"S-sorry..." She said, looking up at Sephiroth with a grin, rubbing the back of her neck. "Didn't know you were so close..." She said quite loud before getting to her feet with a bit of difficulty. She smiled to him before heading off into the forest, near running into a few trees on the way. She had absolutely no idea of how disrespectful and stupid she was being...

"You anger way too quickly, and far too inefficiently." He stopped at the fountain. He wanted a drink, but didn't feel like it was such a need to craft a new bowl. Perhaps Mizu lessons were in his near future. "Ho, by nature, is one of the most--if not the most--emotional element we teach here. Some of the most potent and powerful emotions have been tied to fire, to heat. Anger, Fear, Love, Hatred. It's not just mankind's unflappable desire for the comfort and security of fire that has caused us to link these emotions to the flame. Much of it holds great physical meaning. That's why these are the most useful emotions for Ho." He paused for a moment, studying her face, then began again before she could speak. "However, too much can cause a person to burn out. In your case, your techniques are slack, weak in comparison to what they could be with your amount of hate and anger. That's why I'm cutting off these emotions from you. If I ever witness a technique and sense anger, you will be punished. I'm limiting your emotional usage to another: Love. If used correctly, love is the most prominent and powerful emotion available to you. All you need to do is learn to love. Do you understand?" "I can't... that is something that won't change, and you'd never understand why." She said looking away from him. "even if i tried, there are reasons i can not feel emotions like that." She said looking at him. She stood there looking back at him in silence, because of this so called form, she had never been able to leave stage one to be able to feel emotions, the only time she had was when neko had attacked her when she went at him and sent her across the room, she had felt soemthing for a second but that was it.

"This is step one on the path to Ho, Mai. If there were another way to teach it, that's how I would teach you, but I'm afraid my knowledge of this element does not include any forms that do not involve emotions." Seph stood up. "Come with me."
He made his way from the fountain towards the Dojo.

She looked at him sighing.
"ok." She said walking behind him not knowing what to really do, she didn't know most of those emotions.

Sephiroth made his way through the main room and into the Ho Dojo. He walked past the rows of now-cool coals, the torches lighting as he approached each one, going back out as he drew further away. He slipped into his office and emerged seconds later cupping something in his arms.
He went back to Mai, lifting his arm. It was a small, red fox. It poked it's head out, looked side to side, then buried it back between his arms. "I'm charging you with the protection of this animal, Mai. You are to take care of it. It will hunt by itself, but there's something it needs that I will never be able to offer it: Love." He held the creature out to her. Nine small tails dangled down behind it. "If you cannot learn to love this creature, it will die. I offer you this ultimatum. Learn to love, or learn to mourn." Sephiroth looked down at the creature he held out. "It's name is Kyuubi."

She looked at him nervously staring at it, she had a liking for animals but she couldn't, she didn't want to kill an animal...
"it's not my choice if i can love or not, do you understand that? This...... form you partially saw is a curse, it prevents me from emotions other than hate and anger, or no emotion.I don't even know what fear is....I have heard people tell me and i try to feel it, but Ican't, it's just... empty. As long as the first stage, which indicates nothing to anyone here really of the first stage i can't feel like that... I'll end up killing it.."

"Love is the most natural, most human emotion to human beings. Before we get into any chakra development, you must learn to control your emotions. I don't care who told you you 'couldn't' love. If you can't learn an emotion, how can I possibly believe you can learn to control another?"

"not an emotions chakra or something, i mean what you saw when i was attacking sage.... I only have control to a certain point and it puts the human part of me in danger, if my human form dies, i'm stuck in that demonic form to suffer. I can't learn it without blocking that form, and i can't get it lower than what i'm at now without help... I know, because... when i blanked out for a brief moment in Neko's office, I looked at Nyl, and i shook... then i looked at Neko and it came back to anger... I don't want an animal to die, they are the only things that had ever accepted me in the past until the other day when i was enraged . "

((I'm heading off for the night, I believe. Night! )) ((night night = D cya tommorow = D)) She looked at the fox that was looking back at her and she just stood there staring at it. She went to follow Seph but the fox began to go in front of her following her. She sighed. She ran the other way and it ran after her and she growled getting annoyed. She continued running and it followed and she turned around as if to strike it but stopped when it backed away. She sighed again and sat against the wall thinking. She watched it lay down where it was just watching her. She shook her head and put her arm out scooping it up letting it relax in her lap while she thought. She watched Kyuubi curl up into a ball in her lap and decided to stay there, here was father away from other people too, and she didn't mind seph, she peferred him over everyone here. The second if she had to choose would be Yuki. She began to pet it as she sat there watching it, seeing it feel, yet she couldn't. She knew pain, that she knew too well, and that was all she ever felt and it only happened being alone, when she wasn't angry or feeling hatred. She bought it into her arms and her head fell gently to the side as they both fell asleeep there.
