I dated a couple of closet cases in college... drove me crazy. stressed

We're taking it very slow. He doesn't want to meet up in public just yet, so we plan on talking a lot over AIM, getting to know eachother...Once he's ready, then we can move towarda actual "dating." He's never actually dated a guy before, and flat-out said that he's not ready for sex (which is wonderful, as that was what my last relationship was all about, really).

These things never end well for me, but I'm going along with it anyway. Either I'm desperate, stupid, or hopelessly optimistic.

Oh, and Clark? It means that both he and I are gay, but he hasn't told anyone yet, and doesn't plan to for a bit. He's still in the "Do I want people to know that I'm gay" phase.

I hope so. I'm actually trying to calm myself down with all of this, as I really don't want to scare him off. He's really nervous about everything, which is kind of cute. I don't want to weird him out too much.

Yeah, it's an awkward phase to go through, but it usually seems to help to have someone to talk to, which helps explode a lot of the fears and myths that float around about being gay and the alleged horrors of coming out. You seem to have a good sense of where you, and he are and that'll go a long way toward making sure he grows more comfortable with you and helps keep your feelings in tact.

It's just weird that my first boyfriend was closeted, my second one admitted to being bisexual but he also didn't want everyone to see the male-part of that, and now this. I think I must attract these people.

It could be that you're friendly, and it's much easier to approach someone who is friendly than not, especially if they're nervous/closeted/hiding/all of the above.
