From what I've been told, the Manticore won't be like the codex art or Forge World model, but rather more like that classic Epic model.

Well, the unused Death Strike missile can always be converted into a suitable Pulsa rokkit or some other apocalyptic weapon.

Wow.. That is ingenious. I would have never thought of just slicing the end off an Earthshaker. Not at all sarcastic. Seriously.

ok, i just bought an imperial guard battle force, and now i need to know where to go, or mainly what to buy next.
the main thing im aiming for, is a static force, to just shoot the heck out of the enemy ( a totally different tactic to my chaos )
i already know ill need basilisks, but what else ?

Another Battle force so you can field another platoon, plus a HQ unit or model so you can field the standard basics at the very least. After that, get a Russ or something. pirate

For more financial that strategic purposes, really, you could count your infantry as veterans. This means you only really need two ten man squads and a command squad, like other armies. It'll allow you to still legally battle whilst being able to concentrate your spendings on tanks and artillery for the time being. And you never know, it might work for you as an overall tactic.
Though after a while I'd be tempted to take normal platoons to use as cannon fodder in front of your vehicles.
