It's a secret to everyone here that I'd rather not spoil so openly in this forum.

Fair enough. But I'd ask if you could come back soon. I think I like you.

I'm pretty sure you'll see me around. But, "like" is a broad word. In what way do you mean?

You're a quiet presence that I find pleasant. I would enjoy your company.

Very well then. Friends we shall be. Though, I don't think I've ever been described as a presence.

Isn't that all that we are? A presence that is perceived by our own minds and the minds of others? Here on these boards, we are simple characters, with no real history, no little habits, no voices.

Oh, there are habits here that I've recognized. No voices or history, but there are habits. But, I guess you're right. We're just characters created in our minds whose only purpose is to 'live' on these forums.

Mmm. I explored the idea further in an essay, that I've posted as the main content on my gaia profile.

What habits have you observed here, then?

The way each person talks, the way each person 'moves', the way each person acts is habitually the same in nearly every post. It's when they act out of habit, away from their norm, that we notice something is wrong.

Isn't that interesting? That happens in the physical world as well.

Can small predictable actions tell us about what sort of person we are, do you think?

Only in the real world. Here, it's easy to hide who you are if you try. In the digital world you can act however you want, and no one will ever know how you truly are.

I disagree. Plenty comes out in your internet conduct. Perhaps as we come to better understand the relationship between humans and technology, we will be able to understand the patterns of behavior exhibited over the internet.

But it's late. I must sleep.

The Elderly Couple. By BLUE.
As the empty darkness sets over the moon lit sky.
As the sun in all its glory starts to die.
As we walk along the shore and ask ourselves why?

We see the moon break upon the surface of our eyes.
As we see the moon shatter we try to tell ourselves lies.
But It's only a disguise.

To our minds nothing can ever be misplaced.
To our minds nothing can ever come to a point when it is waste.
But this is an allusion to our eyes that breaks upon our face.

So shall we dance in moonlit skys.
As we ask these questions when and why?
And when we stop and take a bow.
Without a chance of knowing how.
"Our bodys go from us now."

And then we fly.
Into the sky.
And as we die.
Our bodys sigh.
