i remember when they were talking about JR Tolkien on the radio, about how his life influenced the books. LIke the swamp of the dead that was in the Two Towers. It was based on the aftermath of the battle fields in WWI, all the dead laying around like that.
Oh and I've never read the LotR series, though that's probably because i want to read the entire MTG storyline, from the brothers war in the artifacts cycle to Scourge in the onslaught cycle at least. (have already read the Mirrodin cycle books). Then possibly the Ravnica: City of Guilds set once it finished being writen. And I actually have to hope on reading Eragon.
I've read the entire circle of magic series when i was younger, and the follow up to it, what was it called? The circle opens or something like that.
I remember seeing the Hobbit in play once. That was a really, really, really long play. But it was preatty good.
And I stil love TimeLine better than most of the books I;ve read. It has to be probably the book I;ve read more than twice.
Oh, and Karn would so own Gandolph.
Wow. Is that one of those really, really long series that takes up like four shelves in the bookstore? xD May the Force be with you while reading those, then... may you never go broke buying them. x3
it would if they had all the books at once. XP
Let see:
[and this is in choronlogical order within the world to my best memory]
The Thran (prequel to the everything up to the Onslaught cycle)(have read)
(about a 5000 year advance fromt he Thran to the artifacts cycle)
(fromt he beginning og the artifacts cycle to the end of the Invasion cycle takes about 4000 years)
Artifacts cycle:
The Brother's War (about to read)
Planeswalker
Time Streams
BloodLines
Ice Age Cycle:
The Gathering Dark
The Eternal Ice
The Shattered Alliance
Rath and Storm (one book, kinda a tie to the next cycles)
Masquerade Cycle:
Mercadian Masques
Nemesis
Prophecy
Invasion Cycle: (have read the entire cycle)
Invasion
Planeshift
Apocalypse
(That raps up the main story for the Phyxerian vs Dominaria Plot)
(take a 300 or so year break inthe story line between these cycles)
Odyssey Cycle:
Odyssey (ish reading)
Chainer's Torment
Judgment
Onslaught Cycle:
Onslaught
Legions
Scourge
(then Karn shows up and set everything strait I believe.)
(then we have the Mirrodin cycle, basically the entire cycle is almost an epilouge to everything that came before, the final story of any connection to Dominaria)
Mirrodin Cycle: (have read this cycle)
Moons of Mirrodin
The DarkSteel Eye
The Fifth Dawn
(then we switch to another plane, this cycle i may skip)
Kuwigama Cycle:
Outlaw: Champions of Kamigawa
Heretic: Betrayers of Kamigawa
Guardian: Saviors of Kamigawa
(yet another world now, this one I am so reading, as it rings close to the original dominaria and bit of Middle earth feel to the art and city structure, except that the entire world has been one large city for more than 10,000 years)
Ravinca Cycle:
Ravinca, City of Guilds
GuildPact
(third book hasn't been released.)
and then there are the legends cycles, I;m not sure where they fall inthe story line:
Legends Cycle I:
Johan
Jedit
Hazezon
Legends Cycle II:
Assassin's Blade
Emperor's Fist
Champion's Trial
and that's all the books i know of from MTG series
............................so yes, a lot of books.
