Tsuki mumbled a low "good morning" to the teacher, then waved back to Chyna, not having as much enthusiasm as she did. After a few moments of nothing, she took out the book she had started in the library; the book she had been reading that morning was already completed. Instantly, the expression in her eyes changed from aloof and distant to absorbed and passionate. The green in her eyes was brighter, and she seemed more alive.
Her only true friends were books, after all.

“Zephrine is my elemental companion and have no fear, I will discuss the reading chapters once class begins.” Leah replied and right afterwards the bell for class to commence, rang.
Leah gently placed a copy of ‘Mythical Creatures’ on Tsuki’s desk then turned to head back up the flight of stairs. She stood in front of her desk and made a ‘ahem’ then began, “Welcome to the MYTHICAL CREATURES Elective, I will be your professor and you may address me as Professor Montoya or Ms. Montoya.”
Leah picked up a copy of the textbook and announced, “These books I have handed out will be our text for this course. Please take care of them, as you can see they are brand new, very well made and have leather binding. I trust you will not damage them. Now since elective classes are where elemental students mix, I would like each of you to introduce yourself and tell me why you chose this class.” She smiled. "Since there are only the two of you at this moment, it will be quick and then we can begin our introductory lesson. Now who would like to go first?”

Tsuki looked at the book place in front of her, eying it with an interest. She took the book into her hands and admired its craftsmanship. Still holding onto the book, she looked up as the teacher began to introduce herself. Once she began to speak, Tsuki went back to analyzing the book. She flipped through the pages and was about to comment on the intricate detail in the illustrations when the teacher gave her spectacular news. 'We can keep them for the year?' she thought, elated at the thought. Of COURSE she would take care of them!
She held the book close to her with crossed arms as she looked around at the room. 'Wow...it IS just me and Chyna here...weird.' After a few moments, she raised her hand and began to speak.
"Actually, we already know each other, but for your sake, I'll introduce myself," she began, not trying to sound rude. "I'm Tsuki Kohana, born and raised in Japan, and I moved to America as a kid. I know English and Japanese fluently," she said in a neutral tone, going as far into her past as she would ever go. "I chose this elective because, frankly, I didn't want to take a physical class, and Biology sounds boring. I tried Advanced Physics, and that was also boring," she said. Normally, school was her pride, but she only found enjoyment in language arts and learning more about her element. Hopefully, she wound enjoy this class as well.

Akira got up as the bell rang and started to walk around. Hm. Where is one of those lists with the classes on them. She thought to herself. She was sure of what classes she wanted to take. She just didn't know where any of them were. Akira sighed. "I wonder if anyone knows where the music room is..." She mused out loud as she walked down the hallway.

After hearing Tsuki, she introduced herself.
"I'm Chyna Rose. I was born and raised in America, though at my older schools I learned how to speak German. I chose this elective because I didn't want the same teacher twice, so not Physical Education. Ninjutsu is a bit too...active and painful for me to enjoy. Biology seemed interesting enough but I decided on Mythical Creatures instead. I'm not good with Physics so I definitely didn't want to do Advanced Physics."
She was glad that there was only herself and Tsuki. She liked having classes with smaller amounts of people. It made her feel like she knew people there and wasn't oblivious to some. She felt at home...or at least it had a homey feeling. She knew everybody there, and from her experiance, they weren't mean or anything. She flipped around the cover of her textbook as she waited for further instruction.

Just as Chyna finished talking, Phenia bursted into the room gasping for air….”We made it! Sorry Ms. Montoya we were all the way out on the other side of the grass area playing soccer until we realized what time it was and could barely hear the 5 minute warning bell” she wheezed with a flushed face from sprinting. Behind her was Amir, a tall young man who grinned apologetically at Leah. He was one of her exceptional Expert Air students. Both students were wearing white sneakers with black shorts, though Phenia wore a dark blue sport shirt, and Amir wore a white one. “Ah, Miss Siren and Mr. Delafote, please take a seat and next time don’t stray to far in the field or have a time keeper. Now, we were just starting introductions. Thank you Miss Kohana and Miss Rose, I hope I will not disappoint the two of you. Now who would like to go next?” Leah asked and saw Phenia’s right hand jump up while her left collected water from the air and condensed it into a cup like shape, just as Jake had done, it was a cup of water without the glass. “Miss. Siren.”
“Okay dokay, well my name is Phenia Siren, I’m 18 years old and have a twin sister named Lilith who is in Biology right now. I’m an Expert Water Bender and I hope to work at the New York Aquarium, which has over 8,000 animals. Ms. Liriale Montoya helped me arrange an interview for an internship there, so that is where I hope to move on after Graduation. I’ve already have taken Biology and the other electives before and saw this new course so I joined. Hmmm, what else, I’m from Greece and half Japanese, born and lived in Athens before we moved to America, California. And I guess that’s about it.” She grinned then turned to look at Amir. “Oh!" Began Amir, realizing that he was next. "My name is Amir Delaflote, I’m 20 years old now and my ethnicity is half Persian and French and grew up in California. I’m an Expert Air Bender and hope to become a firefighter after I graduate.” Amir smiled.
"Wonderful, well today we will start off with a treat to introduce you to the class.” Leah walked over to the back window and yelled out, “Alright Zephrine, bring her in!” Leah moved aside as Zephrine rushed in and landed on his cage. He seemed to be missing a tail feather and panting slightly, Leah noted. Then ‘she’ flew in accompanied by a rush of wind produced by her magnificent wings. “Class, this is Elfida.” Leah presented the 5 foot tall creature. "She is a 25 year old Gryphon, very young in their age scale.” Elfida had landed on the blue mat and turned around to face Leah, giving her an affectionate “CRREEEeee!” and wagging her lion-like tail. Leah noted that one of Zephrine’s feathers were sticking out of her mouth. “Aww…you finally gave her one of your feathers Zephrine? How sweet of you.” She teased her parrot who retorted, “Gave her?!? She sniped it off my tail after chasing me from the stables and through the grounds!” Leah smile, “Elfida has had the longest crush on you, the least you could do was offer her a feather. Alright class, get out of your seats, bring you books and come meet Elfida, she is very tame just come and sit down along the mat and open your books to page 5, it will have a Old English render of a Gryphon. We will be starting with Air Elemental Creatures.” Leah beckoned to her class.
“WoW!! So that's what we saw zipping through the trees Amir!!” Phenia gasped excitedly at the magnificent creature as she and Amir sat down at the edge of the blue mat.

Her head titled to the side slightly as the next two people entered the room, and she gave them her deepest interest. When they were finished talking, Zephrine entered the class, and another creature was close to follow. Chyna's eyes widened at the animal. Of course she had heard of Gryphons, but she never had thought them to be real. She listened intently as Ms. Montoya explained a few things. She grabbed her book and held it close to her body as she walked toawrds the mat and kneeled down.
A small smile appeared on her face as Ms. Montoya teased Zephrine. She switched to a more confortable postion on the mat and opened her book. She flipped to page five and compared the two. The drawing in the book looked simialr -in many ways- to Elfida but lacked some things, though Chyna couldn't put her finger on it at the moment.
"So we'll be studying different animals depending on their elemental style?" she asked as she traced every feature of the Gryphon. She was now content with her elective choice.

Amaya a creature of habit, shifted silently walked around outside. There were no students interested in learning ninjutsu, so she simply wondered. A creature of habit, a creature of loneliness. She was like a lone wolf, wandering where her heart pleased her to go. Although she would have enjoyed a nice game of chess. She hadn't found anyone that could beat her in it yet. "Alone alone I am always alone," she sung out lightly not too loud, but just loud enough that the nature around her could hear. She had taken off her combat boots, and was walking bare foot outside in the grass.

A few minutes after the bell rand, Jin pushed himself off the wall and took a step towards Jake. Looking around the gym in wonder what was going to happen today, he crossed his arms over his chest as his eyes landed on Jake once more.
"Mr. Prior. May I ask, what the activity for today will be?" Jin didn't like doing nothing during class hours. Though many students pray for it, Jin was one that didn't. He would like to learn as much as he could with the time and opportunity that was given tom him.

Sleeping through the bell, Grants food had splayed across the ground, his coke resting on the seat beside him. many minutes had passed before he finally woke up, yawning he saw nobody around. He streached first looking around before standing and heading out the door that he came in through, the door that lead outside.
Seeing a seemingly young woman out in the field, he couldnt make out any of her features... he had never seen her here before... Was she even on the roster? He cleared his throat stepping outside approaching her slowly he raised his hand and waved "Hey! You got the time?" He asked

“Yes, Miss Rose, we will start with Air elemental creatures which are mainly avian. Then we will change over into the water element creatures, after that is earth, and lastly fire. Now Gryphons come in different sizes, variations in plumage and fur. There are different sub-species of Gryphons as well. Some have different bird features, such as a parrot’s head while other have different feline bodies, such as that of a cat or panther.” Leah walked up to Elfida and began to stroke her back. Elfida emitted a purring sound similar to a cat as her tail gently swished back and forth. “As you can see, Elfida is of the Bald Eagle subtype with Lion body, which is the most common specie of Gryphons. These creatures mainly like to live in open and rocky environments, such as mountainous regions with temperate deciduous and evergreen forests. Gryphons are found in the tropical forests, but they are usually small in size. Does anyone have any specific questions?” Leah asked.

Chyna raised her hand but kept it low.
"I have a few. How much can they grow...basically what is the largest they can get? And what is their...diet?"
She studied Elfida further and referred back to the drawing in the book, looking intently on the similarities. She leaned over to her bookbag and grabbed her notebook along with a pencil. She traced the drawing in her textbook then quickly sketched Elfida. She wrote down key things from what her teacher had said about them.
As she set down her pencil she read the caption to the picture in her textbook. She sighed quietly as she was reading over her work. A smile appeared on her face as she marveled her artwork of the Gryphon. Soon enough her attention drew back to her teacher and she watched her attentively, waiting for a response.

“Good questions. Usually a Gryphon will grow the size of their mammalian counterpart. For example, Elfida has a lion body, so she will grow as large as a female lioness, who is her counterpart. If we took a smaller Gryphon species, like a Peregrine Falcon and cat species, then that creature will only grow the size of a house cat. Of course there are exceptions, Elfida for one, she is quite large for her species, most of them would stop growing at 4 feet. Due to her large size, she is vulnerable of being spotted by hunters and other people who may do her harm. That is why she is living here at the school.” Leah left Elfida’s side and walked over to her desk where she a picked up a blue large lunch cooler that was behind her desk. Opening the lid, she withdrew a bag of whole sardines. Making her way back to the mat, she took one sardine out and tossed it to Elfida who jumped up with her powerful hind legs and caught the sardine in her opened beak. “A Gryphon’s diet is usually consistent with the bird species or counterpart. Again, using Elfida, she has the head, wings, and front legs of a Bald Eagle, thus she prefers a diet consisting of fish. If a Gryphon had the front body of a parrot, then they would prefer fruits, nuts, and seeds.” Leah said tossing another sardine to Elfida.

A boy was standing at the entrance to the school thinking It’s good to be back. He walked past the barrier that prevented the non-magics from seeing the place and walked up to the front door. At first glance he looks about 16 years old, but he is really 23. He has snow white hair and red eyes, on his cheeks he has these two tattoos that look like lightning bolts. He wears a black hoodie and red plaid shorts. His shoes are black skater shoes that look well worn and over his shoulder he has a black backpack. He opens that door to the house and walks in. He stops for a moment and takes a deep breath to inhale all of those forgotten scents. Might as well go talk to the Headmaster and tell him I'm here. He walks over to the door that the Headmasters room is behind and knocks. He feels his heart begin to beat faster and realizes that he is nervous. He lets out a small laugh, It’s been years since I stood at this door and I’m still nervous about going into this room. He takes a step back and waits patently.
