Hartley was about to go back into his dorm when he was interrupted by a familiar sound.
"OH. MY. GOD. Hartley, have you talked to my brother?! WHAT. THE. HELL."
Hartley turned from his door to face Lisa Snart.
"Yeah, he seems a bit off...Digger and Evan, too."
"They have all been driving me CRAZY the last few days talking about that shrimpy annoying Wally West kid!"
"You shouldn't talk ill of the dead, Lisa."
"What does he care? He's dead!"

*Chris and Dani arrive at Hartley's door.*
I've lost too many friends to take anything for granted.
*knocks politely*
Cassie's gonna be so happy when I tell her....
*The grins fades from Chris's face.*
Oh...maybe you should tell her.

Lisa throws open the door.
"WE ARE BUSY IN HE-Chris!"
Her face melted into a great big pleased smile and she took him by the hands.
"Come in, come in! What are you doing here?!"
Behind her, Hartley rolled his eyes.

Lycrus was blunt.. his father, Ares, may not be allowed on the school campus but that wasn't going to stop him... Lycrus sent his dog ahead of him. The puppy looked like any normal dog. The first person the dog ran into was Megan Morse.
"Oh! What a cute little doggy! Come on I'll get you something to eat.'
The young alien girl took the dog inside... somehow the doogy helped her since she was still grieving over Wally.

*Chris ignores Lisa and pushes past her.*
Hartley! Dude! Dani and I came over as soon as we heard!
*Chris bear hugs Hartley.*
I am so glad you came out of it! Cassie...
*Chris stumbles over her name.*
..., Dani, and I...heck all of us...were worried.

"Dude. She'll get over it." stare *Eye roll*
*Suddenly the door flies open*
eek "Uh. Hi." *Small wave, and closes the door *
"Glad you're feeling better Hartley."

Lisa clapped her hands together.
"Oh, aren't we just the cutest little foursome! Come on, we should all go out on the town tonight."
Hartley extracted himself from Chris and shrugged.
"I don't know, Lisa. The entire city is on edge because of that Church thing..."
"So? I didn't say let's go to church, HARTLEY. I said WE should go OUT and have FUN."
Lisa grabbed Chris's arm and beamed at him.
"I'll show you where the Ice Charades are going to be so that you'll know where to bring your girlfriend next week, Chris!"

Uh...yea...
*Chris sure as hell wasn't going to tell Lisa that Cassie and him were currently broken up.*
I don't think I should go to town. After the Church madness.

*Looks to Hartley.* "Maybe we could do something on Campus? You ever been to BlackHawks?"

"Oh, don't you worry about it. I know a place."
Lisa hopped up and down happily. Hartley sighed.
"I suppose it'd be worthwhile to scope out what it's like in town now that the paranoia's been stoked."
"Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeasee...."
Lisa leaned her head on Chris's shoulder.
"I know you've had SUCH a rough time lately, and all of those NASTY rumor-mongers have been so CRUEL to you that you DESERVE a little fun, Chris."

Lisa. I am not going to the place where my mother murdered two....
*Crap. These two didn't know about Iris.*
...I mean...one of my friends. It would be wrong. And I may deserve a lot of things but fun isn't one of them.
It's nice to see you up and around, Hartley.
*Chris yanked open the door and went outside for some air. Damn, that was girl was clingy.*

x x _______________________________________________ And just like that, everything had been wrapped up and tied with a bow. He wasn't sure if he liked Billy having that amulet, but he didn't want to meddle with magic. He wasn't the slightest bit knowledgeable about it. Who knew what trouble he could get into? Instead, he gently pinched the chain in his hand, lifting the gem off Billy's chest for just a second before letting it drop back in place. "I don't think I like it, he muttered, and the his protective nature began to rear it's head. Well, it was time to get them out of there. And preferably soon before that succubus came back and changed her mind about being ...helpful? Had she been helpful? He guessed so. He didn't really know.
Without a second thought, Teddy took hold of Billy's hand, dragging him through the hallways and back to their dorm rooms. "Let me know if you decide to use that thing. I don't want you doing it alone....and if anything happens. Anything at all, I am right next door." He was tempted, very tempted to kiss Billy's forehead, but held that urge in. Instead he went back to his room and wrapped himself back in his comic books.

"$#!+!"
Lisa stamped her foot.
"The cd you gave him isn't working. You said it'd work!"
Lisa smacked Hartley upside the head. He shrugged her off.
"It won't WORK if he doesn't LISTEN to it, Lisa. And I don't have any power over THAT!"
"Oh, you do. You SURE do. Just get one of your stupid hypno-trumpets or whatever and MAKE him listen to it!"
Hartley reflected on this. He did need to keep in practice...
