Emerwyn shared Amaya's sadness, but at the same time, couldn't ignore the hard looks she was giving Thorn. They obviously did not get along.
She glanced over at Thorn, now gorging her food. What she said made her nervous, but she was pretty sure Julian's case was unique. "I don't know," she said in response. "I've seen other people who have begun transforming. They seemed pretty sane to me." She tried to sound casual, when she was actually feeling quite overwhelmed.

"I don't think he was entirly stable to begin with. It pushed him over the edge... poor guy." Amaya sighed again, keeping her eyes on her lap and curling her toes a little bit. Gradually she was getting a feel for how her new feet worked. "He shouldn't be here." Realizing she had been sitting in the cafeteria the entire day, she stood up and grabbed a salad along with another bottled water before sitting back down.

Thorn continued to gorge her food down. "No, he wasn't stable at all but he knew how to keep his mind sane enough." She added with her mouth full. "But he should be fine, just needs to get used to things, maybe some medication would help." she had just learned about all sorts of wonderful medications available for mental disorders. Oddly enough no one ever suggested she take any.
"They seriously need a shrink on this island." Maybe she could get Moreau to kidnap one...

She nodded in agreement with both of them. What she did not agree with, however, was Thorn's suggestion of medication. She didn't like doctors. And the idea of medication was too unnatural. "I think we have enough doctors here..." Emerwyn's anger was showing through again. She hoped she would not get carried away.

The young girl just managed a sigh at Thorn, the anger having melted away as quickly as it came. In the back of her mind she was still worried about that sudden outburst... she never got like that. She nibbled at her salad and pushed around the greens, her scales starting to take on a duller colour rather slowly. Being in the air conditioned building the entire day was really sucking the heat and energy out of her.
"I dunno, it might help to bring a shrink here... for Julian's sake." Gaze shifted over to Emerwyn for her oppinion, looking rather tired and worn out.

Lauren nodded in agreement to Emerwyn's statement. Doctor Moreau was doctor enough to take care of the whole island! If anyone could take care of Julian's problem he could.
But then right after that brilliant statement, Amaya suggested bringing a shrink here again. But wasn't that what Lauren was trying to say. Man she was just so confused. This socialisation thing never came naturally.
She resorted to a slight nod towards both as her cheeks were stuffed making her look like an anorexic chipmunk who just quit the whole anorexic thing.

"Well, I guess my opinion wouldn't be worth much in this case." She wondered if going to see a doctor when Ketta had suggested it would have been a good idea. She ran her hand up and down her cheek. It was clammy, and no doubt getting paler. She hadn't touched her salad yet. She couldn't bring herself to.

Gradually Amaya was putting a dent in her salad. After she had finished this she would definatly have to head home and... bask a little bit, even though she hated having to give in to urges that weren't her own just to stay alive. She wondered what would happen if she didn't bask or stay in the heat... would she freeze to death?
"I don't think any of us really have a say in the matter anyway." She gave a weak shrug. God, she felt anemic.

"Don't say that! Your opinion always matters even if people do disagree." Thorn happened to be a very opinionated individual so hated it when people put away their own thoughts to please others.
"I'll do it! I'll suggest it." Thorn said with her mouth full. She filed that away into her memory banks for later.
Between bites she noticed Amaya's sudden weakness. "are you alright? You look pale..." She hoped the girl wasn't going to throw up her salad all over the table.

"Well, that's kind of ironic. If you'd like to know what I think... I don't like the idea of having any more doctors here. As much as I have concern for Julian, I don't think any doctor Moreau finds will be of good repute... I have no trust for doctors at all, and this experience is only making it worse." Her voice faded with every word, but it did not seem so, because of the passion with which she spoke. Amaya was not the only one feeling sick. Emerwyn knew she wasn't going to last much longer. She was about to pass out like Julian. She tried to say something else, but her throat closed up.

"Thanks." She gave a slight smile and took another bite of her salad. "Nope. I've been in here all day in the air conditioning. I'm cold blooded now so I gotta leave after I finish this else I won't be able to drag myself back to my duplex." Amaya gave a slight laugh, her attitude matching her tempature.
"You've got a point, Emerwyn..." She would have elaborated, but her mind was in slow-mo and she couldn't think of anything at the moment. "Are you feeling okay?" The woman looked pretty pale too.

Lauren looked a little frightened as her two lunch buddies had looked like they were going to throw up. She put her food aside, deciding not to eat the rest. Damn lunch ladies.
"I don't know, I like Moreau but I think he might be able to fix the problem himself. I'm sure he knows something about psychology, or maybe Madison could help?" Thorn had never met Madison but she knew that Moreau's genes had to make her a good person. The scary part was she was being completely honest, "Can't go against my own advice." She explained almost apologetically to Emerwyn who had just almost thrown up over thinking about Moreau.

Emerwyn grimaced. She didn't think it was possible that anyone could like that deceitful, slimy, disgusting....... Not wanting to reply, she made a small noise. She didn't know whjo Madison was, but if she had anything to do with Moreau, than Emerwyn wanted nothign to do with her.
"I've felt worse," she said to Amaya. "But thanks."

"Anyway, I'm gonna call it a night." Amaya finished off her salad and pushed herself to a stand. Jeeze, it was hard walking on tiptoe when you felt like you were going to fall over. "I'll see you two later and I hope ya feel better, Emerwyn." Giving a wave, she bussed her tray and headed back to her duplex.

"See ya Amaya, get some sun or something, Iguana's need that." Thorn said as Amaya left. Thorn looked at her watch with some surprise as the conversation seemed to be going towards the gloom. "AHH! Look, I'm late, geuss I'm going too. Neat ta meet cha Emerwyn! Sorry that I have to be off so quick but duty calls." She didn't say exactly what.
She left her tray rudely there as her lanky frame ran off to the lab for another lesson. Maybe she could ask to see Amaya's transformation again... for research.
Thorn grinned widely at that thought.
