It was over that quickly? Then again, that was a good thing. Jumping slightly at the thought of his Lairon, he recalled Weezing and clipped the ball onto his side again. "Thank you sir, but I really have no time for small talk! Maybe we'll fight again sometime, bye!" Kilik dashed off in the direction of his iron beast, which was rather easy to track: follow the destroyed trees and bushes. He heard a faint "Y'all come back now, ya hear?" from over the distance and he smiled a bit to himself. Maybe that old cowboy wasn't so bad after all.

He kept running, jumping over broken branches and large rocks. His heart pounded in his chest and blood pumped loudly in his ears. Everything went by him in a blur. All he was focused on was finding that Lairon. Suddenly, he stopped running and nearly tripped over a log. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes. "Koga told me to focus..." he whispered, "and then I will be one with my Pokemon."

It never occurred to him when or why he'd ever need the training he received from Master Koga what felt like so long ago. At least, it never did until now. He could hear and feel every movement Lairon executed. With every step the beast took, Kilik felt the ground shake beneath him. Kilik opened his eyes, but he didn't see what he saw before. Instead, a very large Pokemon was in front of him. A Tropius. He dashed headlong into the chest of the prehistoric Pokemon, but it didn't seem to do much. When he was brushed away like nothing, Kilik snapped back into his own reality.

He was shaking. The boy fell to his knees and stared at his quaking hands. "Th-that was it..." he choked out, "I was there. Lairon's fighting that Tropius now!" Being one with his Pokemon. That's what Koga meant. Sure, fighting as one was cutting it, but Kilik (for a fleeting moment) was Lairon. He saw what the beast saw, felt what the behemoth felt. He stood up and brushed himself off, "I've got to get there quick!" once more, he took to running.

Sunfire managed to recover from the attack but he was still under the Attract’s power. Shadow however, was perfectly fine. The small Eevee gave a bark at his team mate, as if to say “Pull yourself together! This is a fight!” as he moved into a Quick Attack which knocked down his recovering sister, Shining. Tsunami was quick to react, however, and hit the male Eevee as he was recovering. Sunfire managed to get over his attraction since he wasn’t attacking the main user and shot off a halfhearted ember that barely nicked Tsunami’s tail. With this turning around fast Mag was prepared to intervene on the male pokemon’s behalf.

“Okay Sunfire, pull yourself together and launch off a team ghost attack against Tsunami!” Once more Sunfire managed to launch off the attack and Shadow quickly formed his Ghostly Hidden Power. “Shining, you’re a normal type so it won’t do any damage to you! Block one of the attacks for Tsunami!” Mag instructed. The Eevee didn’t realize her advantage but skeptically moved to take the Hidden Power for Tsunami; the Vaporeon could take the more powerful attack out with her own moves. The Vaporeon quickly summoned up a Water Gun to blast the Shadow Ball back. But the shadowy orb was stronger than her water and it pushed through nailing the Vaporeon in the face. Shining heroically leapt in the way of the Hidden Power to find that the whole wave dissipated upon her body like a cool breeze, her trainer was correct!

Mag took a glance at his pokemon. They all were all panting but seemed ready to fight on. He also noted the sun was pretty close to being directly overhead, true it was still a little east, but it was most likely 11 o’clock. “Okay guys, that enough training for now. Let’s have an early lunch.” His pokemon all glanced over and with nods they all fell flat on their tummies. “Wow, you’re all silly.” Mag said with a laugh as he watched his pokemon rest. “I’ll get out the food.” Mag went into the small, one room cabin and went to the cabinet, it was stocked as always. He pulled out the pokemon food and four bowls for his pals along with four more trays for fresh water. Mag also grabbed a sandwich for himself and went outside. His four pokemon were resting in the shade near the house and the old cot that somehow managed to hang between two large oak trees. Mag set down the food for each pokemon and the pulled himself onto the cot where he could eat.

Lenalee released Cagomarg as she stepped off the front porch. The slug pokemon quickly oozed its way up to her shoulder, it was a strange feeling having a blob of magma moving up your body, but Cagomarg was pleasantly warm and kept himself together very well whilst riding upon Lenalee. He would keep an eye out for stray pokemon as she hiked up the hills to find Mag. Lenalee was tired of chasing after him by this point, they had reunited and now he was off on his own again. This time she would have to say goodbye and start her own training. There was no point going with your friend if they were too busy to travel with you!

“Well Cagomarg, where do you think we should travel to after we meet up with Mag?” The Slugma looked at his trainer before shouting a happy “SLUUUU!” Lenalee sighed, he was never very helpful when she asked questions but at least Cagomarg had a good attitude. “Thanks for the advice I guess.” Lenalee mumbled as she pressed onward.

As Mike closed his eyes, he took a deep breath inward, attempting to mirror Napalm's intense inhalation during his last battle. As he pushed the air out slowly, the usual hustle and bustle of the city began to fade away. His mind slowed down to a more acceptable pace, his usually brimming and bustling brain becoming more stoic and calm. Mental images drifted by, the boy's subconscious lightly picking them out and examining them. The scene just recently with the groups confrontation with Mensker floated by; Mike wondered how Nina was doing. It had been a while since he'd talked to her.

He then remembered Kasiya's bright and chipper demeanor, and he felt a slight sense of elation. He couldn't wait to see her again, even if the last time he'd seen her was just a day or so ago. Keegan's usual stern and frustrated face flashed before him, but it was the Keegan of years ago. He looked angry, almost like he was shouting at someone.

"I can't believe you won't think this through! You're getting yourself into more trouble than you can deal with!"

Like hell he was, he knew what he was doing. Keegan was just lazy, not willing to step up when his home needed protection. Did he even care about what happened? Probably not, he was always a grumpy lonely sourpuss. He didn't know what it felt like to love someone, to have every strand of your being want the safety and well being of another like Mike did. Flannery's brilliant smile and beautiful long hair filled the boy's mind, soothing him back to a peaceful mindset. She always made him feel better when he was upset. After a moment of silence, the blackness of his mind brightened up, and Mike then felt himself in the very same Pokemon Center he had started his meditation in. Portabello wasn't there, nor was Nurse Joy. Odd. The boy walked outside, the town was empty, not a single person could be seen. Where did everyone go? It was the middle of the day. This was getting really weird. As if on cue, the sky slowly darkened until a chilling cloudless night was laid out before him. Nothing good was going to come of this, he was sure of it.

Then, a ear splitting sound. An explosion!? No, an earthquake! Mike saw the ground beneath him tear like a frustrated artist's rejected sketch as rocks the size of cars were sent flying as if they were nothing. Houses and other buildings crumbled and collapsed around him as screams of terror filled the air. Where were those voices coming from?! Thunder split open the sky with blinding light, causing the boy to shield his eyes. When he lowered his arm to see, there stood before him two shadowy figures. They were huge! Larger than the buildings! We those Pokemon?! One glowed an outline of crimson red, the other, an ocean blue. The red one opened his mouth, releasing a terrifying roar that seemed to shake the earth itself. The blue one replied with a high pitched shriek, lifting up what appeared to be large hands as the biggest tidal wave he'd ever seen rose up from the sea. Mike opened his mouth to scream, but was drowned out by the hundreds of other voices that called out in terror at the oncoming tsunami. The red one hopped into the air, landing with a mighty crash, a tremor opening up in front of him. A large skyscraper that once stood proudly snapped like a twig and plummeted to the ground in the wake of the battle, a wall of earth shooting up in its place to block the raging wave. The wall of water slammed against the barrier, the rocky wall preventing the red creature from getting swept away. However, the rest of it shot past the barrier, heading straight for Mike! The force of the water smashed windows and churned the very earth beneath it as it sped across the land, showing no signs of stopping. The boy could only stand there in frozen terror as the wave towered above him and dropped.

He slammed his eyes shut. For the first time since he entered this insanity, he heard himself scream.

His eyes shot open. It was bright. He couldn't see! He screamed and clawed at the nearest object. It was stringy and rough, a familiar texture. "Portabello!" Mike screamed, gasping for air as his vision slowly returned to him.

Kilik slid to a halt in the middle of a large custom made field. Custom because it was created from clearing out dozens of trees to make a large circle. He panted, wiping the sweat off of his brow. A smile spread across his face because sure enough his Lairon was in this field. The beast paused, looking over to see his trainer. He roared and stamped his foot into the ground. He turned his attention to the large Tropius in front of him. He didn't mean to attack the poor creature. While venting his rage from his near death experience a while ago, Lairon took it out on the now broken trees that lay around him.

However, one of them wasn't exactly a tree. Tropius had been standing all by himself, minding his own business when all of a sudden what felt like a train smashed into him. Now the two were in a tussle. Lairon was so very tired. Dings in his armor were even more evident than ever. His body shook from the strain.
"Lairon, let's go," Kilik demanded, taking a step forward. "You're in no condition to keep fighting. We need to---" he was cut off by a loud roar from his Pokemon. No. There was no chance he was leaving now. One of these Pokemon was going to faint and it was for sure going to be decided in this next move.

Kilik bit his lip. He didn't want to watch, but he knew he had to. Interfering with his Lairon's battle could be drastic and dangerous. The beast charged forward with what looked to Kilik like a Take Down. However, like in the Aqua Base, his headplate began to shine brightly as he slammed headstrong into Tropius. The prehistoric Pokemon took a fall, right before he was able to execute his Giga Drain. The beast stepped on Tropius' neck and let out a loud roar. Swiftly, before any more damage could be dealt, Kilik recalled his Lairon. Finally with his powerhouse in hand, the boy strapped the ball back to his belt. He took a quick glance at Tropius, debating on throwing a ball to catch it or not.

He decided against it and in the blink of an eye, he was flying on Bahamut, on his way to the Lilycove Pokemon Center.

Poof! and just like that Mitsu had somehow appeared on the back of an orange dragon's back flying speedily over the sea and land. It was as if she had just come back from the dead, now appearing after a long disapperance. She wondered how long it had been and if her friends would still recognize her. Her purple hair had darkened to a deeper purple, almost bordering on ebony. It was cropped a bit shorter than it's usual length and way layered in a way to give the illusion that the hairs closest to her face were significantly shorter than the rest. Her skin had turned just a shade more pale from beeing cooped up indoor reading book after book and legend after legend hardly getting anywhere in the process. Amazingly she had grown a few inches and now wasn't quite as dwarfed by her friends as before. Her clothes remained pretty much the same except for the spare outfits and swim suit she had packed into her brown bag.

"Touya, where are you bringing me?" Mitsu demanded looking around the boy's shoulder. Sand spotted the deep blues of the ocean now and she could barely make out umbrellas in the distance.
"Just shut up and wait already would you?" Touya sighed. Mitsu's incessant whinning had gotten on his nerves thus urging his Dragonite to fly faster. Faster! Faster! Faster! Only if he could, Touya thought.

The beach began to near and just as they touched the mainland Touya commanded his Pokemon to halt. Dragonite landed on the fringe of the beach where the sand and the salty sea water met with the constant whoosh, the constant to and fro of the ocean tugging at the sandy shores. "Just enjoy yourself all right? I know you've been alone for a while but just meet up with some of your friends or something," Touya commented. And for a minute Mitsu actually believe him to be truely nice and caring without some of his usual snarky remarks, but alas he had to always one-up her. " Beside you need the sun. You're too pale!"

"And just call me if you really need anything," her brother added, stressing the word really and placing as much emphasis as he possibly could in it. "Anyways see ya later. I might swing by for the party, but don't count on it!" And with that departing comment he soared off into the sky at rocket speed on his orange Pokemon. "Party?!" Mitsu cried, "What party Touya! Get back here!" Mitsu screamed shaking her fist at her brother. Of course it'd be so like him to set her up like this. She quietly fumed at the shore line before turning around to find out where he had dropped her off.

"Hmm. Seems like you've been bested once again Mitsu," the voice spoke, chuckling at her misfortune. "Oh, can it Karri," Mitsu said rolling her eyes at her Pokemon. "I'm sure you knew about this all along?"

"Of coure Mitsu. I'm Psychic. I can read minds. Not that I had to, Touya and I had been in on this for a while now," Karri giggled once more. The elegant Gardevior laughed, twirling around, "Seriously Mitsu. Just make the best of it." Mitsu sighed, giving up before walking up the shore. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad after all.

Giovanni paused where he was. "An open seat? And they want me?" he turned around. The way Ampersand was wording everything made it sound as if he were practically handing him limitless power. Something he, in a way, already had. "Let me ask you something, Ampersand. Should I refuse, what's stopping me from announcing your existence to the entire world?" a smirk appeared on his face, "That was a risk you must've known you'd take the moment you opened your mouth. However, as a man of my word, I will not speak of you or your group to anyone outside these walls." He paced for a moment and continued to glaze it over in his mind.

Stop things from happening? Find out things before anyone else? It'd be like running the world on his fingertips, and could possibly give him leverage to finally beat out those blasted kids. He ran a hand over his smooth chin and sighed. "You're telling me that I can get whatever it is I want?" he walked behind his desk and placed both hands palm down onto it. "And it's practically handed to me on a silver platter?" It all sounded so inviting, so welcoming so...absolutely worth it.

Yet in the back of his mind, he knew. There was no thrill in getting everything you'd ask for right when you asked for it. Sure, his Grunts all worshiped the ground he walked on and though they didn't completely comply the moment an order was given, they got it done. And those kids...those kids were his competition. They were a driving force. Without them, without an antagonist to Giovanni's protagonist, where would the spice be. As much as he hated to admit it, and he never would out loud, he needed those kids to survive. "I'm sorry, sir. But I'm going to decline that offer and send you on your way."

Jaxon raised a brow at Mai's actions. That was... unusual, to say the least. Perhaps she had been that deeply in thought? Otherwise, there would be no way that she wouldn't have noticed him coming up; he himself was reflected in that mirror too, so that was a give away at the very least. But Mai squealing? "My apologies, miss," he said, frowning as he watched her expression. What was she so fidgety about? Before he could ask if there was anything the matter, though, it seemed as though Mai had regained her usual, cool composure. Of course she would, he sighed inwardly, conflicting thoughts and feelings tip-toeing sluggishly through his being. Over time, he had sufficiently crippled his own emotions to the point that they hardly influenced his being or actions. They could not be killed off entirely, but they sure as hell didn't distract him from his work... at least not more than a second.

"Well, is that all then?" he continued seamlessly, impassively.

The family decided to make it beach rugby, since that would mix things up some. Running on sand made the game more than a touch more difficult.

"Wow... it's so pretty out here!" M.A. said, smiling as she felt the cooling sand between her toes, the shoreline rolling in and out some meters away with a soothing sound. The sun was setting across the ocean, a ball of fire slowly withdrawing and submitting to the sea. Its work was done for the day, and it was as if it was bidding farewell, slipping as slowly as it was. She briefly mused on that orange sun, a slow epiphany coming to her; there was so many people and Pokemon that orb had smiled upon today, each doing their own thing, living their own lives, and she herself was only a minuscule fragment of that. Every person was just a sliver of the big picture that was the world, even though individually they were in the center of their own worlds. But in the end, no matter what happened, the tide would still break, the sun would still rise...

Michael's voice snapped her out of her reverie. "Ah, what a gorgeous Gardevoir that girl's got there. Haven't seen one of those since my last contest." M.A. swung around and idly thought that the Pokemon and her trainer looked familiar. Although her face was half turned away, M.A.'s sharp eyes noted that the person looked like someone she'd met before... Purple eyes, and those clothes...

"Mitsu?" she called out, a bit surprised. Part of her was expecting the stranger not to reply and to prove her wrong, but part of her anticipated that it was, indeed, her friend.

Kasiya studied the Rocket closely, a bit surprised by his detached demeanor. Are all Rockets this cut-off? she thought, remembering that Mai rarely displayed emotions other than anger and hatred herself. She studied Jaxon for a few moments, guessing that in order to have earned his rank he must be a prominent trainer, and a part of her felt bad for him - all that talent would be wasted, spending it here in Team Rocket. She couldn't say the same for Mai (as she had never seen her sister battle) but she did know that the woman was indeed strong as a person. Definitely cold-hearted, mean-spirited and a complete and total b***h, yet she was strong.

Kasiya sighed, pushing the white-blonde hair from her eyes and tucking it behind her ear (something she'd seen Mai do when the two weren't screaming at each other, at least). "Yes, that is all," she said, nodding slowly. A flash seemed to pass through her memory, and suddenly she knew the Rocket's name, and a little bit about him. "Actually," she said, an idea popping to mind, "I'm feeling a little under the weather this evening, and I was hoping you would be a gentleman and escort me to my quarters, Jaxon," she said somewhat coyly, passing a hand over her forehead. It was true though; all this body-changing was physically and mentally exhausting. Her head was throbbing and she hoped that Mai wasn't one of those people who refused to take Advil.

"Alex where did you put my bag!" Serenity ran back up the stairs to her sister's room, only to find that her sister wasn't there and neither was her already packed bag. "ALEX!" Sere turned and headed back down the stairs and into the kitchen. She was careful not to step on the Jigglypuff and Hapiny that were making their way through. Serenity was used to dodging pokemon around her house, so much so that her long blonde hair was rarely out of the braid it was now in. Too many flying pokemon around to get caught up in it. "Seriously Alex I want to get going."

She turned the corner to the living room and found her sister sitting on the couch with the bag held up in the air waiting for Serenity to take it. Sere snatched the bag from her sister's out-stretched arm and started to go through it making sure that everything she needed was still there

******

Alex listened as her sister thumped around upstiars looking for her already packed bag to take with her on her trip. When she had finally figured out where Alex was, Alex thought that Serenity was going to start beating her with the bag. Alex had already gone on one of these trips herself and was taking great joy in riling up her younger sister.

"Calm down Sere, everything is in there. You'll be fine." She was going to miss having Sere around to bug, but she was glad that the youngest in the family was finally getting the chance to go out and make a name for her self as a trainer.
PostPosted: Tue Jun 24, 2008 8:54 am

Serenity gave Alex a quick hug as she left the house. It was quite a sight, other than her sister there were about 10 pokemon on the front step waving good by. Some day soon there will be more to add to that brood. Many more hopefully. She thought as she turned back to wave.

Sere had a strange feeling come over her as she passed through the town she had grown up in. She was always a bit of a spaz but still she got the feeling that she might never be back here again. When she got to the 'Welcome to Lilycove' sign she had to stop and let her mudkip out of it's pokeball. George bounced on the ground before her and looked up at her curiously.

"You need to keep me company now. This is my first time away from home and I'm afraid of people, and talk too my self too often. If you're here I'll look slightly less insane." Sere explained. The mudkip gave her a bit of a smile then bounced over to take a spot right next to the slightly neurotic trainer. "Besides there is no better way to become friends."

The mudkip had several discussions with the other pokemon that had beenin the house before embarking on this journey with his trainer. He had come to realize that she was a little strange but that was too be expected growing up in a house that was filled with pokemon. All of the others in the house agreed that she was loving and would make an excelent trainer, so if she wanted him to walk with her so she could talk out loud to someone that was actually there, then that was what he would do.

((Heh, Mike is in the Lilycove Center Mel', just in case you would like some temporary company))

The Breloom was forcefully and quite literally yanked from his tranquil state by his trainer, the boy almost pulling the Pokemon's fine grassy fur right out of his cap. Portabello stifled a shriek of pain as he flailed around, trying to pry the hysteric boy from his head. Master! The Pokemon exclaimed. I ask that you please release me! You're about ready to pull my head clean off! Unfortunately his cries were not reaching Mike's mind. Perhaps he couldn't hear him? Finding no other option, the Breloom lifted up his tail, silently apologizing before whacking the boy upside the head.

With that Mike let go, yelling out and clutching his head. "Ow..." He moaned, slowly rubbing the sore spot, happy to see he wasn't bleeding. "Sorry P.B. I just had an absolutely...vivid experience and I just got scared that's all."

I noticed. retorted the Pokemon, also rubbing his head. I could sense that you were stressed a bit before you started freaking out, but I didn't know a vision like that would cause you t-

"How did you know what I saw?" Mike asked with a somewhat annoyed tone. "P.B., you didn't read my mind did you? You know I don't like it when you do that."

Well... Portabello's lack of a response only made Mike more frustrated. I-it was only for a moment, and to be honest, I was rather shaken up myself by it. The Breloom looked around nervously, not wanting to look his trainer in the eye. It looked like that was not a vision but a memory. Master, is there something you wish to tell m-

"No." Mike's response was uncharacteristically stern. Portabello had never heard him like that. To be honest, he was concerned, and a little frightened. "Listen P.B., I had a life before I met you, before I was a trainer." He sighed, obviously this wasn't a subject he was comfortable addressing. "There are things about me that you don't know. I did something very, very stupid. Something that I don't wish to discuss anytime soon." The boy closed his eyes, the vision was still lingering in the back of his mind. "Portabello, I need you to promise me that you won't try to find out what that certain something is." Mike rose from his spot on the floor, brushing himself off. "Because if I notice you fishing around in there, I won't be happy. Now let's leave this matter be and go on like it didn't happen." He cast a very serious gaze down at his Pokemon, making sure he got the message. "Understood?"

Portabello slowly nodded. Understood master...

"Good." said the boy, pushing out another deep sigh, his expression becoming more pleasant, more normal. "You must understand P.B., it's just one of those things that you did in the past that you regret but can't change. I'm sorry that I spoke to you that way, you didn't deserve it." Leaning over, Mike gently rubbed the spot on his Pokemon's cap that he had grabbed so viciously.

Mike's hands were warm. He must have recently used those magic gloves of his. It felt nice and soon the initial soreness on his cap had faded away. Portabello smiled and looked up to his trainer. Certainly master, started the Breloom, pushing himself up as well. Although, I cannot deny that I am very curious about this whole thing.

"So am I P.B." replied the boy. "So am I."
