Claire moved abit and looked at him.
"If you want to talk about anything.. I'm here"
That's the only thing she managed to get out. She had just sounded like a bad psychiatrice. She sighed silently and looked back to the ocean.

Boone decided that he should tell Claire what was going on. He couldn't just let the pain boil up inside himself any longer. Without lifting his head, he said to Claire, "How could she?"

Claire asked. She really wanted to help, and would in any way she could. It was bad enough to be stuck on this island, people didn't have to suffer on top of that.

In a small voice, Boone replied, "Shannon. How could she run off with Sayid? Especially after what he did to me..."

Claire hesitantly(sp?) placed her arm around his shoulders to reasure him.
"I'm.. I'm sure she didn't mean you any pain.."
She wasn't sure of what to say, she didn't know either Sayid or Shannon very much.

"I'm not so sure. She never was very concerned about me," Boone seemed to be quite upset, and it was all he could do to keep himself from crying. "Even after we-" he caught himself; he had been about to mention what had happened in the hotel room.

Claire wanted to ask what they had done, but didn't think it was very appropriate to ask him.
"I'm sure she does..sometimes, we don't show our feelings.. but we care alot"

Boone nodded sadly. Last night, it had seemed as if Shannon had changed; as if she did care for him. But instead of staying at his side after Sayid had attacked him, she had run off to Sayid. "Last night... I thought so, but then she left me after he attacked me. She didn't bother to stay to see if I was okay, she just left me in the cave with Jack and Lizzie."

Claire brought her knees closed to her stomach and wrapped her arms around them, then rested her chin on the top of her knees. She looked at the ocean and closed her eyes. She knew it wasn't easy, for she had tried to forget everything that had been happening but never really managed too.

Boone finally looked up, and let his eyes rest on the water in front of him. He had always liked the ocean, and in a way, it was calming. It wouldn't let him forget, though, but then again, he wasn't so sure that he wanted to give up on Shannon. He cared deeply for her, and he wasn't about to give her up without a fight. He only wished that he was better at fighting; he didn't stand a chance if Sayid was his competition.

Claire let go of her knees and brought them down. She placed her arms in back of her and supported her whole upper body. She closed her eyes and let the soft wind roll on her face. The wind had always calmed her down, it made her feel better.
