"Order" is such a misleading word. For us, it usually means PIZZA PARTY WOOHOO!

well, the *whirrrrr*-ing is probably either the harddrive or the fan...can you touch your comp without being burnt?

if yes, it sounds like you HDs on its last legs
PostPosted: Mon May 24, 2010 4:08 pm

Agreed... it's either the fan or harddrive. If the computer's overheating, it would suggest that your fan is malfunctioning. if not, then it sounds like your harddrive might be being accessed more frequently than it probably should...

Can't really diagnose from here. Sorry confused

>_< I tend to have lots of computer problems...But I've never had this one in particular. It actually was stalled and stuck on startup when I came home from work on Saturday... so I'm rather worried it is the HD... >_< I'm pretty sure most of my stuff was stored on secondary HDs and such, and I did have a back up HD, so not much should be lost... But still. D: I don't want my computer to perish!
I'll consult my stepdad next time I see him. >_< I shouldn't really be using it very much in between now and then, anyways... >_< Too hectic right now. And I've got my laptop for everything that doesn't require intense mouse usage.

don't you have a USB mouse on your normal comp? you can just shove that one into your laptop's USB port and use it like any normal mouse

heck, I can't use a laptop without doing that...dratted school...

XD I do, I do... I also have a touch-screen laptop. =3
But there's nothing quite like getting totally absorbed in Illustrator... for that you need a full desktop layout. >_< Preferably with two screens.

Leave it for about 2, 3 weeks or so.
My comp still has a problem. I'm betting its software (because Startup Repair diagnosed Windows Update caused it) but it could be hardware as well (seeing how I can't even get to the OS at all)

After leeching off my bro's comp for that long time, I decided to turn it on on a whim and voila, it worked.
It stopped working again after a week of regular use, though.
So now I wait. Again.

Hmm... as a short-term solution, I suppose you could do worse.
PostPosted: Tue May 25, 2010 7:12 pm

XD
Indeed...
Well. In some ways I am. >_<
I've never actually seen a computer just magically fix itself long-term, and I just learned I won't have access to someone to fix the poor baby for the next month, probably.
XD I'll finally be getting some use from this laptop after all!

yeah, driving is one of the best skills to have. There's nothing better than knowing you have free will to go where you want, how you want. Just today i decided to drive some of the scenic mountain roads on my way home just because. lol and it was a pretty good idea too, very relaxing.

Wait, Mab's younger than me and he can take driving lessons?

=3 We get to learn how to drive at...what, 15-16? years of age.
XD
I have to say, either you walk or you depend on the bus if you don't learn how to drive. Life is just too busy for you to depend on a chauffeur.

And once you get past the scary parts, it's super fun!
XD My goal is to someday go 140mph... >D That's as high as the speedometer goes on my car, and someday I want to go there. >W<

I don't get to learn to drive until... 2 years later. Or if I go for National Service First, that adds another 2 years.

Hana, I think you'd have to go to the autobahn or someplace that doesn't have a speed limit if you want to hit that mark... well, if you don't want a huge speeding ticket here.
