Loralei stopped dead in her tracks. "I've told you before..." She turned to face Alucard. "You are not to drink the citizens' blood. Zasha will find a way to kill you... and though I dislike you, I still have to take care of you because of my promise. If you're that hungry, go suck on an animal." She slammed the door as she walked out. Not two seconds later, it burst open again. "And a simple 'thank you' would be nice." Loralei crossed her arms in front of her.

Alucard leaned forward, "Though your efforts may fail, I appreciate you going out to purchase the coffee for me, somewhat. That is all the thanks you will hear from me.."
Alucard crossed his arms and leaned back into the chair.

Loralei blinked furiously, startled. She wasn't expecting even that much. "Oh. I.. you're welcome?" Loralei shook her head in confusion. Because he seemed to actually attempt at being nice, Loralei figured that she should attempt as well. "I suppose there's no chance you'd like to come to see the market in daylight, is there...?"

Loralei grunted. "See if I care..." She sighed, as she walked out the door. "Just trying to be nice..."
She shut the door quietly behind her and made her way to the marketplace, searching for the exotic stand. "He wants expensive coffee, I'll give him expensive coffee..."

He noticed the sweets that were left-over and walked over to them. He gazed down at the selection, "..."

"Can I have the most expensive, fine coffee that you have?" Loralei asked the shopkeeper nervously. He looked up sharply, as if he was suspicious of her. "Please?"
"What do you want it for?" He barked at her, and she bit her lip.
"Um... my friend... he's from... out of town and he prefers fine coffee..." Loralei stammered. She hated coming into the herbal apothecary...

Alucard looked through the kitchen for a fork and finally found the utensils in a drawer. He went back and started to eat one of the pastries in small bites. He was enjoying it, and savored every bite. but he kept looking up at the door to make sure that Loralei wouldn't pop in while he was eating what was there.

Loralei slammed through the door and made her way into the kitchen with a big bag of the expensive, exotic coffee in her hand. What she saw made her fall back with surprise. "You're... eating. A pastry. I thought you didn't like sweets...?"
Actually, she knew full well that he liked sweets. Alucard didn't seem to remember that night though...

Alucard was caught off guard and was in the middle of nibbling, and dropped the fork he was holding. Then he picked it up and threw it across the room, "I don't... I was sick and tired of having to wait for you and had to do something or else I'd topple over from boredom.. I was merely testing the quality of the food that you possess."
Alucard walked back out and returned to sitting in the chair he was earlier. He folded his fingers together and leaned forward, "You bought the coffee, right?"

Loralei smirked. "Uh huh. Sure. We'll go with that..." She shook her head, tossing the coffee at him. "Hopefully this is good enough. I had to pretty much slaughter the coffee vendor to get it..." Loralei shuddered to think about it...

"Then you could have hauled his body back here.." Alucard caught the bag and opened it. He smelled it, and then grabbed a few grounds to taste. When he put them into his mouth he closed his eyes and was silent for a moment. then he opened his eyes again, "This is acceptable. Now go boil some water."
