Lin looked worried, she didn't even know elves could go into a state of shock. She scrambled onto Elros' hand, trusting him to help her.
"She is going to be okay?" Lin asked.

Elros nodded and lifted Lin to his shoulder. "I'm sure she'll be all right once she gets some rest," he assured her, kneeling to lift Serenity in his arms. "I just wish I knew what was going on ..."
He lifted Serenity and started towards the ranch house. "Perhaps Lord Elrohir will be able to tell us," he murmured thoughtfully.

Lin nodded, "And maybe Cindy can help, she's good at looking after people and stuffs."
Or maybe Triton knew what was going on, wasn't he still in the ranch house anyhow?

"Cindy?" Elros repeated in a questioning tone, glancing at Lin as he approached the door.
There, he had a bit of a dilemma ... he was carrying Serenity with both hands, and the doors opened towards the outside ...
"Now what," he muttered to himself. He glanced at Lin again, then stood sideways so that she was right beside the door.
"Care to knock for me?" he requested.
He was after all too tall to kneel and let her open the door for him, so this was the best thing he could think of.

Lin nodded as she leaned forward to reach the door carefully as close as she could before pounding on it, since her hands were small and she didn't think the person on the other side could hear very well.

Cindy in the mean time had gotten Triton to help her put the things away since he wasn't doing anything. As she was taking stock of the medicial supplies and Triton was putting away the toys they heard the knock. She tilted her head for a moment before sliding out of the desk she was sitting and made her way towards the front.
It was odd since not many people normally had to knock and the knock sound hard even though it was soft sounding. She opened the door and looked up, or rather had to crane her neck up.
"Ah..."

Haradhel had gone upstairs for a rest, but Elrohir was also still in the house, and he also made his way to the door to see who it was. Cindy, however, had beaten him there, and as he headed over he called, "Who is it?"
It was strange, after all, that someone should have knocked at all - normally if someone wanted to talk to him they just wandered on in.
He blinked when he saw who it was. "Elros!" he exclaimed in surprise (the man had never come to the house before). "What ..."
He looked at the person Elros was carrying, and his eyes grew wide. "Mother?"

Elros cleared his throat awkwardly.
"I'm sorry, my Lord," he said apologetically, "but Lin and I were talking to her and apparently something we said put her into shock ... is there somewhere I can put her where she can get warm again, and rest? Spare bed perhaps?"

"She just went all pale like," Lin added.
Since she didn't know at all what was wrong with Serenity, she thought what they were talking about was perfectly normal.

Cindy blinked as she moved out of the way to let Elros in, "Sorry, I'm blocking the way, come in. Most of the bedrooms are empty, and there had been room set aside for guests just in case."
Though she was sure this wasn't what most had in mind when they meant guests just in case.

"This way," Elrohir nodded. "Follow me."
He led Elros towards the stairs, since even the closest beds were on the second floor.
Once they were there, he asked, "What were you talking about, anyways?" His expression was both concerned and puzzled. "It must have been something ... I don't know, unexpected, or ... what ..."

"We were talking about you, actually," Elros replied, laying Serenity carefully on the bed and stepping back so that someone else could take over - someone who really knew what they were doing. He looked at Elrohir. "We mentioned that you were here, and she tried to leave ... she didn't want to say why, but then when Lin mentioned Lady Haradhel, and then the fact that she is expecting a child ..."
He shrugged and looked down at her pointedly.

Cindy stepped foward and checked Serenity's temperture with the back of her hand. She didn't really expect it to be hot or anything like that, but better safe than sorry she always thought. Perhaps a nice cool towel would help her along.
"Well she has been through a lot," Cindy finally spoke up, "I'm going to get a towel and a basin of water."

Elrohir blinked at Elros. "That ... might have done it," he murmured softly, grabbing a chair from the desk across the room and sitting next to his mother. He took her hand and started rubbing it gently, trying to warm it again.
He looked up at Elros and Lin. "I haven't seen her since I was eleven years old ... and I'm nothing like I was back then. And if you told her flat out that I'm married and I'm going to be a father ..."
That would do it, definitely.

"I see," Elros murmured softly, his looking down at Serenity again, his gaze filled with pity. He took Lin from his shoulder and held her in the crook of his arm once more.
Serenity meanwhile was still quite white, and her eyes, though open and moving slowly around the room, didn't seem to be able to focus on anything. Their soft brown colour was slowly growing lighter and changing to green ... and then they passed green and started towards yellow ...
